  1. My husband and I are going on a river cruise down the Rhine, hopefully in March or April of 2018. We havent picked a cruise line and I'm just now getting started on reading the boards here on CC. I have my own battery operated scooter that I have used very successfully on Many ocean cruises. I am able to walk up four or five stairs, but I'm not able to walk very far. I think my scooter would do fine on the beautiful cobblestone streets of Europe along the Rhine and even uphill and downhill as long as the hills aren't terribly steep... does anyone know how well a scooter would do on a river ship? How would the scooter be transported off of the ship? I have been told that many of the disembarkation procedures are that we would have to transfer from one ship to another ship and then down a ramp? My DH is able-bodied as long as he wouldn't have to sling the scooter over his sholder...... the scooter has three wheels and I'm able to easily maneuver it through the doors of an ocean cruise ship cabin (25" wide). Also, would there be room for the scooter in a cabin? I don't believe I would have a problem with the bathroom as long as there was a sink or such to catch my balance. Thanks so much. Any shared knowledge is appreciated! :)

  2. We are seriously considering a Rhine River Cruise and I appreciate your input on this subject. I have a battery powered scooter that I use for travel period I am able to ambulate and would be able to maneuver a couple of steps for instance on or off a bus... on large cruise ships, I park my scooter and make my way to the table in the main dining room. The scooters made for travel and it's very narrow. Do you think that this would work on a Rhine River Cruise? Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

  3. What a nice group to come across!!! We really love to cruise Carnival and have two in the works!! One on the Fantasy...I know she's a much older ship, but we're looking forward to driving down and trying out their "Grand Suite". Has anybody had any experience with that?? We were a little concerned with the other 'mini~suites' because I've read that people from upper decks can look down into your balcony and possibly your room!

We're also booked on the Carnival Freedom... well... now the Conquest... for January 24th, 2015. Our ship got changed the other day.
