  1. Aruba do the Jolly Pirates Sail and Snorkel was SO much fun. I highly recommend it. Just take a cab to the beach area and have a great day.

We did a tour of Bonaire; we were supposed to do a snorkel excursion with Seacow but it was cancelled the weak before we left. We set up the tour w the groups outside the port area. they are set up under the portable canopy tops. They were about $35.00 per person and very informative.

  2.  We were in Belize in 2022 and did Buttsup.com for a cave tubing excursion. It was SO much fun, I would do it again. The tubes are waiting for you at the river. We did a hike for about 30 minutes or so, but it was easy especially without the tubes. I know other excursions start at the same place but you have to carry the tubes (no thanks)!!!

  3. We did the Horizon, in April 2022, and had cabin 5218, we LOVED it. We didn't hear any noise from the bar area. Granted we spent a lot of time there at night. We loved being on deck 5 and how close it was to a lot of activities we like to do like trivia, and the coffee shop is so close. I would definitely book this cab again.

The Havana Pool area is great, by the end of the cruise you will make new friends.

    Have fun!!

  4. We had an interior Havana Cabin in April and it was great. We were on the same deck as the coffee shop, very easy to go and get a cup. We loved the Havana pool and meet some great people. In Aruba we did the Jolly Pirates snorkel tour. It was an absolute blast!!!! I highly recommend it. Take a cab to MooMba beach. We were supposed to do an SeaCow snorkeling, but it was cancelled. We ended up signing up for an island tour. It was a good tour. We walked onto the street at the port, tents are set up by vendors and you can just sign up.

Have fun on the Horizon, it's our favorite Carnival ship.

When W and I got back to Deck 6, there was a guy standing in his cabin doorway with only shorts on. Red Flag. I quickly assessed the situation and determined that whatever he was going thru had absolutely nothing to do with us. However, he volunteered to tell us that the noise from the Ocean Plaza Party downstairs was too loud and he couldn’t sleep. Okkkkkk. Here’s some free lifesaving wisdom. Minding your own business is about not inserting yourself into other people’s Koolaide. Don’t even ask. Try to avoid eye contact if at all possible. But. And I have a big but. If they volunteer the info, listen, and maybe nod a few times. Do that as long as it’s not uncomfortable or weird. As he was telling us his deal, we nodded, and kept it moving. We never paused. Here's another complimentary nugget of knowledge. There are different types of nods. There’s the “I hear you, but no” nod (this is more of a quick chin lift than a nod). There’s the “I hear you and I agree, so tell me more” nod (this is a more vigorous nod than the first one). Then there’s the “I hear you and I need more information to determine whether I’m in or not” nod (this one is more of a slow mo nod).

We hit him with the “I hear you but no” nod. We weren’t getting in that. When we got inside our cabin, we could hear him out there talking to other people, repeating his story.  A little while later, we saw him (thru the peephole) in the hall waiting for the escorts to his new cabin. I hope he found the peace that he was seeking. This is also reason number 5678 that packing earplugs are worth it. I can’t stress enough how blocking out sound will save you all of that trouble. If you’ve never worn them or if you’ve had some that were uncomfortable, get a few different types and try them out at home before your vacay. Don't let sounds assault your ears and keep you from sleeping like a newborn baby who pays no bills. Sleep is sacred.

We called it a night within the hour after the situation across the hall fizzled out.

Before I fell asleep I said a prayer thanking God for sandwiches. They’re perfect for any meal. There are breakfast sandwiches, dessert sandwiches, dinner, and lunch sandwiches. You gotta love multipurpose, versatile, portable food. God gives the best gifts.

A noise machine also helps. Have slept w/ one for over 20 years. It usually blocks out ALOT of nonsense coming from others.

  6. We did the ABC Islands in April/May, on the Horizon. The only compliant was the heat in several public areas. We had an inside cabin in the Havana area. Our room temperature was great, but the Havana Bar was so incredibly hot. I thought all of the deck 5 areas were hot. The food was ok, we never went hungry.  I have to say Donkey the CD was the best!!!! He was so much fun and full of energy.

The ladies who play in the Atrium were incredible. I'm sorry I 'remember the name of the group.

I agree w/ Megan about the Jolly Pirates tour, was awesome. You just have to take a cab to MooMba Beach. You will enjoy this excursion.

We were to have snorkeled wi/ Sea Cow, but they cancelled before w left on Thursday. We ended just booking a tour of the Island. We booked w/ tour guide out on the street, there are several to pick from. They are set up under shade tents right outside the port area.

We did a Turtle snorkel excursion w/ Carnival. The turtles were huge, and the beach area was BEAUTIFUL!!!!

    Yes they are.

You can also go to the Lounge and get 2 cups of coffee, they have an excellent coffee. On our cruise the Captain came in every morning to get his coffee for the morning. I also was took breakfast pastries back to the NS. You can also do the same thing w/ any snacks. I used the tray that the ice bucket is on, just put a napkin or something. I wished they had alcohol in the lounge... oh well.

    Enjoy your cruise!!!

  8. In Aruba we did the Jolly Pirate Snorkeling, we had to take cab to MooMba Beach. It was so much fun!!! I know it's not a HAL excursion, but it was awesome.

In Bonaire we took a guided trip around the Island, we signed up on the street outside the terminal. it was safe and very informative. We had set up snorkel excursion with Sea Cow Snorkeling, but they cancelled the Thursday before we left. This was the one excursion we wanted to do as Bonaire is known for the snorkeling/diving. Oh well....
