  1. We were on this cruise and it was the first time in more than 25 cruises that we've caught Noro. We figured our luck finally ran out. I caught it on day 3 and my spouse 30 hours later. We're very good about washing hands and not touching things, but as of today the count for ill people is 281. This is probably low since not everyone-myself included, calls down to Medical and tells them they are feeling ill. I bring my own medication to take care of times like this just in case. Our cabin steward called for someone to disinfect the room after each of us became ill. The second time he did it himself because they were too busy to come.

We ate as little as possible in the buffet and didn't mind being served. It's cleaner than self serve. Hand washing stations would be better than the hand sanitizer being offered before meals.

The salt and pepper shakers, and sugar containers were removed from the buffet, but not the Club Class section of the dining room.

I first thought I had just eaten something that my system didn't like. It's happened before-lasts a few hours and goes away. This wasn't like that at all. When the captain announced that we were a Noro virus outbreak probably brought onboard I knew what I had.

Next time I'll take stronger hand sanitizer, use more forks and stay away from the buffet. I was very thankful I didn't get ill right  before we were to drive home. I couldn't have driven 5 hours feeling as badly as I did the first day I was sick.

Thanks for all the information. Good luck to all who are going on the Ruby in the next couple of weeks.

  2. We are driving  from San Antonio tomorrow on the Houston toll road and I-45 to Webster, staying the night and heading over to Galveston Sunday morning to get on the Ruby Princess. We looked up traffic construction on I-45 and it looked like there was a lot going on then. Can anyone tell us if we can get through on I-45 to Webster like we usually do or we should find another way? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  3. I went to the web version, then to the suggested items but didn't find an item for choosing  a check in time. You're right I don't have a smart phone, or tablet, but I do have a pc which I'm using now to write this. I don't mind being the blue lane, but did want to know when to arrive. I guess I could just show up around 1.

  4. I'm 3 weeks away from sailing. I'm in the blue lane and don't have apps. The paperwork says the ship starts boarding at 12:30 pm. Where do I find a time to pick for arrival? It doesn't show up in the suggested list. This is for Ruby Princess out of Galveston.

  5. I have filled out what information I can for being Ocean Ready-without an app. but can't find anyplace  for an arrival time. Do they not have this any more? Do we just show up anytime? Thanks for your help.

  6. I am trying to fill in the information to be Ocean Ready for my Ruby Princess cruise next month. I have been able to fill out all the required steps except the passage contract. I read it,but there is no box to check at the bottom of the page. When I go back a page and try to check that I've read it I just get the same pop up with the passage contract that I just read. I'm about 50 days out, do I need to wait until closer to the cruise or am I missing something? This is not being done on an app but a regular web page. Any help appreciated.
