  1. I love to wear simple, lightweight dresses on a cruise. I'll wear a black dress two nights on a 7 night cruise, and take 4-5 other dresses. I find they take up less room than pants and shirts, are simpler than having to match outfits, and they don't wrinkle! Plus if I gain a couple pounds, they are still comfortable, unlike pants that would be too snug in the waist by day 4!

I put my dresses in the suitcase still on the hangers, stacked on top of each other, and fold them over once. They go straight into the cabin closet when I get there - easy peasy!

All that said, to each her own on what you prefer. Just don't try to tell me dresses take up more room than pants and tops! 🙂

I do not believe that there any Lutheran Churches on St Kitts. There is an Anglican Church that is not to far away. You would want to take a taxi to it but is has an early service .https://www.facebook.com/stgeorgewithstbarnabasstkitts/

Thank you! I saw the Anglican church and we'll probably go there. I was under the impression it was within walking distance, but do you not think so? Or is it just not a good place to walk? Thanks again.

Can you catch the ferry to Klein Bonaire without an advance reservation?  Any worries getting back on time for a 1:30pm all aboard?  Can you walk to Ferry from Cruise port?

Wondering the same. Hope someone can answer!

We were in Bonaire on a previous Celebrity cruise, and only had an abbreviated time in port. We booked the junk, fascinating history about the owner and family. It sailed in a sheltered area, hardly a ripple. Snorkeling along the reef was spectacular. In November we're taking the Crown Princess which gives us a full day in port. This time, we have reserved a golf cart and plan to do a little touring and then head to Delfin's for the day.

Yes, crossing from St. T to St J can be rough.

What is "the junk?" Was it a sailboat or catamaran? Thank you!

Runaway Bay is right near Dickenson Bay but less crowded.  No water sports at Runaway, but a beach bar and chairs if you want that.  Beyond that beach bar scene, is a lovely empty beach.  Good swimming and walking beach.

Taxi fare was about $7 p/p each way.

"Lovely, empty beach" with a beach bar and chairs sounds exactly like what I'm looking for. Thank you!

The flamenco show at Triana Restaurant on Recinto St is not to be missed. They have a show every night but Monday. You have to spend minimum of $20 on food/drink. It's an incredible show. I've seen it 3 times and going again in Oct before my cruise. I bought the CD, too.

Thank you for the tip! I've always wanted to see a flamenco show. Did you need reservations? and do you remember what time the show started? Thanks!

We'll be there in a couple of weeks and have an island tour booked.  We did a similar tour some years ago so we will be able to compare how things are now to then.  We are going to the waterfalls, etc., as well as Champagne Bay.

We love this island, so glad to be able to tour there again and hopefully help the local economy.

Is Champagne Bay the same as the Champagne Reef? If so, we LOVED snorkeling there! I love Dominica, and hope the cruisers will help them recover.

  8. We had a similar disappointing experience on Summit last week. Also served after we had started eating, not refilled promptly, and disappointing choices. The first night, the young lady just served us the standard cheap wine, even though we all four had the Premium beverage package. We asked to be moved to a larger table for the rest of the cruise, and ended up in a different section. This guy, Erik, was even worse. We told him we had the premium package and would like to try some nice wines. Her also tried to serve us cheap wine, and even told us it was just as good. The third night, we asked for a specific wine, to which he said, "I don't think that's on your package." I told him I had checked, and that it was. To which he replied, "OH!! You have the premium package??" And it went on and on, every night arguing with him for good wine instead of what he already had opened. We had a great experience a few years ago, which was the main reason we sprung for the premium package. VERY disappointed.

  9. You catch the bus on Back Street - one way street that parallels Front Street and the Boardwalk with traffic heading east to west. There are marked bus stops on the street, but if you see a bus, just wave it down and it will stop. The bus is really a 15-passenger van with a placard in the window that will say "Maho Beach" or "Mullet Bay". Be sure to get the right one since there are other buses that go to the French side of the island.

Just hop on the bus and away you go. If you are going to Maho, the bus will drop you off at the round-about right at the road that goes in front of the runway. If you are going to Mullet Bay, it will take you to the parking lot. That is the last stop and then it turns around and heads back to town. You will pay as you exit. $2 a person each way. The drivers and any passengers are super friendly and will answer any questions you have. Just let them know where you are going and they will make sure you get there.

To get back to Philipsburg, just reverse the process - catching the bus either at the Mullet Bay parking lot or at the round-about by Maho Beach. I think a taxi is around $7 a person each way, but I have only ever taken the bus, so I don't know the price for sure.

Thank you so much! Sounds like a fun way to get there!
