There are several reasonably priced lower Manhattan hotels an easy walk( or short taxi ride) to the ferry across to right next to the cruise terminal - convenient to several restaurants and places of interest in the Wall Street area - which is among the safest neighborhoods in the city. There are few comparable options on the Brooklyn side.

We are staying at the Holiday inn Express on Water St in the Wall Street area.  Only two blocks from Pier 11 where we will take the ferry over to cruise terminal.  Amount of luggage you have may limit use of the ferry.

without any doubt you will need a taxi if you are staying in Toulon  - you simply cannot walk from Toulon to La Seyne  - there is only space for one cruise ship in Toulon

La seyne is complete with a cruise terminal

you can also stay a night in Toulon before the cruise ,

I am booked on the same cruise  and will stay some days before the cruise in the village of Cassis ( with great wines)

there is also a boat from Toulon to Cassis but then you must walk from the station to the quay what is rather difficult with luggage  - and I do not know the  schedules of that boat

We are planning the sailing from La Seyne in June. Will stay in Cassis and take the train to Toulon. A short trip. I have been to Cassis multiple times and if you have never been there you should go.
As Mistral has said “He who has seen Paris and not Cassis has seen nothing.”

  3. We’re sailing August 13, 2022. Just got another email this morning saying test must be within 2 days before sailing. This also shows up in my Celebrity Apt.

A few days ago I received an email stating 3 days before sailing  if beginning  after Aug 8.
wish Celebrity would update their post information.
we have test  scheduled for Wednesday for our sailing leaving Saturday.
    should I be concerned?

Were there any loyalty benefits on Flora? Seems like in the past some mentioned a massage. Was your laundry free? Did upper level categories get different rooms at the EB? In Quito, we were placed on the Executive Floor.

Did you feel you got good value for the price on Flora?

Have you considered the Machu Picchu extension?

We had free message as Elites. Two free laundries which was for everyone

  5. I’ve enjoyed your post. It has brought so many wonderful memories of our cruise taken in early August.
might add Celebrity did provide walking sticks. Great help. They did state the walking sticks were not good for the lava walk.
Had water shoes for wet landings. Just kept them on for the walks. Worked fine.

    Pilgrim70,

Just curious when you landed in Baltra, did they ask for proof of travel insurance with medical and evacuation coverage?  Noticed that Celebrity travel requirements on their website has this as a reminder as of today to have ready if asked (which we do as it is a requirement, I just saved the proof as a PDF that will be on my iPAD and a printed copy as well).

    • Travel Insurance with medical and evacuation coverage for Galapagos is a government requirement and guests may be asked to show printed or digital proof upon arrival in Baltra.  CruiseCare Travel Protection provides the necessary coverage.

ere you asked to provide eve dice

No we were not asked. Read here on  cruisecritic that someone had been asked. We did buy evacuation insurance online. We did have to show test results before being allowed to board flight to Baltra.

  7. We were on the August 8 Flora cruise taking the excursion package leaving  Miami Aug 6. We had to show proof of vaccination to board  AA flight.  Celebrity gave us test required for entering Baltra at Marriott hotel. Rumor on the ship was that 5 people tested positive at the hotel a  nd were refused to continue the cruise.

From reviewing government websites it looks as if Ecuador requires a negative test before leaving US now. Changed since we went almost 4 weeks ago.

Cubbivan is exactly correct. I will just add that once you arrive in Quito, pretty much every single thing is paid for. When we got home, I checked my credit card and the only thing that we spent money on in the 10 days we were in Ecuador was some postcards and a magnet we bought on Flora. That was it. Never done a trip like that where we spent so little when we go there.

We are now in our last day in Quito   We actually had an 11 day trip. Something to do with air changes.
our last day here only includes breakfast but on our own for rest of the day. Breakfast tomorrow before leaving for airport. We have eaten so much on this trip we are going lite today.
i might add that when dining off the ship that beer, wine, cocktails are not included. You are charged. No big deal IMHO.

ON Flora all was covered. Great bar service just like everywhere on the ship.

No worries. Everyone was met no matter what time. You actually are picked up by the hotel van. It's a really nice van. Just get your bags after passport control and look around for either a guy with a Celebrity sign or EB Hotel sign. Our guy had both. Worst case scenario, call the EB Hotel. They are about 10 minutes away and can come get you really quick. They have someone at the desk overnight.

In actuality, the airport is pretty busy then. They have a lot of redeye flights in and out. It is least busy in the middle of the day. When we got there around 12:30 pm it was a ghost town. When we went to the airport at 3:30 AM to leave the place was a madhouse.

Called Celebrity Air desk. They confirmed that we will be met. Flying out tonight. Schedule is to arrive 12:30 am. Plane has been about 30 to 60 mins late. I’ll just be happy to get there. Having to adjust to the altitude I will be ready for bed.

Yes it does, thanks.............. On another note, American Airlines changed one of our flight numbers and times without telling us.  Surprisingly, Celebrity already had the new flight number on their screen for us.  Your advisement to check flights often is a good one.........Rick

Yes our flight from Miami was changed but we were not notified. We had two choices with AA and picked one  arriving Quito at 12;30 am.
my concern since our cruise booklet has us with both flights listed which one will Celebrity rep meet. I hear getting transportation at this time is difficult. Also we paid for being met at the airport.

Did Celebrity change your flights or did AA?  We are on the sailing after yours, my TA was told that our docs wouldn’t be available until a week or 2 prior.  I’m trying to schedule a private tour for the last day (our flight out is at midnight) but I’m concerned about committing in case Celebrity makes changes.

I don’t know which changed or flight. Just found out by checking my AA apt. Then had the change confirmed by TA.

We’re on Flora mid August and they are saying that our 10 day, with 2 days before and 1 day after the cruise is on.  Finger crossed that they don’t shorten our trip

We are taking the 10 day package. Changed our air departure without ever notifying us..just happened to find out im my AA apt. Was supposed to have early afternoon in Quito. Now don’t arrive until after midnight. No mention if hotel has changed.
Leaving Miami Aug 6, i HOPE

Strange Celebrity can send me emails trying to get me to buy future cruises but can’t send me one about change to my booked one.

  13. Haven’t received notice of our March 20, 2021 Apex but just read on Celebrity site.

    Tuesday, January 12th

Celebrity Cruises continues to focus on the healthy and safe return to cruising for guests, crew and the communities we visit. As we work closely with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and government authorities around the world toward this shared goal, we are extending the suspension of all sailings departing between March 1 and April 30, 2021 along with the Apex Transatlantic sailing of 5/1/21 and the 2021 Europe Season for Edge and Constellation's sailings departing May – October, 2021. Celebrity Cruises, as part of the Royal Caribbean Group, continues to work with our Healthy Sail Panel of globally recognized scientific and medical experts to come back stronger, and we look forward to welcoming our guests back on board. We are reaching out to our guests and travel partners to share further details and address any questions or concerns they may have

  14. We were on Asia India cruise which was canceled mid cruise March 10 in Mumbai.
we have received full credit card refund   Only a small amount due for drink package upgrade paid online.
called April 10, was told refund had been processed and would be on credit card in 5 to 10 business days. Checked with credit card a few days later and was told refund had been received and in process of being added to card. Did see it on until April 27 but was listed as posted on April 19. Still waiting for Citibank to send cash to our bank account.
i have no complaints about how Celebrity Handled our refunds or first 7 days of cruise. First 7 days were actually free.
