  1. I'll begin with an apology because I imagine this question has been asked a million times before, but in my search I couldn't find a recent thread on the topic - though I might have researched more exhaustively. At any rate, I understand on-board credit can be used for drinks, excursions, specialty restaurants, tips, etc. But I'm unclear whether it can also be used in the casino. Since the credit is on the Sea Pass card, can the credit be accessed if swiped into a slot machine?

  2. Sheepdoggrif, I had the same lack of response from Eagle Ray, so decided to go with H2O. Check out their website. They apparently visit 4 reefs over 4+ hours for $60 per person. I am booked with them and really looking forward to their tour.

  3. We'll be staying at the Wyndam Riverside before our RCI cruise in April and would like to purchase our allowed 2 bottles of wine just before we head to the Port. Are there places nearby to purchase decent quality bottles of wine? I'm obviously not familiar enough with NOLA to know what my options are for buying wine to take aboard. Thanks to anyone who can offer some advice.

  4. I am aware from time to time (perhaps not every time) prior to departure, the cruise line will contact people with reservations and offer a stateroom upgrade for a nominal fee. My questions are, at what point do they make these offers - a month prior or just a couple of weeks before sailing? Does it also work if I contact the cruise line and request an upgrade? I understand it would be a function of whether the cruise is sold out or not as to whether they make this offer or not. I just wasn't sure if it's something I need to wait for them to initiate, or if it's possible for me to make the request myself. Thanks for your insights.

  5. Eagle Ray Divers finally did reply via email, so apparently they are still open for business. Didn't want to leave the impression that they never got back to me. Thanks for the suggestions, everyone.

  6. H2O is new to me, but snorkeling with them sounds intriguing. I like the fact they claim not to visit the same reefs targeted by most other snorkel tours. Plus, they sound as though they have a certain pride and passion for what they do. I'll give them a try. Thanks for the recommendations!

  7. I just read the post from the person who was put on hold for 2 hours, then was able to upgrade their family into a Royal Suite. That worked out well for him/her. I would just like to vent about my experience. The first time I called the general information line this morning, I was put on hold for 24 minutes. Then as the call was being transferred to a live person (a Brand Specialist), my call was dropped completely. Back to square one. I re-dialed and was again put on hold. This time, after 48 minutes, still on hold, I gave up. I then found the number for Crown and Anchor, called that number and reached a live person within two minutes. My bad. I should have called that number initially - no one to blame but myself. My question was answered and I was on my way within five minutes.

At any rate, I am just venting at this point. I'm somewhat ticked at myself for spending so much time on hold when I could have put my time to better use. After awhile, you get to the point where you're just curious to see how long it might actually take before you are connected with a live person. Being on hold for so long wore me out so I never actually found out. But honestly, isn't there a better way in times of high call volume, a more service-oriented solution, than to keep folks on-hold for seemingly forever? It just doesn't strike me as being terribly customer-oriented. I know the actual cruise itself will be a far different experience. I only wish every aspect of the pre-cruise process ran more smoothly and greater consideration was given to those attempting to get simple questions answered by phone.

    Vent over.

  8. Just tried the (987) 872-5735 number without luck. Message says "The number you have dialed - 01 - has been disconnected and is no longer in service". Odd. Should I be dialing an international code of some sort before the number? I tried the toll-free number again but without success.

  9. I have tried without success to reserve space on a 3 reef snorkel expedition in Cozumel with Eagle Ray Divers. Something must be going on as they don't answer their phone, return calls or respond to emails. This has been the norm for the past three days.

Can anyone recommend another tour or expedition that does the three reefs snorkel trip in Cozumel or something comparable? Appreciate any insights or feedback anyone can provide.

  10. For the past 2+ days I have been trying by phone and email to connect with Eagle Ray Divers to schedule a snorkel tour, but no one is responding to email or phone messages. Does anyone know whether this is typical for them, or whether they are still in operation? Kind of frustrating not to get any kind of response......Thanks!
