  1. A few years back, we were on a Jewel Repositioning out of Boston, and there was a Noreaster (spelling?) We knew it was bad when they started closing the portholes but didn't realise how bad until I attended the Captains talk the next day. Apparently all the senior staff spent that night on the bridge with the Capt, for we HAD 40 FT SEAS:eek: Also had some hail the next morning, Thankfully, we had a cabin midship, on the hump:)

  2. I just checked the RCCL website and our cabin's been assigned to a D2, #7534 on the Adventure. It's a little more forward on the ship than we're used to. Anyone know if we should expect more motion there? It's the southern Carib, March 18th cruise so hopefully we won't experience rough seas but maybe we should ask for a cabin more in the center or aft.

Not a bad deal though - we paid for outside cabins (no balcony), and were upgraded to a balcony gty, and now to a Superior D2 on deck 7.

If you can shed any light on the location of this cabin and what you think we'll have in the way of motion, please let me know. My husband can get motion sick if it's too rough.

Sorry, I can't help you with location info, but I believe you have the larger size balcony. As in D's are larger than E's so YOU GUYS MADE OUT! Your ship is so large, I bet motion for hubby won't be a problem.

    Upgrade fairy alive and well!

    HAVE TOO MUCH FUN!

  3. Valerie,

The drinks in the cooler are free.

Rum punch, you say. Lucky you.

One word of advice. We stopped on the side of the road for a picture stop, and there were local vendors selling their own local jewelry.

Don't pay the $$ they quote, bargain. Hubby ended getting a tigers eye with black stone necklace for himself, and had them throw a pair of earings in for me. icon_wink.gif

  4. After reading a recommendation on a tour guide taken by a previous cruiser, I decided to email cosol966@hotmail.com.

He will take you in a late model van, with a/c, on a wonderful day tour, taylored to what you want to do and see. We went to the waterfall, volcano, saw the Pitons, Marigot Bay, drove thru local villages, shopping for local goods, and we wanted to go snorkeling, so found us a great area (beach) that was also a resort. Now cruise lines can't do that. And it was $30.00pp.

I also must mention that he is an excellent driver and lots of fun.

He does provide a cooler with soda, water and beer!
