I am a 43 year old school teacher.........and I LOVED the flowrider. I did not think it painful....it was kind of like going down a water slide, once you fell. On the first day, go to the desk right by the Flowrider. Sign your waiver. Then, each day you quickly go back and get a new wristband, letting the worker know that you have signed the waiver. It is very quick and easy......IF you go FIRST thing each morning. I think the best time to go is first thing in the morning.....as soon as it opens. The lines move very quickly at this time. Once all the teenagers wake up, the line is CRAZY! Also....more more bit of advice: If you are female, wear a t-shirt over your swim suit........you'll be able to see why, once a few teenagers in 2 piece suits go down.
Here is a link to show you that even "chicken first grade teachers" can do it!
Thanks for posting! I love your video. You did great! You give me hope that I can do it. I'm 44 and in good shape. I'm going to try and climb the rock wall also. Can't wait! :D

We are cruising with our best friends and would love to be able to open the partition in between our balconies. Do you know if they allow that on the Freedom?

Jo, have you seen a gastro doc? Mine has been a HUGE help to me in figuring out how to treat me. My family physician was at a loss because we tried everything he could think of. A good gastro doc will listen and figure out what's best for you. Good luck!

I have it also. It is NOT fun! I'm on a lot of medication for it because mine makes my stomach and esophagus spasm. I avoid alcohol, fried foods, salad (oh, how I miss it!) and raw veggies. I just ate a Granny Smith apple and now my tummy is hurting so bad. What's really crazy is that the good foods always hurt my tummy, but the bad stuff (white bread, etc.) are OK. Good luck!

I've also been using SP for a while. I only have one problem. SP can suck up ALOT of time before you realize it. I have to limit the number of conversations I'm on or before I know it my house is hip deep in junk, I haven't exercised and the kids are eating eachother for dinner.:o

I've been using sparkpeople for a long time now. It is really a great site and has really helped me keep up with my calorie intake and exercise. I still can't believe it is free! :D

Robertas on the Mariner is my favorite. I think he is from Croatia. He made a dining experience fabulous! Robertsas even played a joke on one of our tablemates who gave him a hard time all week. He pretended to spill a full cup of coffee on him. It was great! We also really enjoyed our waiter on our very first cruise on Carnival Destiny. His name was Sunny from Indonesia. He was hilarious.

Thanks for the tips! Did you use your arms or legs more when climbing the wall? I lift weights so maybe I won't be so sore, but if I am, no biggie. ;) I'm sure I'll be using muscles that I don't use at the gym.
