  1. When in doubt, split up during the security check.  You go through one line with your two bottles and your partner goes through another line with their two bottles.  We did that back in the day when Celebrity clearly stated two bottles per stateroom.  Yes, we cheated.

  2. As @h20cruzerstates, you can look on YouTube for the cabin and search any of the Royal class ships to get an idea of what the cabin may look like.  The video above should accurately show what the interior of A734 will like as it will look very much the same as D726.  However, the balcony on Aloha is much narrower than the balcony on Dolphin deck.  It is still a nice, curved balcony just not very deep.

  3. Realized it was me and my ignorance of the Medallion app which was preventing me from booking specialty restaurant reservations.   So, if this helps anyone, this is my step-by-step to booking.

*Click on the dining icon on the app (picture of a clock, plate & dining utensils).  This loads the Dine My Way page.

*Click on the second choice: View or book individual daily reservations.  This brings up each day of the cruise along the top.

*Select which day you are booking the reservation by scrolling along the top and clicking the day you desire.

*Click on the block entitled:  Evening:  Add Reservation

*Click on which guests to add.

*Click on Continue.  This brings up the specialty restaurants eligible for reservations.

*Click on the Select time and then scroll to the time you want to dine and click on it.

*Click on Select this Table under the restaurant you want to book.  If this does not show up on your restaurant of choice, no reservations are available at that time.

Once you select the restaurant and time, the app asks for a credit card for payment.

There are still a lot of choices for our cruise thank goodness.

  5. Our cruise is in early December and is fully paid.  We are Platinum and booked in a full suite.  Whenever I go on to the Medallion app, I get a message that reads, "Please check back closer to your journey date to use this feature."  It appears that Princess is very inconsistent in when to allow passengers to book specialty dining.  Our cruise appears to be close to full and I do not want to miss out on our promotional specialty dining.  Will keep checking.

  6. We used OnPoint last night for our cruise sailing out today (August 1).  We made two appointments and took the test separately even though it stated we could have tested together.  When you purchase the virtual appointment you need to pay for the test and then the site links you to an appointment.  The first appointments offered to us were 30 minutes out.   We booked the first one.  An email was sent which had a link to register.  You need to have the purchase number and a code sent with the email to get registered.  During this registration there is a question regarding insurance and like others on this site, we just stated we did not have any insurance.  Upon completion of the registration, we waited for the zoom meeting to open.  The process itself was simple.  They did not ask for any identification.  Walked us through the test process.  While waiting for the results the proctor asked several questions regarding where we were testing from.  They needed to know the time zone we were in so they could put that on the form.  Also asked why we were testing, i.e., travel, flight or cruise.  Stated that if we we flying, they could link results to our passport.  We were not, so declined this step.  After a few minutes, the proctor asked to see the results.  The proctor had a bit of difficulty seeing my results and kept saying that he saw two lines when it clearly only showed one line.  After a few attempts to get the results positioned so he could see it clearly, he declared I was negative.  He verified my email and within a couple of minutes of disconnecting from the Zoom meeting, we had the results.  The whole process took well under 15 minutes.  Please note that the test results are not as easily found on the pdf like others we have taken.  We may have to assist Celebrity in locating the results.  But that is just a minor inconvenience as we will have printed documents.

As a side note, like @Jim_lain, I never received a confirmation for one of the appointments and had to purchase another virtual meeting.  I have requested a refund from OnPoint several times but have not had a response as of yet.  We will most likely need to protest with our credit card.

  7. @FirstTeacher

We will be on the Iceland/Ireland cruise on August 1st as well.  How did you find the weather in Iceland?  We are beginning to plan what to pack for this trip but did not know how cold Iceland may be.  I check weather forecasts which show lower 50's and 40% chances of rain.  Did you need a heavy coat or just layers and a rain jacket?

Thanks for any advice you may have.  Can't wait for this cruise as it was canceled twice already.

  8. We enjoyed the restaurant and frankly, had the best cooked steak I have ever had on a cruise.  I failed to pay attention to the storyline and kept moving my plate.  The server had to keep moving it back so the lights would show properly.   It was good to try but not something I would do again.

  9. We've used Flights by Celebrity on several occasions and have always been able to select our seats.  We have used American, United and Delta and all have allowed us to pick our seats and, yes, those were the seats we had when we boarded the flight.  On one occasion, we had to call the airline itself to book our seats, and, on another occasion, we called Flights by Celebrity to get our seats booked.  I agree with a previous poster in that I will not book a flight and hope for the best when it comes to seat assignment.  I want to pick out my own seat.  Several times after booking we have been notified by the airline that changes were made to the flight, which at times meant a change in the plane.  The airline then picked new seats for us, but we could go back into the airline website and change them.  We have always been quite satisfied with Flights by Celebrity, especially on one-way flights.

Yeah, that was crazy!  It was E631.

It was scary being awakened like that.  While coming back to the ship today we encountered Princess crew removing someone in a body bag.  Very sad to see and I couldn't help but wonder if this was the same passenger they had alarmed us about.  I think it must have been a mistake to alarm all passengers instead of just alarming the emergency medical response team.  In all our years of cruising we have never heard such an announcement.

  11. Received Specialty Dining as a promotion during a Princess sale.  Says it will be in the form of a voucher.  We are also booked in a full suite and understand we can get a complementary Specialty Dining on embarkation day.  When I try to book Specialty Dining reservations on the app, a $58 credit clearly shows up on embarkation day only, but no additional credits are given for other Specialty Dining bookings or other days of the cruise.  So, I am assuming the $58 credit in the app is for the suite benefit since it is only given on embarkation day.  (Of course, I may be wrong in my assumption.)  Does anyone know if the promotional Specialty Dining can only be booked on-board once we have the voucher in hand or should we go ahead and book it on the app and hope that a refund will be issued through the voucher?  Just confusing to me and we have not sailed with Princess in many years.  Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Ordered the tests as could not find anything local for the Rapid Antigen test. Looked this morning and several local CVS Minute clinics now taking reservations up to 4 days out. Have till mid November for the cruise, so glad to have the tests in hand, but would prefer using local if possible.

We have our Rapid tests ordered through Optum.  But like you, we have an appointment at CVS for our test the Sunday before we sail.  The CVS out here schedules the testing up to 2 weeks in advance.  We feel confident that if CVS cancels our appointments (as some on this site have reported), we will still have time to take the home test.

  13. If you go in to book the cruise and do not find the cabin you desire, just type in the cabin number in the upper right corner of the page where it states:  Look up stateroom.  I have been surprised here of late to see how many times the cabin I want shows up to book.  226943580_Screenshot(31).thumb.png.dc259e462bf3fbf84abc8f99caa6f645.png

Good luck getting the cabin you want.
