  1. Going on cruise in 2 weeks I know the Atlantic is getting active I’ve been on cruises in the past during tropical storms with some rough seas and it didn’t bother us. Question is is there one medication better than another one. How do you take it

  2. We like dressing up on formal night as we have a lot of chances to do it at home. Unfortunately Disney doesn’t really enforce their rules I’ve seen cut offs and t-shirts with A/C on the front the next night it was Led Zeppelin pretty funny seeing their table mates in suit jackets and dresses.

As far as decks go, some people like to avoid deck 10 since it's under the pool deck. I've been on deck 8 on the Magic, which has the same position, and really didn't find it an issue. On the Dream and Fantasy, we love the aft staterooms, since they have the oversized balconies. The vibration is really only an issue when docking.

As far as balconies go, we won't sail without one. But you'll get different opinions. Some people say that you don't spend much time in your stateroom, but since you're traveling with a toddler, I can see you spending some time in you room for nap time. We're in the sailing without kids category, and we spend enough time in our room to get time to enjoy the balcony. We love ordering room service and eating out there. In the evening, when we go back to the room, we'll sit out there and read a while before turning in. So, it really comes down to your budget, and your needs. When we've sailed with our adult children, we've taken an inside stateroom for them (I know, we're terrible parents 😄) and would get them extra KTTW cards so that they could come into our room.

We always stay mid ship with a balcony I think it’s worth it. Nice to sit and relax before bed time.

  4. Going on the fantasy in September last time was 2018 have the shows changed.  Unfortunately I had an heart attack and didn’t enjoy all the actives I was tired for about 3 weeks before our cruise and it continued for 2 weeks after. Went to ER and found out I had had an heart attack that is why I’m taking my wife for a redo as she is a Disney freak. Also can you still get Mickeys ice cream bars through room service.
    Thanks in advance

  5. Booked on the Fantasy we have always stayed mid-ship. After seeing my conformation it shows solid white wall Verandah and shows Oversize Verandah some with Whitewall. I know there is a white wall between the cabins but does this mean we wont see the water from sitting on the chairs or will we have to stand to see the water. Any disadvantage being on the rear of the ship. Does it rock more than mid-ship

    Thanks

  6. Looking I see you can get a 6 pack of beer for $30 that’s not bad price in my opinion it’s $5 per can do they charge tax and add a tip to the cost and is it in your fridge when you on the ship. Is the fridge in your room empty or stocked I want to put wine in the fridge

  7. There are two ways to get to the shopping center....you can take a bus to the Marketplace area of Downtown Disney' date=' and from there walk down the row of "good neighbor" hotels (Hilton, Doubletree, etc). Cross the highway at the light at the end of the row and you are in the shopping center. There is a traffic light; crossing is no problem. Alternatively, you can take a bus from any of the parks to one of these hotels (they are NOT the Disney buses; just ask the transportation people where the stop is). Look at a map to determine which hotel is closest to the shopping center and hop over from there. I've walked it from Marketplace and it isn't bad....but it would feel like a long walk back if you are carrying much.

To get to Disney Springs, just take one of the Disney buses that goes there. There is no charge for the Disney buses..in case this is your first trip and you don't know how the transportation system works.

Another possibility, of course, would be to cancel your DCL transfers to the port and do a one way car rental. That way you could stop at a more reasonably priced liquor store on the way to the port![/quote']

Stupid question can you cancel a portion of port transfer and take the Disney back from the port. Is there any car rental companies on Disney properties

  8. Disney Springs is a section of what was Downtown Disney--the bus will get you there. Don't want to pay Disney prices? There is a shopping center with a grocery and wine store across the street from the "Good Neighbor" hotels.

Where would that be we are staying on Disney property

  9. Yes, there are a couple of liquor stores (wine included) near Disney Springs. ABC Fine Wine & Spirits, and Gooding's Liquor Store.

Also, a couple of wine shops in World Showcase (France & Italy).

When you say near Disney Springs is it walking distance we won’t have a car

  10. Going to start our trip at Disney World for 2 days pre- cruise. Don’t feel safe putting wine in our luggage on our way to Disney World question is is there any place downtown Disney we can buy wine to carry on the cruise if not do they sell bottles that we can take to our cabin I know the liquor you buy on the ship you get it on the last night. I just don’t want to take a chance the wine being broke flying down

  11. It is a normal cruise just longer than most.

Booze package would be horrific, like $4000 each.

We got what we think was a decent deal on the cruise at $3400 or so each inc taxes, about $70 per diem, but no OBC of any kind.

And that is the cheapest inside guarantee cabin.

That’s no as bad as I thought. Did you get board on a 49 day cruise how many sea days. I’m sure you have to do laundry a few times. With everything looking around 12,000 for a couple.

  12. Various perks for return cruisers is an industry norm, is not exclusive to DCL, and is not influenced in any way by what they offer (rather, don't offer) at their parks.

As others have said, there should definitely be availability for various tastings and dining when you get on board. Beverage tastings in particular are a new addition to the online booking system - before last year you HAD to wait until you were on the ship to reserve them. My experience has been that there may be tastings available on board that were not listed online, or at least spaces left to get a ticket.

The time that you select your activities is also important. Did you jump online at exactly midnight EST the day that your booking window opened?

It sounds like you're trying to let these things affect your cruise - worst case, you will still be able to see all the shows, visit Castaway Cay, experience the different dining rooms, spend time in the various bars and lounges, make memories with your family. I understand your disappointment, but some alcohol tastings and adult dining don't make the cruise :)

Correct. Standard tastings - mixology, wine, beer, etc - are around $20. Chocolate and liquor is slightly more.

This cruise is just me and my wife so we were interested in some adult activities. We like the whole Disney thing and she had always wanted to do an Disney cruise. Hope it’s as nice as everyone says it is. 3 sea days so hope to relax. I have a very stressful job so it will be nice to leave the work phone at home
