We monitor the pricing daily. It is something that Edward checks on literally every single day when he gets to the office to see if pricing has declined. By doing this he starts to understand the trend in pricing and what is really a good deal versus what is not. We tend to initially book a cabin / room category we are satisfied with. Usually that means concierge class (since we want the extra points) and we upgrade from there. Many times we are upgrading after final payment as that is when we see pricing drop most often.
With this cruise, specifically, Edward saw a suite guarantee one morning and immediately put a hold on it. As soon as he held it he saw pricing jump up meaning there was likely only 1 or 2 suites they were putting on guarantee for that price. He put it on hold with Celebrity and then immediately reached out to our TA to have that hold transferred over.
Thank you for describing how you look for possible upgrades. I was going to post a question to you.

Just got back from Maya chan and wanted to post a few quick items.. Also answer any questions if I can.
First off - they are very upfront about what to expect (Bumpy roads, sea grass on the beach and cloudier water). Their team could not have worked harder to greet everyone, make everyone feel at home, welcomed and taken care of! Great food - and lots of it, the drinks were flowing and plentiful! Lots of beach toys, paddleboards, kayaks, floaty chairs. The massages were a nice touch - $45 for an hour is super reasonable. I did see a Jellyfish while in the water so beware there but that's not really anything they can control. Snorkeling to the reef we were told wasn't recommended, was hoping to see some sea turtles or fish and that was the only thing we didn't. You didn't feel like you had a crowded area, everything was well managed!
As they said to us - if you're looking for the crystal blue waters, this isn't the place but if you're looking for a relaxing beach break - it was great. Last tip - DO NOT FORGET BUG SPRAY!
We are booked for December & I am looking forward to it. I just have one question, did you tip servers or bartender?

We are sailing on Equinox in December and we are also Diamond on RCCL (Elite on X). Can you tell me more about the Elite breakfast in Tuscan Grille? Thanks for the review. We are getting excited, we're almost under 100 days.

Just off Legend on Friday and today my cruise status says I'm diamond! I'm so excited. Our next cruise, in January, we will be enjoying our new status. Can't wait!

How much help finding a cruise should we expect from C & A person when we book onboard? Is it customary to have a cruise picked out and just have it booked on the ship? Or, can we request some assistance with finding what we want when we go for an appointment?

I'm curious about internet packages. Did you buy one? Do you know the costs? Thanks.

Does the bus stop at all hotels along Palm Beach? We have a day pass arranged at Occidental Grand and are wondering about taking the bus over a taxi. If the bus doesn't stop at the Occidental, what is the closest stop? Thanks for any help.

Enjoying your report!

We are very excited about our Legend cruise in 20 days! :D

We're sailing on the Legend in 3 weeks and I'm wondering if it's possible to change our already booked cruises to something different while we're onboard.
Thanks.

Another of the nice touches on the "little" RCI ship, cold towels being handed out upon the return from each port.
Was this at every port? I'm looking forward to this. It seems like a very nice touch, after a day in port.
Thanks for the great review. Only 26 days until we sail on the Legend.

Day 1, Port Everglades:
Our cabin
We have one of these "sideways" rooms, 6051. After seeing your pictures, I'm a little leery of the room. It seems very small in your pics. Maybe I'll see if we can upgrade...
I can't determine where the door is, either. Can you explain the door location? We will have our bed separated, will that make the room seem larger or smaller? Thanks.

One thing I noticed about Guest Services on Legend: there was never anyone in line there! Why? Because they knocked themselves out pleasing all the passengers! I was really impressed with everything about Legend.
This is excellent to hear. We're on the Legend for 11 nights in about a month. Really looking forward to it!

After reading about your B2B adventures, we've booked 2 cruises from San Juan next January on the Adventure. I can't wait. It's kind of been a dream of mine to do a B2B. Thanks for all the information you've provided through your reviews. I'll keep watching for them!

Favorite foods were almost anything at Park Cafe in the Solarium. Very nice breakfast and lunch offerings, plus late night pizza slices.
Is the Park Cafe open on embarkation day? We'd love to avoid the Windjammer madhouse.

40 days! Only 38 days until we leave the cold north for sunny Florida!
-
Thanks, Clarea! That's awesome!

So, I can book the Royal Replenish package and then upgrade (with at least 4 nights left) to the Premium package, right?
-
I don't want to hijack this thread, but what is the average cost for a shot to go into a non-alcoholic beverage? For instance, if I ask for a virgin Bloody Mary at breakfast, but also want to buy a shot of vodka to go in it, what would I be charged? Thanks!

We'll be on the Legend on 2/1/15 for the Super Bowl. I'll have to check out the festivities!

If you bring your own wheelchair, will a terminal representative push you onto the ship?
We are trying to decide if we should rent a wheelchair for the 2 nights pre cruise & during cruise or just for on the ship. My Dad would be the wheelchair user and he does walk some with a walker.
-
Is there a restaurant near Port Everglades where you can watch the ships sail away?
Also, we are thinking about renting a car for the day while we're in Fort Lauderdale. We'd prefer just renting for the day and not overnight. What would be the best option for doing so? We're staying 2 nights pre-cruise and will have all day Sunday before sailing on Monday. We're staying at a Best Western. Would the best option be to take a shuttle to the airport & rent from there?
