You really can't go wrong with just about any restaurant in NOLA, except for a few that I always warn people to stay away from : Oceana, Gumbo Shop, Mothers and Court of Two Sisters. Thy are all pretty nasty tourist traps.

We had Jorge as our guide too, he actually is a professor at the University, he studied a lot of history, he really knows his stuff! I printed out Blexie's standard itinerary and added a few things, Jorge was happy to oblige! This was the itinerary I put together:
PART ONE:
Walking tour around old colonial section of Havana
4 Main Squares
· Plaza de Armes
· Plaza Vieja
· Plaza de an Francisco de Assisi
· Plaza de Catedral
Castilo de la Real Fureza
Backstreets of Old Havana (suitable for Humanitarian purpose- gift giving)
Break for lunch at a Palador (private restaurant)(Optional)
PART TWO:
Drive along the Malecon area to
Nacional Hotel
· Bunkers underneath hotel
Fusterlandia
El Bosque de la Habana
Cristobal Colon Cemetary
John Lennon Park (Statue 17th & 6th)
Plaza de Revolution
Drive to down town area
Capitol Building
· Central Park
Grand Theatre of Havana- Need to see at night too
Bacardi Building

Santa maria del Mar is about 20-30 minutes from Havana. You can take a taxi there. No charge for the beach. There are several hotels in the area and some restaurants and bars.
