  1. lol In answer, YES they all wait until the last minute!

Oh the dreaded final payment date. I almost hung one of our groomsmen over this. Talk about the last minute - long story short we had made arrangements to meet the day of final payment so I could help him with it and that day after numerous texts and phone calls from both Troy and I.....at 10PM I finally got ahold of him and was like listen you HAVE to make this payment within the next 2 hours. Ugh - he's a great, dear friend and I love him but really?!? It's not like he didn't know this had to happen on that day.

  2. I feel like I have been sooooo absent! I started a new job (did I mention that the last time I posted......I honestly can't remember!), and I'm working nearly 60 hours a week so no time for anything it feels like!

I just went back and, yes, apparently I did mention that before. :-)

  3. I feel like I have been sooooo absent! I started a new job (did I mention that the last time I posted......I honestly can't remember!), and I'm working nearly 60 hours a week so no time for anything it feels like!

Final payments on the cruise are due THIS SUNDAY!!! eeek!! I just called and made some last minute rearrangements with bookings and then got online and paid for all but 2 of our bridal party and I am......nearly having a nervous breakdown. Troy just called and I told him that I didn't make the payment for his parents or my maid of honor, and it's stilly because we have the money, it's in the account but it just makes me nervous. Silly I know....

Last night I ordered the belt for my dress and the ties for the guys. My dilemma now is my shoes.... I am very disappointed that the shoes I fell in love with (turquoise Sperrys) didn't fit well/looked bad. I am considering just wearing the Sperrys I have.

We decided on a date for our at home reception, so last night I also ordered the invitations for that. I got 100 invitations with envelopes and RSVP cards and matching return address labels for $85 from VP.....I was really impressed with the pricing! Now to find time to plan that escapade.

    I loose track...who is next?!?!

  4. I feel that I haven't checked in, in forever!!! I started a new job and I'm working roughly 60 hours a week and that's probably why.

But I had a breakdown tonight so I thought about all of you ladies and made it a point to make a post. I tried on my dress for the irate time sine I got it and.....I hated it!!! Thank goodness for BFF to the rescue. She came right over and strapped my into my dress....tugged and yanked on the back...so I could see it, the way it was supposed to fit and . . . low and behold I do actually still live my dress.

Holy cow, that was rough. I should have known better thank to think I could try it on by myself.

Our said date is so close and il stressing about final payments being due on the 28, but it will all be ok.

I'm still so excited for everyone of you that have had a wedding this year, or have one coming shortly. I love seeing the pictures. It puts me at ease, so keep them coming!

  5. I cannot believe it's almost time!! I get married on Monday!! We leave on Friday for Puerto Rico and then Sunday on the cruise we go!! For the most part, everything is set! It's just a waiting game now... I got my hair done yesterday, and I'm getting my nails done today.. I'm so excited!!!

Yay!!!! Have a super spectacular day!! Can't wait to hear about it upon your return!

  6. Hey everyone!

Wooftah I am getting to the home stretch. (Can you believe I started this thread a year ago?! Where has the time gone? Well I get married a week from today and we leave in 3 days so I'm pretty darn excited.

I'm glad to hear everyone's plans are coming along! For me, its just final packing and we leave. Random question:

Did you ladies stay in your dresses or are you planning to all day and night?

I plan on wearing my dress all day and all night ....and possibly the next day too. LOL - j/k.

Safe travels and happy wedding!! :)

  7. 120 days...eeek! Starting to get a bit panicky..... So much to do!

I feel you! We are still at 145 days (until we fly out) and I an starting to feel so overwhelmed with the LITTLE things that still need to be done.

    Such a good idea!

Does anyone know, if you buy a bottle from the Carnival website (not in the store while on the ship but before you go) can you bring those drinks you make everywhere on the ship? Nightclub, casino, bars? I just don't want to buy a bottle if you can only bring it certain places.

8 more days until we leave. HOLY COW!

I also think you can take the drinks wherever. I have been toying around with the idea of buying a bottle from Carnival, to save money, as well. I'm sure a bottle of JD would last me at the entire cruise.

