Hi Vic, we are looking to book with kamchatintours.
when you booked with them did they ask you for all your passport details to make the booking.
Im a bit weary of sending all passport details, mainly passport number, over the net.

We booked an all day tour with Kamchatintour http://www.kamchatintour.ru
I found them to be very responsive to all of my questions - in perfect Englsh. Our guide, Anna Konevskaya, was extremely organized and very knowledgeable about the local area and it's history. We couldn't have asked for anyone better. We visited a "snow dogs" center where they train long distance sled dog racers similar to Alaska's Iditarod. We also saw some indigenous people perform ethnic dances for us. It turned out to be a very memorable day.
Don't miss Petropavlovsk, but make sure to do your homework first! Oh yes, don't bother with the ship's shore excursions. They are outrageously expensive and lack the interpersonal contact that a tour with a local company like Kamchatintour offers.

Yes, reading the fine print is a must.
I have hypertension and when I rang and mentioned this to a well know travel ins. company they asked if I was being treated by a GP or a Specialist. when I told them it was a Specialist they then said they would not cover me for that. Also some companies have cruise insurance and you must take that instead of normal travel insurance or you wont be covered. Insure and Go does that. We have used them a few times and made a couple of small claims and never a problem when it comes to getting paid for them. They also covered for my pre-existing medical conditions. I was checking Worldcare travel insurance and they also have cruise insurance which you must use if cruising.

we have used Insure and Go for last couple of cruises. they covered my pre-existing medical conditions. and have the cruise only policy.
we made a small claim on each cruise for lost glasses and damage to camera.
no trouble with claims. will use them again for next cruise

I too was on the Sea princess when this happened at 6-15am. I'm not a 1st time poster like Lanlubber or Vabralee but it did happen as stated.
only lasted a few minutes but that was enough to cause a lot of damage.
it seemed to tilt in 3 stages. it listed a bit then 10 secs or so later went a bit more then went a bit more again. all the stuff on our dressing table ended on the floor.
I though it was rough weather. I got dressed and went up top but sea was reasonably calm to a slight swell.
in the bistro there was plates and cups and cutlery all over the floor plus in the gift shop everything on the floor.
someone was brought on board at Auckland to investigate the reason.
friends who attended the captains lunch and sat at the table with the second in charge were told it was a problem with the hydraulics that caused the rudders to do what ever caused the problem. we will never know the truth.
had it of happened an hour or two later when most people were up and about there would of been a lot of injuries.
to Beanb41 and others who douth this happened. we were there you weren't and know that it did happen

I always take a carton of coke cans on board each cruise.
when I booked the next cruise for March the TA told me that Princess was going to limit the amount you could take on with you to 12 cans. has anyone heard about this.

what happens to any money you have paid if you cancel after the 31st May. Will you still get it all back as a FCC or do Princess revert back to their normal cancellation policy where you will lose some of your money.
