Does this work for RoyalUp?

Have you ever been upgraded to a cabin that you did not like? For example because of the location? Would you bid for an upgrade if there are only few cabins available in the upgraded category and the location of those cabins are not necessarily the best locations?
I wouldn't. But, I still haven't won a bid that I didn't like. Most have worked out. I'm currently on the furthest point of the hump, I withdrew my spacious cabin bid because I don't want a crappy spot. I did keep my bids for JS and Suite. 2 more JS popped up and still about 10 suites are left. There were no JS past week, but I bet that some people that were in them won bids and got bumped to Suites.

Always wanted to try Asi y Asado ever since Guy Fieri was there. My understanding is they moved to a new location from the perimeter road on the corridor to somewhere else in that general area. Agree that Asi y Asado is too far out for cruisers. We'll be in Cabo in August on Carnival Firenze and my wife wants to go to Gardenias (and also Eden Spa for a massage). Just not sure I want to deal with the August heat vs. just hanging out on the ship. Did you ever try Gordo Lele's in Cabo. He (Javier) had absolutely the best carne asada tacos in Cabo (our opinion). Started out as a little "crack in the sidewalk stand" (with a long line of customers) down near the church that's close to Mi Casa. Unfortunately, he finally had to move to Mexico City for health reasons, but he was a real treasure in Cabo for many years.
Sad to hear that Javier left! No wonder why he wasn't there the last time we went, but they didn't tell us he left! Good to know, we won't be going their in May. We also like Gardenias and Los Piasa's tacos. Great pastor!

Cruise leaves from Miami, wondering if its better to fly into Miami or Fort Lauderdale.
Any suggestions would be great!
From past experience, it was cheaper to fly into FL. Not sure if it still applies.

How are my odds? 37 days out, we have a balcony on hump. We bid for a JS and 1br suite. There are 10 JS and 8 suites left. Good odds?

Our RU was granted 3 days age, 50 days out from our sailing on the ICON, for the minimum bid.
From what to what?

Gotcha. That was a joke. "Klfhngr" is unpronounceable, in English.

I remember your story, and I believe every word of it -- you have no reason to lie to us.
Two take-aways are: Keep your group together and allow plenty of buffer time to return to the ship.
Thanks Mum, it was all true!

I'm currently in a balcony on the hump, deck 10. I bid for JS and for 1 br suite. Should I cancel the JS to better my odds for the 1 br suite? Or keep both?

Only part of the account I don't believe:
"On the way there, a worker comes up to me and says "are you Klfhngr?""
How do you even pronounce that. Nope, didn't happen, lol.
That's cliffhanger, but he said my real name. I didn't want to reveal my real name. But it did happen.

We did it on Celebrity last May. It was a mistake booking thru X. Why? Because your stuck with a huge group, and the pace can be really slow. I told myself that if we ever go back, I'd show up on my own and pay at the entrance. They give you head phones and you can do the entire excursion on your own. I highly recommend this! You'll be able to go a lot faster and do other things the rest of the day. Trust me on this, we had a really, really slow group and guide!

I was going to click HaHa but it was I would not like to make fun of that situation at the time. It is only that now you can look back upon it and laugh.
Not something that we choose do but it is what is is and you took care of business.
It's ok to HAHA, lol! It's been a while. I guess you can find my whole story here on CC. I did learn a lot though, and hopefully the info helped others. That's why I posted the entire ordeal.

What is the furthest date from sailing that you've been notified that you won a bid?

Your signature says you missed the ship in Nassau. Were you able to catch the ship at the next port? Did you get points for the missed night(s)?
I had to spend 2 days in Bahamas, fly to Ft Lauderdale then fly to Jamaica. Not sure about the points, I didn't care at that point, lol!