Our crew are heavy drinkers so I have encouraged them not to purchase the Cheers! package (since they cut you off after 15 drinks), so I have been mentioning this idea to those who drink liquor. Although one of my guests did make a valid point when she said, "Yes, but I'm really looking forward to just laying next to the pool and having someone bring me my drink." LOL I told her that's what her husband is for; he can run back to the room and refresh her drink for her. :)

Stacy, if I don't pop back on here before you leave have a wonderfully fantastic time and enjoy your day!! I'm so happy for you!! :D

  8. Is anyone Instagraming/hashtaging/other sharing app thinner-ing? :-D I feel that with the number of smart phones that will be at the wedding that it would be easiest to look into one of these new apps that allows people to share with each other.....anyone researched this at all? Plan on using one? Anyone have ever used one? I'm looking into it right now and will let you know what I find if anyone is interested.

On a positive front - a groomsman asked us about the attire this week and I said, that's all Troy. Troy said that on my next weekend off we would go to Syracuse and get that squared away. Well, hmmmm this weekend I happen to be off. So, we will see if he sticks with it. I just thought too that while I have him out and in shopping mode we should probably look at wedding bands. Exciting, much! :-)

  9. Search: Cruise Door Decorations it is sooooo cute! I don't want a tacky huge one but I like the idea of being able to have people sign and send good wishes.

That's such a great idea! I never thought about making our door into a place for people to sign and leave messages. Although we have an aft balcony, so I'm not sure how many people would walk down that way (unless they have a room there), but still an awesome idea - I am def working this in!! [emoji106]

  10. I wouldn't feel bad, either. It's not as if you forced her to be pregnant. Wow, you were originally covering the travel costs? I feel like such a bad bride. I'm not covering anything for anyone. I got a group booking rate for a hotel for the night before the cruise, but that's about it.

Well we had a budget for the wedding when we planned to have it here, and we figured that the wedding itself (in Key West) is costing us so little that we would cover the cost of the cruise for the wedding party. It's just our way of saying thank you for traveling and being with us.

I am surprised too at the number of people who are attending the wedding! We are at 35 guests sailing. Four are driving to Key West, from NY, and I have one friend who lives the next key up who will also be attending. I think that our wedding gives a lot of our friends an excuse to go on vacation, which is awesome for both them and us.

On a new front, I heard that Troy's sister has offered to "sell" their room to his cousin who hasn't booked yet. I explained to his aunt that it doesn't work like that...then I went off the handle again because she doesn't have anything to sell - I paid the deposit, not her. UGH - I'm going to have so much grey hair before this trip actually get under way. LOL

  11. Hello, hello, hello! Trying to play catch up today! Welcome to all of the newcomers!

    AAAhhh 31 days!

You must be getting more and more excited by the minute!!! :D

Hello everyone!! I have been very quiet the past few weeks because of my very long move from Boston to Orlando! But, I am finally sort of settled to where I can say hello!!

Wedding stuff is still slowly going.. Getting RSVPs in slowly but already have an idea of who is going to be there.

I have my wedding dress in my closet, It fit perfectly a couple of weeks ago. Im going to try it on again in a couple of weeks to make sure I haven't fluctuated in size.

Hubby has yet to get his suit, he is such a procrastinator. We are going next week and not leaving without it. Luckily, it's not something that (I hope) will need to be altered. I also am looking for outfits for my boys too. I work next to a mall, I think I'm going to go before work and try to get things.

I'm now just looking for the little things... Jewelry, accessories, clothes for the trip!! I can't believe I am at the 1 month mark!!

Glad your move went well! I'm in the same boat, just looking for small things...and the suits - I am positive we will be in Miami before Troy gets a suit. *sigh* Besides underwear and socks I don't think Troy has bought one new article of clothing the 3 years we have been together. He has never even been to the mall in that period of time, so getting him there is like pulling teeth. I keep mentioning it and he keeps pushing it off. I can't remember who it was that used ice cream as a bribe but I'm sure that is the only way I will get him to go shopping.

I am also down to needing my bouquet and a belt/applique for my dress. I feel like I have looked at (literally) hundreds of each of those items over the past 2 weeks. The appliqué they put on when I tried on my dress was $400 - No. Thank. You. I have found a couple that I do like but I'm so skeptical about purchasing one without seeing it on my dress. And, I have found one bouquet that I love....but it's $80 and I'm so cheap. My MOH has offered to make me the same bouquet (so awesome of her) but I've been having a hard time even locating the flowers at a reasonable price.

