Good point. This would account for Regent’s failure to secure hotel and transfers in Barbados. And it had the same problem in Iceland too.
There's plenty of excursions to choose from all 9 islands for our cruise. It's just that the times are clearly messed up. It doesn't indicate credit problems at all.

Our Caribbean cruise on Grandeur in March has the same issue. Every shorex is scheduled for 30 minutes after the arrival in port. So a sunset cruise in Antigua is supposed to leave at 8:30 AM. There's some stops where we should be able to book 2 excursions in a day, but can't because because it thinks there's time conflicts.
We don't understand, but we're not sweating it,
I take it back... One port (Curacao), has accurate times for tours, and we're now able to book a morning and an evening tour. The other 8 ports are still messed up.

We are looking at an Air Canada flight non-stop to Rome. On the AC site, they have fully-refundable and refundable-for-a-fee fares. On ITA Matrix the fare class shows as C. Is that the refundable for a fee fare class, and if so, could anyone guess if Regent might contract for this, possibly with an upcharge?
Regent has us flying Air Canada from Lisbon to Toronto In June, and ITA shows it as fare class C. There was no upcharge. The flight from Toronto to Lisbon, on the other hand, is fare class Z and did have an upcharge.

That’s not relevant for a trip report though, which is quite different to a cruise review. Trip reports are on cruise line forums where this thread is also located.To-may-to, to-mah-to

Cruise Critic lets you review a cruise via https://www.cruisecritic.com/memberreviews/collect/. These get associated with the specific ship so that all the reviews for a ship are aggregated. That sounds useful, but the form is pretty clunky and so it doesn't get used nearly as much as do threads within this forum.

Thank you Z & TB for a very enjoyable & informative live review. We will be on the Grandeur in November 2024 as a first time newbie on Regent. If at all possible, could you share a spa menu please? I've looked online & am unable to find a spa service list on Regent's website. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide. Keep enjoying the high seas; looks tremendous fun!
Here's a link to the current services' menu. No prices though!

Don't panic, they'll let you know. We got our assignment on our Preliminary Cruise Summary that came about 60 days prior to the cruise.
That's pretty normal in my experience. The two times I used the included hotel I was notified between 6 and 4 weeks. Both times we were just looking for a place to shake off our jet lag, and the hotels were fine for that.

And also, if 100 people posted complaints about their meal I'd be worried. If someone posts 100 times about s single incident I'm willing to consider it might be a one-off.

I have a suspicion you may be right about “reducing food costs” we are on Grandeur in July in a GS, and for the price we (and everyone else on board) are paying we would expect top notch food. Should it not be we will most likely switch to land vacations in the future, much like Our Ireland golf trip in September.
All I can say is the rib-eye I had in Prime 7 last March on Splendor was about the best steak I've ever had. This was on a cruise that began in Miami, so most likely the same supplier they are using now.
It was massive, and I could only finish half of it. When I gave out the other three people in our group were on it like wolves. We're on Grandeur next March with the same group and I expect everybody to order rib-eyes in P7.

Do you know if they held any poker (hold 'em) tournaments? That's about the only thing that would get me to darken the door of the casino... But if they do have them, I'll be there with bells on.
They usually have them at 2:00 on sea days.

By the way... since passengers "reserve" sunbeds around the pool with their hats and books, can seats at the pool bar be reserved too? Asking for a friend.

cAPS LOCKoN,
Maybe we are in the same cruise? Grandeur March 2025 Miami to Miami.
We are! Our daughter and son-in-law will be with us. Look for us at the pool bar.

Don’t do the De Palm island excursion in Aruba - we did it earlier this month and it was a horrible grotty place !
We book on Tuesday and De Palm was on my list. I think I'll reconsider.

I’m excited for tonight’s deck party and love all the evening singing and entertainment so far . Our safe has plenty of room for a laptop btw 😊.
Agree with you about the lamb chops but we found the lobster bisque watery and very much lacking any depth of flavour . Chacun a son goût as they say 😊
We always ask for extra lobster with the bisque. They'll bring a dish of lobster meat and it makes a big difference.

We did a one night pre-cruise at the Intercontinental. The location is not great for a tourist, but Regent did have a shuttle to the city center. We used it, saw a couple sights, and went back to the hotel. Note that we were VERY jet lagged. Our primary goal was to get a good night's sleep, and the hotel provided that. It didn't hurt that we were put into an absolutely stunning suite for some reason.
I wouldn't consider the Intercontinental for a longer stay, but it met our needs.

We will be newbies on Grandeur soon, also so really looking forward to following along and reading about your newbie adventures.
Any chance If you are up on deck 12
Starboard - we will be in 1211
Taking a look around that area.
Interested if any service doors or obvious concerns for noise in that location around and above
1211 is directly above the Culinary Arts Kitchen. Guests staying in that suite on Explorer, or maybe it was Splendor, had issues because the Kitchen has ceiling speakers. During classes guests above it could clearly hear everything that was said.
Regent acknowledged that it was a problem, so they may have fixed it in the new ship.

We were able to get Delta flights from Phoenix to Lisbon through Regent for our upcoming June cruise. There was a reasonable layover in JFK, then an overnight to Lisbon.
But Delta recently canceled the PHX to JFK leg, and replaced it with a 6:00 AM departure. We live an hour from PHX so that would have probably meant leaving our home at 3:00 AM. or spending a night in a Phoenix airport hotel. Plus, the early arrival in JFK meant a much longer layover in JFK, and an inconvenient arrival time in LIS.
We gave up on Delta and scrambled for other options. Finally Regent put us on Air Canada with a small upcharge. As far as I'm concerned losing Delta's contract is no loss.

There is a shower head which you can detach and hold in the tub
I misread the original post as thinking that there two full showers plus the tub. But yes, there is a standalone shower plus a tub with a handheld shower head. It's not a bug, it's a feature of the new ships' bathrooms.
-
There is only one shower, along with the tub. The mirrors must have fooled the software that produced the VR tour.

Since it seems like excursions are important to you, I'd recommend getting at least a concierge level suite. Among other things it allows you to book excursions 12 months prior to the date of the cruise, which in your case would mean immediately. Otherwise you'll have to wait until May, I think, and some things may be booked up by then.
Voyager is the first Regent ship we cruised on, so we have a soft spot for her. It's been a while, but we'll be on it again in a few months. Check out the "Suite Guru" thread pinned to the top of this board for specific suite reviews.

I stand corrected. I suspect you won't be impressed by the Rouge portion but i hope that once again i am wrong.
It's the last leg of a very long day. I'm hoping for uneventful.

Regent has us in "business class" on the Rouge portion of our return home (YYZ to PHX). It looks to me like what they call business class is equivalent to first on domestic flights in the US, which is fine with us.
Calling all theorists, insiders, and speculators … why don’t we have viable shorex 11 months out?

When I said Curacao's times were correct, I just meant that the evening tour actually shows it takes place in the evening. I'm dead certain that the other 9 tours don't all start at 07:30, but when do they? It'd be nice to be able to plan the rest of the day.
We're spending long days in these ports,12 hours or more in some of them. And from past experience some of the tours will have multiple starting times. So if you booked, say, a sub tour, which of the many starting times will you be assigned? It'd be nice to know that!
I expect this will all be sorted out in the end, but it's so avoidable.
