Yes, I pay double too BUT it’s less expensive than say Oceania or Viking or Regent (which would be my preference).  But better quality than Royal Caribbean or Norwegian.  I prefer a smaller ship - the Pinnacle class ships are great for the dining venues but the number of passengers overwhelm many ports.  I miss the Prinsendam and the other smaller ships they got rid of during the pandemic.

Loved the Prisendam!  My favorite in the line!

  2. I am currently on the sailing.  Ship wide air conditioning was not working yesterday but since sailing has been working.  I am in a SB category wrap aft and balcony is in bad shape with wood still missing on balcony rail and other maintenance issues.  My bathroom toilet was not flushing yesterday and after repair still did not function but is working after this mornings repair.  Crew is fantastic and service is fabulous.  This cruise has a lot of families and children onboard due to the holidays.  I am sailing this ship again in May so I am very interested in the ships condition.  Pinnacle Grill Menu has changed and not to the good..I miss the crab legs.  Also they have moved to charging passengers with a drink package the difference in price plus gratuity if you purchase outside of the package limit.

  3. Andy, just to be clear and save confusion as the OP was talking about breakfast room service, it's not available 24 hours a day. Here's the post to the thread with times on the sheet.

    Thank you very much.

The following items are prohibited. So I think kettles would be considered as prohibited.

I bring a thermos bottle (hydro flask brand), that I fill with hot water, tea and lemon (at the drink station in Windows Cafe) and bring back to my cabin (along with a mug), for those late night teas (camomile for me). The tea stays hot for hours.

    PROHIBITED ITEMS

Firearms & ammunition, including realistic replicas

Sharp objects, including knives and scissors (Personal grooming items such as safety razors and scissors with blades less than 4 inches are allowed)

    Illegal drugs & substances

    Candles & incense

Coffee makers, clothes irons, & hot plates

Baseball bats, hockey sticks, cricket bats, bows & arrows

    Skateboards & surfboards

    Martial arts gear

Self-defense Gear, including handcuffs, pepper spray, night sticks

Flammable liquids and explosives, including lighter fluid and fireworks

    HAM radios

Dangerous chemicals, including bleach and paint

On other lines, Celebrity, Rccl, Princess and HAL as long as they have an auto shutoff they are permitted. I can only drink Decaf Coffee and love a certain kind so I may risk it. I may just buy coffee at Edinburgh airport and try the drink station though to do a pour over brew.
