Thanks for all the suggestions. The Homewood Suites on Western sounds like it may be our best option.
-
The reason why I asked about the Hampton and Homewood is because I'm a Hilton Honors member. The total rates for 6/3/20
are $223 for Hampton or $287 for Homewood with evening drinks. We will be cruising out of Pier 66 (Bell St) and thought these properties are a short trip. We've been to Seattle before and has seen most of the sites, so a relaxing night before the cruise would be fine.

Does anyone have any comments on either the Hampton Inn & Suites / Downtown or Homewood Suites by Hilton / Downtown? Both properties have reasonably good reviews on sites, but if anyone has stayed at the hotels or in the general area, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Will be disembarking in Montreal and need transportation to the airport (YUL). Are there shuttles or car services available? I assume there are
taxis but I was hoping for other alternatives. Also, what would the travel time be as we have a 1:30pm scheduled flight? Thanks for any help.

We will need a car service from LGA to Midtown Manhattan the day before our cruise. Our plane will arrive about 2pm on a Saturday. On this thread as well as others the two most mentioned are Dial 7 and Carmel. Will there be an additional charge for tolls? Having never used a car service, are the tips included in the fee and if not, what would a normal percent or tip be for this trip? Any help would be appreciated.

I will probably stay at the Embassy Suites and enjoy the evening drinks with the breakfast. My wife suggests that we
stop at the Mood Fabric Store because it is used in one of her favorite tv shows on Bravo. Empire State Building and the Rockefeller Center are top priorities, and then Saint Pats on Sunday morning before our cruise.
Thanks for all the suggestions.

Thanks for all the comments. It's our first time in Manhattan and will have lots to do in a short time. Are there any must see sites that we should not miss? We will only have a half a day on a Saturday to see the sites. Looking
forward to our cruise into the New England and Canada ports.

We will be cruising out of Manhattan on 9/1 and have reserved a room at the Embassy Suites and
the Hampton Inn Manhattan Times Square South. Does anyone have any comments or concerns
about either property. They are located within a few blocks of each other and not to far from
the Pier 88. The rates are about the same $265 and $246. Also, any suggestions on a place for
a good sandwich for lunch?

What would be the recommended earliest flight to schedule for departure from the Montreal airport (YUL) after a cruise? I'm not sure of
the locations of the port and the airport as well as the expected travel time mid-week. We may have to schedule a one or two stop flight
so the earliest flight may be the most convenient.

Cruise will depart from Pier 88 on Sept 1, 2019. Will arrive the day before and have hotel reserved in
37 St area. We have to decide what airport to fly into. Had planned on LGA but understand that there
will be runway renovations during this time. Any thoughts on JFK or Newark? We will probably use
a car service from airport to hotel and a taxi or other service to the port. Any suggestions on services? Trains and buses would not be an
option. First time in NY.

Thanks for all the comments. We will be looking forward to our first Oceania cruise.

We are looking at a 10 day cruise between NYC and Montreal this fall. The cruise has 9 different ports of
call with only 1 sea day. We have to decide on the type of cabin from the inside to a veranda. I would like to
consider an inside with the savings to be used for excursions in each of the ports. We are first time cruisers
with Oceania and the ship would be the Insignia. Any help would be appreciated.

If one reserves an OLife tour, which is included in the package prior to the sailing, can the tour be changed without any penalty? I understand that the packaged tours must be reserved before the start of the cruise.

Thanks for all the information. This is a big help.

Are there suggestions for hotel properties close to LGA that would be located by dining options or would we have to locate closer to the port? The flight time would probably eliminate the option for site seeing, so just a hotel and dinner would work. We always check the aarp rate as well hotel membership clubs.

Thanks for the replies. We are two seniors who will arrive on 10/22 Monday and depart the next day. It is a one way to NY and a return to Chicago from Montreal. The airline fare would be about $100 pp from MDY (Southwest) and about the same from ORD. I have looked at the Hampton Inn and Home2Suites at LGA at about $200 - 250 for the night. (East Elmhurst and Long Island City) Based on comments, should I eliminate JFK?
What would the cost be for the transfer from Newark or LGA with 2 people with 2 bags. What would be the best time to schedule a private car service during non peak times to the port. All comments are appreciated.

Have a cruise scheduled for October out of Brooklyn and need help determining which airport would be the most convenient to use. Will be flying from Chicago the afternoon before cruise, so no time to site see. We would stay close to the airport and travel to port the next day. The three would be LGA, JFK or Newark. We would not use public transportation so we need suggestions for the travel to the port.

Thanks, we will wait and purchase on the ship

Its been a while since we sailed with Princess. Is it better to pay for a card prior to cruise for a discount or will there be promotions available on the ship? I remember our last cruise there was an offer of BOGO.

I need help with information about locals (individuals) who provide free tours of their local city. I read a posting that mentioned a website that provides the names of people who are interested in their cities and make tours available.
The site listed cities in Europe, Canada, US and many other areas. This seems like a great idea without having a formal structured tour.

Can I assume that shorts are acceptable for breakfast in Blu?

Thanks for all the comments. This information will help us with our cabin selection.

I'm considering booking an Aqua cabin on the Equinox but have questions about location and noise. I have reviewed the S Cabin spreadsheet on a different thread and still need help. Are all the cabin number locations the same on each of the S Class ships? Are the A2 cabins (spa area) quieter than A1 (pool area)? If you have stayed in either location, please comment.

Thanks again for the comments. I will book the 11 day (first cruise after the TA) and have a great time. Anytime you can be in the Caribbean during the winter season is just fine with us.
How much FCC will it take
in Oceania Cruises
Posted
With so many cruises being cancelled, O will offer a refund or a FCC for the customers who have their cruise canceled by O.
With most suggesting they would take the refund, what amount of FCC would make you consider not taking the refund. If O would
extend the “last date to use” period for the FCC, would that make you change your decision? My Alaskan cruise is in June and I
will wait to see if O will make the right decision and cancel.
