  1. We just returned off the Legend last night. There was no theater added. Guys burger bar, Alchemy, blue iguana cantina, red frog rum bar and the tequila bar you could tell were brand new. Disappointed in the hours of the tequila bar. Several times we went specifically to this one and it was closed. Not sure why. This ship is showing some aging as we noticed there were many lights that were burned out in the MDR and just general wear and tear. They did tell us that they were still working hard to get it all polished up etc. We had a couple of lights out in our stateroom. Didn’t complain about it as we didn’t go to just stay in the room. The weather was perfect. Sunny the whole time except in Ketchikan it was cloudy and a slight mist in the air. We had a great time. Comedians were good and food was too! If you have any questions, please ask.

Thanks for the update. Is there a serenity deck on the Legend?

  2. We would like to snorkel Shark Ray Alley and Coral Gardens. I have read most of the reviews and I am wondering if Splash Wave Tours, Shore Excursioneer and Coral Breeze are the same companies? (as was mentioned in some posts). Which of these 3 would you recommend? Any feedback on Ecotours or Belize Exotic Adventures? We would like to maximize our snorkelling time and are not interested in going to Goff's Caye.

    Thanks!

  3. Just got off the Legend on Sunday. Bannister Island is closed because of a murder (see other thread on this). We went to Spanish Lookout beach with a tour company (Fabtours) and would not recommend it. more of a lagoon than a beach.

  4. Well, it seems like most of the nice downtown hotels are booked so after going through the reviews (thanks everyone, especially Ken and MsSimba) I think we will try the Airport/WestShore area. The Embassy Suites Airport seem good (although there were some awful reviews on TripAdvisor) Ken, can I bother you again for your opinion? Once again, thanks for all the info.

  5. Thanks again, Ken! We'll try those.

I know you mentioned that around Busch Gardens is not a good place to stay. Are there any other areas of Tampa to avoid?(in the downtown, Ybor City or Airport areas) Also, if we end up not getting a room near the Pier, what would yur next choice be?

Thanks again for all your patience in answering our questions!

  6. Thanks for all your info!

We need a room for Mar 14, 2009. We wanted to stay right at the pier so we could get up in the morning and walk (or take a quick cab ride) to our ship (Carnival Legend) I believe Terminal 2. I tried Embassy Suites and Marriot Waterside and both show no rooms available! Is there a chance they might have rooms "released later"? Are there any others you would suggest?

  7. This Legend thread has amazing info but I am having a difficult time getting through it all so these questions might be repeats.

Does somebody have a copy of the recent Capers?

What did you think of the layout (as opposed to Conquest class ships)?

Is there a big screen on the Lido deck?

    How were the buffet lineups?

How did you like Camp Carnival being on Dec 5 instead of a higher deck?

Thanks, I'm sure I'll have more later.

  8. We are trying to decide between the Legend and the Valor. We have been on both Spirit class and Conquest class ships but are always looking for feedback! Ports of call are the same but not sure which to choose? We will be bringing our 5 year old (who loves Camp Carnival) and my parents who are first time cruisers and who just want to have a relaxing time (they will not be into all the "Lido Deck activities") Thoughts?

    Thanks!
