There was as article on the front page of the San Diego Union that 1 passenger from our ship/cruise tested positive and 2 others were tested and are awaiting results.

We have decided to self quarantine for 14 days.

I spoke incorrectly sorry my friend was misinformed: 1 passenger is not showing signs and 2 are awaiting results.

    Here is the article

Day 18 (arrival in Sand Diego)

We traveled throughout the day and just got home this morning so this is written on March 19, the day after our cruise ended.

The Eurodam docked early in the morning approximately 6 a.m.  We did not leave the customs dock in Ensenada until approximately 8 p.m.

As we went down to the MDR for breakfast, I noticed our final bill in our mailbox as well as a letter.  I scanned the letter in the elevator, and noticed the words "one person had tested positive for coronavirus" and I began to see myself in 14 day quarantine.  But as I read more thoroughly, the letter explained that the case was a person who had sailed on the cruise previous to ours.  Whew!

They do not know what cabin that person was in, nor what areas of the ship frequented.  Additionally, the letter mentioned that since our cruise was 18 days, symptoms would have shown up by now and there have been no cases on board that are concerning.  The letter also mentions attention to cleaning with a substance that attacks viruses including coronavirus and concludes with wording about what to do if you experience any coronavirus symptoms.  The reverse side listed information from a website and some common symptoms.

I'm doing this for memory, and I know I kept the letter.....which is far more accurate.  So I will look for that letter, take a photo of it and post it.

(Will also post photos of the Hilo market and whale watching as promised.)

Disembarkation went smoothly, some staff were lined up to wish us Aloha and Mahalo.  We only needed to pick up our bags and show our passports,  then boarded a bus supplied by our TA to the nearby airport.

It was a rainy day, security lines were long, flight out of San Diego was pretty full (some people had been rerouted due to their flight having been cancelled).  Our late-night flight out of Charlotte was half full.

  3. I organized this tour with Pham. It was on Sunday, April 5, 2015. Our guide was Cai and our driver was Toy. We had excellent directions on how and where to meet. The tour was wonderful. I would say it was enjoyed by all and one of the best we had while on board the Millennium for 45 days. What I liked most was that we went to actual places, a house where the family made Conical hats, a house where they weaved mats, a factory where they made rice noodles. Everyone said they'd never eat those again, but a couple of hours later there we were eating away. The orphanage was interesting, although it was a Sunday and quiet. I wish I had known to bring some of the things they could use at the orphanage, but there were 12 of us on the tour and before we left I took up a collection and gave a wonderful donation to the woman in charge. She was very appreciative. Our stop at the Amitabh Buddha, the White Buddha, for pictures and our guides explanation was good. We stopped at the ancient house and had fresh fruit and tea. And our ride on the river to our lunch was fantastic and lunch was great. The boys voted to skip the embroidery factory, but we did stop at the DAM market for some shopping and ice cream.

I would highly recommend this tour. And I hope you will enjoy it as much as we did.

  4. It's a beautiful day in Kobe today, mostly sunny, great for strolling through Chinatown. Passengers have to be on board for a 5 pm sail away followed by our last formal night.

I love reading your live blog. We are doing the same trip in the reverse Spring 2015. It will be a holiday the day we are in Kobe, Golden Week.

    Thanks,

  5. Thanks for the invite, Usetobemoss

But we're not really excursion people. We go on holiday to relax and venture off the ship mid morning at the earliest.

Hopefully, you'll find a couple of people who are more adventurous and I'm sure you'll have a great time.

    Thanks again

    Regards

    Roy

No worry - It's for Koh Samui and sounds great!!! In case any else out there is interested let me know:cool:

  6. And before anyone comments - it was a joke.

I know Celebrity have offered refunds or alternative cruises to those already booked. Atlantis are probably more expensive anyway, and you don't get the 123 offers.

But for those who are planning well in advance, it must be a hindrance. Looking at the closed Millenium thread, some people were using this cruise as a B2B or as part of a longer excursion to Japan and Australia. Now they have part of a trip and have to make arrangements for the bit taken up by Atlantis.

Some are even using HAL instead!

You got that Right!!! We had booked B2B2B in November 2013 when we were on the Century. The price was actually $100.00 more from Celebrity but the Taxes and fees from Celebrity were $75.00 as opposed to Atlantis $350.00. And the original Celebrity cruise was 14 nights. And also NO 123 from Atlantis, but I think we will be able to get our stock shareholders benefit of shipboard credit from Celebrity??? Also, for moving the original booking we were able to keep the 123 and received an additional $200.00 shipboard credit. So we are doing Fort Lauderdale thru the Canal to Chile in December.

We can keep in touch here or maybe we'd have better luck this time around if we start a new thread. The CC Host suggested starting one here as apposed to where the other Millie stuff is?

  7. The 2015 Med cruise was advertised on this year's Med cruise, but I see it still hasn't appeared on their web site.

No doubt, when it does arrive, those who have been on previous Atlantis cruises will be able to get a small discount for a short while.

They also offer discounts on future cruises whilst sailing on a current cruise. And even extended the discounts for us for a couple of weeks until 26th August.

We weren't sure about the Easter 2015 cruise, Singapore to Hong Kong, but the alternative ordinary cruises didn't float our boat (!) so finally succumbed.

    Now I can't wait.

Hi Roy & Adrian - Do you know if there is a thread for the Singapore to Hong Kong March 29, 2015 cruise? There was one on the Millennium board before Atlantis did the charter and it's now closed/locked?

    Thanks,
