  1. We had early check out, 6.30 am. I think the last check out time was 8.30 am, but you have to be out of your room by 7.30 am. I know this is early, but I love getting on the ship by lunch time and sailing by 2.00 pm, so I'm happy to leave the ship early.

  2. Thanks for that info. I will start to get a folder together now with suggestions in it. Mr Google and I are very close friends, what did we do before the Internet! I like to know everything before I go, I know sometimes things change, but as long as I have a few options I will be happy. So I will keep searching and asking lots of questions on CC. Thanks

  3. This is a great thread, I'm learning a lot. I've only been on 2 cruises, and learnt a major lesson on our last cruise. I made a 'friend' through the roll call. On board we met up, and then couldn't get rid of them. We ended up hiding from them when we've we saw them. We just didn't get along - though they seemed happy enough lol. Never though of NOT being the first at muster, will remember that one from now on.

  4. I have cruised Hawaii and out of Australia. Being Australian didn't know much about tipping. The staff on the Hawaiian cruise loved us because we tipped so well, hey we received great service so we just rounded the price up, that then meant we got even better service because it became known that we were good tippers. If fact we didn't really know what we were doing. When we sailed out of Brisbane tipping was not required. We still tipped our cabin steward as we received great service. The reason Princess changed their policy out of Australia is because tipping is not a normal custom here. And a lot of Australian cruisers just don't know what is the correct thing to do. So Princess changed their policy and added it to the overall price of the cruise. It is not because we are tight or nasty, that we don't tip in Australia, you could say it was opposite, we pay a good wage for a job well done, the worker doesn't have to rely on the customer to subside their wage. Depending on where you come from you thoughts may differ from this. I didn't like being called a lair, but from his other comments I don't think he is that smart anyway, and really his opinion don't matter to me, I know I have done the right thing in my opinion.

  5. Two of the cruises we went on had really bad reviews. We had a fantastic time on both trips, and one was P & O. A cruise is what you make of it yourself. You can't possibly make everyone happy all of the time. I wrote reviews on both these cruises and they were very positive, yet there were other people from the same cruise writing terrible reviews. I say read them, they might give you some tips and advice, put it wouldn't stop me from going on a cruise. I hope that helps.

  6. I have booked a Christmas cruise on Sea Princess. I have booked an inside cabin facing the "wrong" way. We have also decided on twin beds for more room. Is this the way to go? Also where is the best "quite" spot?

    Thanks

  7. I would love some information about the following pots - 4 Lifou, New Caledonia, 5 Luganville, Vanuatu, 7 Port Denarau, Fiji and 8 Suva, Fiji 7.

Can you walk from the port into town? Or do you have to hire a taxi, is the good snorkeling near the port or do you have to go on a tour or hire a taxi? What's the best thing you have done in any of these ports?

    Thanks
