Yes use a travel agent whether it is for 2 people or 8. usually, there’s perks or onboard credit associated with using a travel agent, and they can be your advocate if something goes wrong.

they can advise you of things that you didn’t even know that you needed to know, etc..
Not allowed on cruise critic to recommend an agent. Just google one that specializes in cruises or better yet especially princess cruises. They are out there. Google travel agents in Gilbert, AZ.

I live in Arizona like you, but my travel agent is in California.

Perhaps one of your family members or  friends, can recommend one?

if you prefer to do things in person then find one in the local Gilbert/Santan Valley /East Valley area. If you don’t mind where the travel agent is and you like to do things over the phone or by email, then there must be one of your family or friends that can recommend one I would think?
Looks like you have cruised Princess a few times, did you book all your other cruises on your own?

Usually when it is just my DH and me I book myself. Our last family cruise we used a family friend who was a TA, but sadly she has passed away. I did do a little searching online, but will do more. I wasn't aware that CC did not allow TA recommendations when I did my post.

  2. I'm trying to plan a cruise for my DH and me, along with my 3 adult kids and their SO's / Spouses. Am I best off booking everything on my own, or should I get a Princess Cruise Vacation Planner or find a local TA? I'm in the Phoenix AZ area, so any recommendations for a TA that you love?

  3. 2 cruises were cancelled by Princess and we rebooked.  The 3rd time (the last rebooked cruise) we cancelled due to Delta variant risk in UK - and cancelled based on the cruise with confidence policy on the latest date possible.  We didn’t get our credit issued to our account for over 6 months. Too late to use for a cruise we had scheduled in March.  No refund available.  And it must be booked and sail by 12/2022.

  4. We spent thousands of dollars with Princess for cruises that got cancelled due to COVID.  Now, we have $2200+ in future cruise credits (money we paid to Princess), that has to be used by 12/31/2022.  We have already cruised this year (in March) and Princess would not apply those funds to that cruise, since we didn't get the funds until Feb 2022.   We cannot cruise again this year - do to work and family obligations.  I just got done with chatting with Princess, and they will not extend beyond Dec 2022.  So, that's $2K down the drain.  They won't even honor the Cruise With Confidence guarantee that you get 12 months to use your FCC (extending it to Feb 2023 at least).

  5. We’re scheduled to embark out of FLL a week from today.  My husband had covid 3 weeks ago (very mild case, and symptoms gone within 3 days).  He did an antigen at home test 3 weeks ago, so no lab results, and never went to a doctor.  He tested yesterday, just to be sure he is now testing negative for our cruise, and his at home antigen test shows a very very slight blue (positive) line.  Now we’re concerned that will still be the case in a week.  Anyone else experience this?  He doesn’t meet the requirements to be exempt since he doesn’t have lab results proving he had covid within the last 90 days.  We are both fully vaccinated and boosted.  I never tested positive.

  6. Unfortunately, we are going to cancel our TA cruise scheduled for Nov 3rd.  Does anyone know the best way to do that? I'm assuming we just call Princess - I don't see a way to do it online.

Also, according to the cancellation policy I will get a 50% refund if cancelled by today, and I am assuming the other 50% will go to FCC (based on the "Cruise with Confidence" policy)?  Would I expect to get other OBC and FCC that was due to Princess cancelling prior cruises to remain in my account?  My account says those items expire 12/31/2022.

This is the first time I've ever cancelled a cruise - unfortunately Princess cancelled 3 on me this year due to Covid, so we were really hoping to go, but just too many unknowns and hoops to jump through at this point.

  7. We just used this package on the Regal, we had a group of 7 of us (4 cabins), and as long as my DH or I was in the photo, we were able to get it - so we got some really nice photos of the entire group. Also, when you get quite a few, they don't even look at the photos - they just layer them so they can see all the barcodes, scan them quickly and voila - you have all the photos on the thumb drive.

  8. We just did this on the 2/19 Regal cruise - my DH got the package and I did not. I did have a sip out of his drinks a few times, with no issues, but if I were getting a full drink, I used my own card. It really seemed to confuse the bartenders if he went up to get a drink for both of us, with just his card - meaning he got a free drink, and they charged his card for my drink. Made it somewhat inconvenient if we just wanted one of us to go to the bar for drinks for both of us. We did take advantage of the 40% off bottles of wine in the dining room, that we then shared. I highly recommend the Hogue Genesis Cabernet :)

  9. We just got off the same cruise (Regal 2/19-26) and also saw the lady with the two dogs in various places, but once up on the walking deck. I asked her why she had dogs on the ship, and she just brushed by me and did not answer. I can see someone being allowed on with one emotional support animal, but two? Maybe she was some high level crew members wife or something.

This was our 5th cruise with Princess, the last one being 5 years ago, and the one thing I noticed was that the level of service seems to have dipped. We did meet our cabin steward, and he was very nice, but certainly not around as much and as helpful as we've had in the past. Also, little things like no service on the outside promenade deck - we like to sit in the lounges there and read, and in the past have always had a waiter come by a few times to see if we needed anything, and also the chocolate chip cookie cart (my favorite!) - but on this trip we had to go inside to get drinks, and return our dishes etc to the bar near the Princess Live lounge.

Aside from that, beautiful ship, and a great trip!
