  1. In April on the Explorer and May on the Adventure….there were NO actual “rings” in the onion rings served in JR. They were tiny tiny chopped onions in the batter. You couldn’t actually see them but they did taste onion-y. Certainly not like they used to be when there was an actual onion ring inside the crusted batter.

Fellow cruiser recommended $7 Brightline parking in Miami or Ft. Lauderdale.  Has anyone tried these ramps with any satisfaction?

I believe Brightline offers parking to Brightline Train ticket holders only.

A while back, I thought there was a thread indicating Royal had transportation available if you were disembarking a ship in FLL and boarding another one of their ships in MIA the same day. I recall someone indicated to check with Guest Services mid week and they would arrange it. I’ve searched and can’t find the thread. Am I having a false memory?  🙂 Otherwise, we’ll take Uber/Lyft from one port to the other. TIA

I did this two weeks ago…went from the Symphony in Miami to the Allure at Port Everglades. I let Customer Service know the second day on the Symph. Followed up again on the fifth day. I was given a special number luggage tag, disembarked at a specific time, got luggage, went through customs and went outside. Asked where the RC busses were and walked over there. Make sure you get on the port to port bus. We stopped at the Ft L airport first, then we went to the port. All in all it was easy.

  4. I just called RC to downgrade from a balcony cabin to an inside cabin (for a reason) and the rep told me the price would not change since it’s after final payment. There is a $500 difference. I thought the difference would be given back in OBC. Is this true or did I speak with a rep that didn’t know the correct answer?

Yes.  There will be a bus.  No charge.  Arrange at guest services on your first cruise. This was in March but I'm sure they are still doing it.  You will need to wait a bit but you can't board the second cruise right away anyway.

Thank you. I hope you’re right. If not I’ll take Brightline to Ft L with a free shuttle to the port. (Commuter train)

  6. We use Brightline all the time to go,from West Palm to Ft L or Mia ports.
Both stations you asked about are in the downtown area of the cities. The Ft L Brightline station has a free shuttle to the Ft L airport and to, not from, the port. I believe Miami also has an airport shuttle.
typical cab fare from Port Everglades to BL is about $20.
you might be better off checking out TriRail. TR has a free shuttle bus from the Ft L airport station and back. Taxi to the Ft L TR station is about $20.
also, check out commercial shuttle services.

Our excursion was snorkeling with the turtles, then a beach break.  This is the same excursion we did in October, and loved it.  Shot a lot of video, but these are just a couple frame extracts

we snorkeled at the beach break and I have a lot of video I haven’t pulled frames from yet, but lots of colorful fish.

I was on that excursion also. It was great and the young man narrating was very informative. Would do it again just to see the turtles again.