There are days where I want to just buy everything else I need and just be done with it.

  12. Wow. I never even considered a pregnancy could derail a cruise wedding, well, except my own. I'm actually excited I got an IUD mid Feb to take care of that concern. Are your guests upset with you over the pregnant situation?

I haven't spoken directly with Troy's sister....so I have no idea how they are feeling about things. I can't imagine they will be overly happy with our new stipulations but that isn't my fault. I mean they're going from we will pay X dollars towards your cruise (the cost of his brother-in-laws fare, since he is in the wedding), to they have to pay for all of their travel expenses and reimburse us $300. That's not really a great spot to be in, but like I said I don't feel bad and I'm not the one who put them in this position.

I may sound cold-hearted but oh well - you should have heard me a week ago when I found this out....I was livid; I've calmed down a lot since then. I've realized that it isn't my problem and I need to let it go.

  13. Sadly, though, this has cost me a friendship. :(

I completely understand and in the end this might cost me also. Troy's sister is far from my favorite person in the first place and now (I just know it) she is going to make this all about her and her pregnancy....because that's what she does. I am going to get irritated and eventually hash it out with her. That's what I anticipate to happen anyway.

I also see them getting angry with the fact that we are not footing the bill for their travels anymore AND we expect that they will reimburse us the $300 cruise deposit that I am going to lose. However, I don't feel bad (Troy has actually told me to not feel bad also) because they make very, very good money, and this all could have been avoided by planning a little better.

  14. Off the atrium on deck three, both sides, is a quiet deck with usually a few lounge chairs. Very quiet and shaded/under the lifeboats.

That was my go-to quiet spot when I was on the Victory; sat out there every night for an hour or so. Being right off the atrium I never understood why these areas were so quiet, but they generally were. Just before dinner was the only time I ever saw anyone else out on these decks - taking advantage of the sunset photo opp. Enjoy the Victory, she's a great ship!

  15. I did it....scoured this entire board and made a list. My apologies if anyone's name isn't spelled correctly, or it I made any other errors. I only listed those who gave both the date and ship in their post...and I tried to note where the wedding would actually take place (if I happened to spot it along the way). Feel free to add to/edit the list!

  16. Well, we decided to just cancel the group booking and just do our own thing. We are going to buy our guests drinks after the dinner and it will all work out just perfect! If you booked through the wedding department and are fine with all the times they provide you, you will be fine. :)

As for us, today was my first shower!!! :) We had such a good time and are now getting VERY excited! I have the family one in two weeks. Then it will be crunch time!

Glad you got all of that worked out!! I was going to suggest to just do something on your own. We are doing everything on our own and I feel relaxed that we are following our own agenda and terms. Your shower looks awesome! I love the cake...and your dress! How fun!! Your pictures made me smile while all I've been doing all morning is pulling my hair out.

We finally booked airfare so I'm trying to get everyone on that bandwagon while prices are still low.....so many of our guests have never traveled before though so I'm having to hold their hand through this entire process. I've been posting written, explicit instructions and posting them on our FB page and website - I've also been making videos about how to create their account on Carnival and set that up, how to go online and book air and hotel, how to check in online on Carnival.....and still I'm bombarded with questions. Mostly from my mother (who is a world traveler)....oy vey.

THEN - this morning it dawns on me that Troy's sister won't be able to cruise because she just found out she is pregnant and will be 32 weeks along by then. I don't think she realizes this because she asked me on Saturday what their balance was. So I've had to break that news to Troy this morning. Now I'm trying to figure out what to do about that - they can fly down for the wedding but should I offer to pay for their air? Or hotel? Even though I'm out $300 from their cruise deposit? Ugh-Ugh-Ugh....

On a happy note (I feel bad I loose track) but who is up next for their wedding?!?! We should make a chronological list (I'm an OCD, list maker). :D

  17. I was thinking today.......does anyone else feel like their lives are in fast forward lately? I started this thread almost a year ago and I can remember thinking I'm sooooo jealous of the brides and grooms getting married within a few months. We have seen some come and go and now I'm thinking in 2 short months I'll be gone as well. :( everything goes by so fast as you get older.....

