Could it because there are different deals offered in the US vs Canada? Could it because they were sent out on different dates and while similar looking are actually different offers?
You're probably right on that P. Thanks

Was the promo code the same? Mine was "CARIB"
Doubled checked the OBC and we're the same. It's just the flight but it must be because I would be flying in from Canada. :halo:

Yes

Was considering stepping up from Celebrity to Viking then recently received a Viking email offering free air + $400 per person obc using promo code "CARIB". The promo is good on new bookings made through June 30th on 6 sailings:
10/18/18 NYC - Miami
10/24/ 18 NYC - San Juan
11/17/18 & 2/7/19 Miami - LA
11/22/18 & 12/13/18 Miami - LA
Just booked the Star 10/18/18 sailing. Got the free air, $800 obc and 3.3% discount for paying by e-check. On top of this TA is throwing in a loyalty credit. DW is very happy.
That's odd. I received the same promo email but our flight is not free and our OBC is less than yours for the exact same voyage.

Thanks Paul! We’re booked in a DV.

Out of curiosity, is chocolate milk offered on board? Inquiring minds want to know. [emoji6]

If I may add, my husband and I will be celebrating our 25th wedding wedding anniversary on our first Viking ocean cruise however it will be our 16th cruise overall. I'm 49 and hubby is 48. We are so looking forward to experiencing a low-key and relaxing holiday.

Hi - is there a self-serve soft ice cream machine on the Anthem of The Seas?

I am really not a fan of ice cream, gelato, frozen yogurt, whatever. One of the servers was trying to get me to try the rum raisin but I refused it because I don't like alcohol in my food. The next night we were in the Chef's Table restaurant and the dessert that came with the meal was, you got it, rum raisin. I decided to try it and I was so mad at myself for not trying it the night before. Unbelievably good. It was never served again. I was told that the specialty gelato's are served once per cruise so if you see a flavor that interests you, go for it. I ended up getting gelato many times on the ship. It really is amazing.
Sounds delicious [emoji39]

It would help to prevent confusion [although at my age you can never be sure ] if you would edit your CC profile to indicate where you are from. It will affect some answers [as in this case], and you can be as vague and general as you like to protect your privacy [just "Canada" would be a big help]
Will do! Thanks for the tip!!

I can't recall ever trying gelato so I'm looking forward to trying it on board. I think I've seen sorbet being offered on the menus. Does the same go for ice cream? Any suggestions, favourites? [emoji509]

Hi - just wondering if this is common practice on Viking Cruises?
Thanks!

Is the menu posted outside of the MDR every day so that if they are serving lobster you will know ahead of time? Just curious.

Thank you for your feedback everyone. We have decided to go with a 3rd party. My father's health hasn't been the best and both he and my mother in law are quite older in age hence the main reason why we would require cancellation insurance.

Hello all,
I'm just wondering if this is worth it or is it best to go with a third party. Your experience is most appreciated!
Thanks.

Thank you Steve! Can't wait to check it out. We're taking our first ocean cruise on The Viking Sun this fall.

Thank you for your help! Much appreciated. :-)

What is the exact date you need a room? Hilton Garden in Ridgefield Park is fine, but I'd like to check prices at Newark Airport because of the easy access to I78(NJ Turnpike extension) to the Holland Tunnel.
Oct. 21st

It all depends on how much money you want to spend. What is your budget? I personally like the Jersey City Newport area which is probably more expensive, but a lot nicer than Brooklyn. What hotel were you considering?
Just spotted the Holiday Garden Inn in Ridgefield Park for $122 per night. I'm assuming that this could be a cheaper option too? Distance to Red Hook?
Thanks you!! I appreciate your help.

We were thinking about The Westin or Hyatt Regency in Jersey City. Thoughts? Rates are comparable with Brooklyn considering that our dollar is 30% more than the USD. $250 +- USD/Night is reasonable.
I was a little apprehensive about getting lost to Red Hook but since you said that it was only 6.5 miles away, there is less margin for error. :)
If we do decide on Jersey City, what time should we depart on Saturday morning?

Do you recommend staying in Jersey City the night before?

I highly doubt that they will allow you to purchase for one meal and share two. I think what she meant was that they shared but purchased one meal at $12 and the other at $22...
