We were one of the thousands who lost out on the Nov 5th sailing, funny part when we got the email from CCL, we (4 couples of us) got on expedia, bookvip, cheapcarribean and other sites looking to jump on another ship or fly to mexico or go somewhere......on expedia their were like 900 people who had checked flights and hotels in Mexico in last hour.......we could not get on LOS, Breeze or any of the ships in Galveston, could not do the New Orleans ship due to a scheduling conflict. We looked at Cancun but could not get a flight cheap enough.....only one of the couples is still on vacation, they flew to Las Vegas......rest of us spent night and came back to DFW area yesterday.....go back to work tomorrow to save time for that FREE cruise, which will still cost us since we had dog boarding, incidentials that are not covered by insurance......just frustrating and I like many wonder why it took CCL so long to decide on Friday at 445 pm to kill the Nov 5th cruise, and the Thurday cruise this week is probably on the chopping block, I would be worried if I had it booked. It is an inconvenience but at least we can laugh about it now........wasn't to funny Friday about 5 pm......I sure hope that when I send my copies of receipts and stuff for reimbursements to CCL on insurance I don't get the run around.....I cruise either RCCL or CCL since I live in Texas, but how they handle the reimbursements, the credits and all this other stuff will go along way in a bad situation to help many who missed their vacations.......Good Luck on Thursday I sure hope Liberty sails with guest for their sake.........

We were already half way to Galveston. Looking for alternatives now. LOS booked Breeze booked. Cancun an option. What a mess for a lot of people. I agree at least we were not on board yet.

Chenkp75, That is a great point on scheduling of ship lanes and pilot times.....What about the issue with 2 ships in port on Saturday or is it SUnday with Liberty of Sea and Carnival Freedom will there be a spot for Liberty (Carnival) just to sit and wait.......I like many would probably be ok if we could just board at normal times and not be sitting in or around the strand in bike traffic waiting.

Could be a really congested place.

Freaka ,621-- I am on the nov 5th cruise hopefully we sail....But no only the letter advising us that the Halloween Oct 31st cruise would be late out and back so not to show up before certain time on Saturday, now that no cruise happened on Oct 31st why are we not boarding at normal times it would seem like they would want to get out of port quicker at normal times if it is a slower cruise than normal but what do I know. I know it is disappointing that Carnival has not kept their quest who might have hotels, air reservations and other needs like pet boarding and travel better informed on the who, what and why since Monday. I know they are working on it, but I would hope we would not load and then cancel like Oct 31st did ......had to be frustrating and disappointing all the same......hoping they make a statement soon and either fix the problem or let us know sooner than later so we can cancel hotels, car rentals and work on air line refunds...... I do have insurance but their is still items to handle.....

Confusing part is why are we still suppose to board late if the reason was to do the turnover. I am concerned about us being able to go on Saturday. I would hope if we are going and still leaving late Carnival would at least let us board at regular times......this is terrible waiting for yes, no, maybe or I don't know. So many rumors floating around it is not even funny.......Carnival should make an update at least to the ones who have already received emails about next 2 cruises.....

I would expect we will see a new update or new email about boarding times now that the last cruise was cancelled. I am sure they are working like ants to fix the problem, costing them port time, passengers off the last cruise and all sorts of other stuff. It will be an interesting next 48 hours to see how this goes down. Interestingly enough the Carnival website still has NOV 5th cruise on website selling sailings and 2 stops listed (progreso and Cozumel) I hope for all of us on the Nov 5th cruise they get it fixed or fixed well enough to sail and it will not effect any other cruisers and plans. Hopefully they can make it work until Drydock in Dec. Nerve wracking for a lot of folks and ones who have to fly I am sure are freaking out.......but any day of cruising is better than working, as long as we are under power not drifting.......