I absolutely feel like this!! We have 205 days to go, and as far away as August sounds I also think OMG - only 200 days!! I feel like I have so many little decisions to make. Thank goodness everything big is already taken care of! I've been hawking airfare lately - Southwest will publish their fares on the 19th for our travel date so we will be making a decision about that very soon!!

MY DRESS CAME IN YESTERDAY!! I am so excited!! BUT I'm also so busy that I can't possibly figure out when I'll get down to pick it up (it's 2 hours away). I think I'll take Monday off and do that. I kept saying to Troy last night "My dress is here! My dress is here!" I said, "If you are going to keep telling me this every 5 minutes for the next 6 months you're honestly going to drive me crazy!" :D

  18. Is anyone planning an at home reception? Although we have many friends and family booked for our cruise we still have plenty more who are not able to attend, so we will be having a reception about a month after we return. We have another snow day today so I've spent the whole morning trying to lay things out for that and it's just stressing me out! I can't imagine having to plan an entire wedding and reception....this (super) casual reception is enough. I feel that with our wedding planner in KW taking care of most everything I haven't really planned the wedding; it's been so stress free, thus far. But this reception - tents, food, linens, utensils, music, cake, drinks.....AHHHHHH!

  19. Oh my so much to catch up on!!!

Hello everyone! Im probably going to be MIA for a bit. We just were told we have to relocate from Boston to Orlando, Florida by the end of Feb. It's a company transfer but that has me freaking out a bit because of everything going on. I'm glad I didn't buy my plane tickets yet lol. I have so much I have to figure out and I'm not sure how everything is going to work out, but it has to. I also have a lot of traveling for work...these next 3 months are going to be tough!! I gotta find out about the alterations for my dress and how long those take because I'm supposed to do a fitting beginning of feb. If it's going to take longer than a few weeks, I might have to hold off until I get to Florida. But then that will be about 1 month out. So much to do before then...

    UGH so stressed out!!!

Good news: we paid off our cruise last week :) so that is definitely happening lol.

No worries!! I know you're stressing but everything will work out for the best! I am sure of it. Take each day by itself and don't overwhelm yourself. :-)

Have you tried afloral.... I think that's the name. They sell real touch silks.

    O. M. G. - you're down to like 5 days now, right?! How freaking exciting!!!!!! I'm beaming with excitement for you!

Afloral does have very inexpensive silk touch flowers, and if you sign up for their weekly e-mails they ALWAYS have a discount!!

I'm still kind of in awe of the fact that our weddings are all happening THIS YEAR (and for once of us this WEEK!!!) It's so awesome!! My mother asked me the other day, "Now that Christmas is over are you going to focus on the wedding again?" Well...my answer was yes I am, but things have just been so hectic here that I haven't had a chance. My brother has needed a lot of support lately as his ex is being a nasty, nasty, c word (and I NEVER use that word, EVER; but she is). So I've been giving him my undivided attention and trying to help him as much as possible the last 2 weeks. Oh, and - his ex and I never officially had "the talk" about the wedding but she's just out....I unfriended her on FB, I removed her form all of the wedding/bridesmaids groups.....so I'm sure she gets the picture. ICK - it's just horrible how low, inconsiderate, and down right nasty she s being to him (and all of us)!

I am so glad that with a destination wedding that a brunt of the work is taken care of, by the wedding planners. It really is a huge weight lifted. I do feel like I have so many "little" things to do thought......more so things for our guests, to make sure they are all up on what is happening and comfortable when they travel.

Anyway..... my sister lives in Holland and I am (as-I-type) ordering her dress on David's website, because I have to have it sent here then I have to ship it to her so she can have it fitted. I went with them because: 1. We found a dress there that both the girls and I love. 2. It's very inexpensive. 3. All of my gal pals are widespread, so it was easiest. BUT (of course) the website is being less than cooperative.

I'm so excited to come back next week and hear that one of us has been married - and hear the stories and see the pictures (after you've had time to come home and relax of course). :D
