We were told by a crew member that the area off of Chill Beach is the best spot.  She said something about a wreckage in the water or something.  We found out too late in the day for us to check it out, but we will definitely keep it in mind for the next trip.

Hello.  Can you please tell me what is included at Coco Cay and what you have to pay for?  My husband and I are going in July.  Looking for spending time at the beach and the pool.  Will not be doing the waterslides, etc., but do want to use the pool.  Thanks!

  2. We had a 9:50 AM flight off the Allure in October and were at the airport by 7 AM. We were in express line with our luggage at 6 AM. No issues at all. I agree it is risky. No doubt we could have missed our flight. We are doing it again in January coming off the Freedom. The other flight times are way too late for us. I will say this. Getting off the ship is always an issue. The whole process stinks and you have to wait in lines. Getting off super early alleviates all of the stress.

  3. I just got off the Allure two weeks ago and walked off the ship with our luggage. Had a 9:40 AM flight. We were in line at 6 AM on Deck 5 Promenade by the two huge doors right next to the Champagne Bar across from Guest Services. Off ship by 6:30 and at airport by 7. Breakfast was not an option for us but I do remember that breakfast is only available early. I think it's done by 8-8:30 AM.

  4. Hello! My husband and I are sailing on the January 14th 2018 Freedom of the Seas out of FLL. The ship returns on January 20th and there will be 6 total ships in port that day. Freedom docks at 5:30 AM. Any idea what time (approximately) we can walk off the ship with our luggage? Has anyone done this? I want to schedule an earlier flight but not sure if they start walk offs early. I just got back from the Allure and we docked early and got off early and at the airport by 7. Alleviates all of the stress of debarkation and waiting in lines. Hoping the Freedom is the same way. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

  5. Honestly anything on 17th Street is good! Did you check rates for the Holiday Inn Express?

No. I did not know the Holiday Inn Express was there. I'll check it out. We have always liked the Embassy Suites but several people have commented how dated it is. Wondering if we should switch to the Hyatt Place, Riverside, or Hyatt or Hilton on the waterway. We are booked there right now. $215 total with taxes and it includes picking us up at the FLL airport and taking us to the port. Good price for October. Just wondering how busy this time of year is there and if it would make sense to take a cab or uber to the port.

  6. While I like Duffys and the food is good, I would head to either LuLus or Flip Flops for better atmosphere. Flip Flops is on the Intracoastal Waterway and the view is great. LuLus is oceanfront and a lot of fun. Both have amazing water views.

BlueHerons - we are going on the Allure in October. What hotel would you recommend? We usually stay at the Embassy Suites on 17th. We are not getting in until 7 PM the night before. Thanks!

  7. PARADISE BEACH !!! We went a few years ago. Place is amazing. People are so nice. You will get assigned a host who will take care of you and make sure all of your needs are met. Omar was fabulous when we were there and was not intrusive. We paid $3 to get in which included beach chairs. All they ask is that you spend $10 per person on food and/or drink. We took 7 people there, ate lunch, kids had a few drinks, and our bill was $180 at the end of the day. Cost $40 round trip for the taxi. Can't beat it! There is plenty of shade if you want it at the beach. For a fee of around $15, your kids can purchase a band to do all the water toys in the ocean. They also have a gigantic pool with bar. It's truly a hidden gem and a paradise to say the least. The grounds are amazing and well taken care of. I strongly recommend Paradise Beach. You will have a wonderful day.

  8. Hello, hubby and I need ideas on what beach and/or pool to go to in Falmouth in October. Looking at Blue Waters Beach Club, Red Stripe, or the pool at Margaritaville. Need chairs, umbrella, and American fare food. We do not drink alcohol. Went to Doctor Cave's last time. It was ok. Too far from ship. Not opposed to paying for anyplace that is really nice. Just don't want to ride too far to get there. Suggestions? Appreciate your help!

  9. I would arrange transportation. It is a long ride to Doctors Cave Beach - 40 to 50 minutes. We used Dane Cook. He was awesome. Stayed with us the entire time. It's a nice beach but nothing to write home about. I personally would try something closer to Falmouth. We are going to Jamaica again in October and are going to try either Red Stripe Beach or Blue Waters Beach Club. All within 10-15 minutes of the port. Margaritaville is at the port too.

  10. Paradise Beach is larger than Mr. Sancho's and Nachi? I'm so confused. PB looks really nice, but I'm wondering if with entrance fee, food, and a few drinks I'll be right at the $55 AI cost anyway. All three look nice. Probably can't go wrong with any of them, but I do have 5 kids ages 26-21. We can get burgers and fries at all three? American food? OK which one has the nicest pool and beach or are they all the same? Snorkel from the beach?

How much do you know about Jamaica? Debating on Hilton Rose Hall all inclusive or Dr. Cave's Beach. Don't want to be bugged about buying things all day from locals. Thanks JohninDC for you help. Greatly appreciate it.

  11. We are cruising to Falmouth, Jamaica on the Oasis of the Seas on Tuesday, September 1st. Docks 10:30 am to 7 pm. Only ship in port that day. I have a family of 8: 55, 52, 26, 26, 23, 23, 21, and a 1.5 year old baby. We are picky eaters so looking for salads, burgers, and fries. I am confused and need direction. We want a beach and/or pool, restrooms, chairs, umbrellas/shade, and food/drink. Snorkeling from beach a bonus, and no rocky beach bottom. Don't want to deal with water shoes. Our crew loves banana boats as well. I don't want to be harassed on the beach to buy things every 15 minutes either.

Based on the above, what would you recommend? Should we reserve in advance? Approximately how much would it cost for a taxi? We like music as well but not a place that is playing music so loud you cannot hear yourself talk.

  12. Hello, we are going to Cozumel on the Oasis of the Seas on Thursday, September 3rd. Docks 8 am to 7 pm. Two other ships dock that day (Carnival Paradise and Freedom) but we arrive first. I have a family of 8: 55, 52, 26, 26, 23, 23, 21, and a 1.5 year old baby. We are picky eaters so looking for salads, burgers, and fries. I am confused and need direction. We want a beach, restrooms, chairs, umbrellas/shade, and food/drink. Snorkeling from beach a bonus, and no rocky beach bottom. Don't want to deal with water shoes. All inclusive would be great for the young adults but keep in mind we have a baby. Our crew loves banana boats as well. I've been looking at El Cozumeleno, Sabor, Nachi Cocom, Mr. Sanchos. All of these are around the same price and all look nice. Playa Mia looked good but their food choices do not work. Food looks awful for our group. Just saw something for Chankanaab National Park.

You seem extremely knowledgable so I'm reaching out to you.

  13. Which one would you recommend Scubagirl, or is there another resort we should be looking at? Where do you think the 20 year olds would enjoy the most? Keep in mind we won't be getting to the resort until 9 and we need to leave at 3 to get back to the ship by 3:30.

  14. We are going to be in Nassau on March 17 from 7 AM to 4 PM. Riu is $75 all inclusive and Hilton is $60 with a $40 food/drink voucher. Our group consists of 4 people in their early 50's, 6 people in their 20's, and a one year old.

    1) How much does it cost to get a cab to the Riu?

    2) How long does it take to get there?

    3) Can you walk to the Hilton or is it truly too far to walk?

    4) Hours of food & drink availability?

I heard the Hilton bar opens at 11 with food opening at 11:30?

    5) Comparison of beaches, pools, drinks, and food?

    6) How is Señor Frogs by the Hilton?

Any info would be greatly appreciated! :)