Michelle, us and 3 other couples on board with you and yours.....monitoring this situation closely and hoping it just keeps everything as is and they don't have a bigger problem or pull the plug for Dry dock sooner than Dec. I wanted to go to Progreso but xtra day at sea is OK with me......I hoped we could stay at Cozumel a bit longer.......patience will be a needed virtue for embarkatation and debarkation for all involved.....I have been in late due to fog, but never mechanical.

What is actually the issue, Thrusters, engine or what.......We were on Liberty last summer out of Puerto Rico and they were having thruster problems then and we still had a good time, just don't understand if it is thruster why it is slowing the ship down... I understand missing a port, but why would it be late next trip and so on and so on......

Great it says it will effect the Nov 5th sailing as well, so could be a bigger deal than we all know.......I am on Nov 5th sailing....

Coming in a 4pm on Saturday and turning over will not be fun.

Where and when is carnival going to give an update on sailing for Oct 31st......on Liberty

EllALL Bee, Don't just stay on ship.....we were in Costa Maya a year or so ago and take the 5 minute ride to town, nice boardwalk with small shops, resturants, bars free wifi, and you can see beach and water if you are not wanting a beach day, but the boardwalk is nice to stroll, look and enjoy

My wife does one everytime we are at Paradise Beach......depends on how many and busy the techs are....she has done one for 20. and as much as 35 I believe......for a full hour.......the cabana is draped and can be closed in after the tech get you on table they can leave it open or closed your choice......but it is great and my wife always enjoys them......You are right there on beach and it is very relaxing......only place I have had a better one that was surprising was in Costa Maya.........

My question is and what about families and groups, we have a group of 22 or so on Dec 6th and it gave us 4 different times 1030-1100 was 1 11-00 to 1130 another family and 1;00-1;30 2 FAMILIES.. so it is confusing......I know they are trying to help and speed it up but I have went out of Galveston many many times, on Carnival, RCCL and even Princess before the went to Houston and never had a huge issue first come first served is a way of life, now we want to make people stress on vacation to be on a certain time frame.....we are driving 5 hours to terminal, alot plays into this and that........it shall be interesting.

I agree with the bus (carnival bus) concern it want leave until it is full. We have done the PC to Orlando and out 2-3 times and always used a private service. Google or search for private shuttles from PC to airport in Orlando.. I found many and most if you ask on hear people will give you a reference. It might be a tad more but peace of mind is worth a lot. Enjoy your cruise, we did it both ways and they picked us up and was there to deliver us back to airport.

Awesome review we are on Liberty in June and love your pictures and your comments.....first time to Barbados, St Kitts, and St Lucia for us been to St Thomas and St Marteen......keep up pics

We will be on Navigator next week and were on her in August of this year....the best Mojitos we in Boleros and at Solarium pool bar.....I spent alot of time at that pool area and then on way to dinner Boleros before dinner drink, great martinins, mojitos, and amaretto sours........loved them. Cant wait till next week and get away from this first shot of cold weather.....

I know somewhere in the board it has been ask a hundred times but i am short on time.....I have been out of Miami and Port Canaveral but nevr on OASIS and FLL.........Can I disembark Oasis on Sat a.m. (7:00 am and make a 11:00 a.m flight out of Miami......airlines are killing me on short notice........just wondering and any help would be appreciated.....this is a spur of the moment trip for my wife and trying to get logistics to match.

I will jump on this band wagon........Have been on Navigator and Freedom but last 3 summers had to go on Conquest due to NO RCCL ships in Texas in Summer.......have college age sons, wife works for school and our group goes together......last summer 14 of us went on COnquest, summer before 26 of us......getting tired of no choice but if RCCL is that thick skulled and do not need Texas departures then their loss.......only hope is enough of us start to make a difference and someone will listen from RCCL......

Yes balcony dividers can be opened in ports and closed while cruising....

We had 4-5 balcony rooms in Aug and our Steward opened them in ports and we loved sitting there during sail away and went to dinner , he closed them , it is a rule, besides if he did not closethem they clang and bang all night.......
