I would go with 2 connecting cabins.....your kids are too young (IMO) to be across the hall! RCI has some ships (Voyager and Freedom class) that have some balconies that connect to an inside cabin. Put the kids in the inside, parents take the balcony, and you'll have plenty of space! The kid's messes are contained in one cabin, but you have immediate access to their bedroom directly from YOUR room! 2 bathrooms, too! Be aware that cabins only have showers, unless you book a JS or better.

I would be in one cabin with the 2 younger kids and my husband in another with the 3 older boys if we end up doing separate cabins. Or connecting would work if that's available. I definitely would prefer sleeping in the same bed as my husband

I have 5 kids, currently ages 9, 8, 6, 4, and 1. I am looking into booking a cruise for the end of the year (Oct/Nov) or Jan/Feb 2019. What is the best cruise line for a family of 7? I would prefer one big room but am open to one adult in a room with 3 kids and one adult in an adjoining room with the other 2.

Very thin and soft where the cheese is, crispy around the edges. I compare it to a cracker. It's super yummy and I can't wait to have more. Is it the best in the world? Nope. Is it good? Yep. Best part is I can get it 24 hours a day with no extra money out of my pocket. I am a Chicago style pizza girl through and through since I'm originally from the Midwest, but for thin crust, it's delish.

What cruise line has the best accommodations and value for a large family? 2 parents and 5 or 6 kids ages 12 and under.

I have a question for you. I have spent hours reading your awesome reviews and showing my husband your pictures to try to convince him to let me book a cruise ;) But what I am wondering is, do you have an all-time favorite port? Like a this MUST be on your bucket list kind of place? For someone who may only go on one or two cruises in their entire life, what is the must-see place? In your opinion of course, I know everyone enjoys different things :)

is the buffet on the Lido deck typically crowded? Part of my being grumpy when I first wake up is not wanting to be around people. I only communicate in grunts and eye rolls for a good 30 minutes LOL And about how long does it take to walk from a mid-ship cabin to the buffet? It has been almost 17 years since I have been on a cruise so I don't remember how long it takes to walk places.

I have seen other people mention getting sunburned even in the shade due to the reflection off the sand and water. Is this typically an issue?

I am a classic ginger with red hair, blue eyes, freckles, and VERY fair skin. Any tips on how to enjoy my cruise and not get burned? I typically don't spend more than 30 minutes outside at a time because I burn even with sunscreen. I know the basics, sunscreen, long sleeve rashguard, hat, and reapply the sunscreen often, but normally I stay indoors when the sun is at it's peak and limit my time in the sun as much as possible. I live in NC, so I know the Caribbean and Bahamas are much closer to the equator than I am used to.

Breakfast through room service is continental items only. You will have to leave your cabin for bacon and eggs. Either the buffet or MDR for those types of items.

What exactly are "continental items?" I don't want to have to get dressed and walk somewhere in the morning to get food. So if I can't get it through room service I might skip breakfast and get an early lunch. I am so not a morning person ;)

My husband doesn't eat breakfast and I am a major grump in the morning so I am thinking it may be best to order room service each morning. We would probably want coffee for him and eggs, bacon, toast, and juice for me. How long does it typically take to arrive? Is there a charge? What is a good amount to tip?

Yes, HMC is a wonderful port stop ... BUT I would never base my decision totally on going to any one port.

HMC does get missed (weather, high seas, etc. ) rather often. :(

Would hate for you to spend the extra booking a hotel plus more driving time and not get to go.

 

Charleston might be the better choice for you ... all considered.

We are looking at maybe February 2016, but we are pretty flexible.

I am not really a huge beach person, but only because I am a very fair-skinned redhead and I burn easily. But I do enjoy relaxing on a chair under a big umbrella where I can see, smell, and hear the ocean. My husband really enjoys historical tour type things. Neither of us drink alcohol, so good bars and drink prices don't matter :)

I do have 4 young children who will be staying with grandparents so the less time away from them the better :)

I am trying to decide between 2 cruises.

5 Day Bahamas from Charleston, SC

Aboard: Carnival Fantasy

Sails to: Freeport, The Bahamas; Nassau, The Bahamas

OR

5 Day Bahamas from Jacksonville, FL

Aboard: Carnival Fascination

Sails to: Half Moon Cay, The Bahamas; Nassau, The Bahamas

So the main differences are Fantasy vs Fascination and Freeport vs Half Moon Cay.

I am pretty much a first time cruiser (went on one a LONG time ago when I was a kid) and it will be my husband's first ever cruise. So we don't have a lot to compare to.

We live 4 1/2 hours from Charleston and 6 1/2 hours from Jacksonville, so we can drive to either. I think for the one leaving from Charleston we could leave the morning of the cruise but for the one leaving from Jacksonville we would need to drive down the night before and get a hotel room. So it seems like the one from Charleston may be the better choice, but if the Fascination is way better than the Fantasy or if HMC is way better than Freeport I am definitely willing to drive the extra 2 hours!

this might be a silly question, but I am confused. The cabin description says "Two twin beds that convert to a Royal King" and "OCCUPANCY: Up to 4 Guests" so where do the other 2 people sleep???
