  1. Crossed both ways recently and loved it.  The rust on the balcony comes mostly from the chase that carries the electric cables. It runs down from that. Hopefully they will replace it, other wise it will do the same again pretty soon if all they do is paint over it.

Which transatlantic do UK cruisers prefer.

    West bound or East bound.

I'm UK based and going to book as I need to be in NY next August and it doesn't make a lot of difference to me which way around I do it.

    Many thanks

West bound gives the longer days. I did both recently. I actually enjoyed the east bound more. I think it was because I was anticipating my UK holiday and west bound i was going home after my holiday 😃

Looking at maybe booking Queen Elizabeth for next summer to Alaska.  Have cruise most of the main lines RCCL/Celeb/NCL/Princess/HAL  what can I expect different on Cunard would be booking Inside/OV do I still have access to most of the ship with that category of cabin?   Looking for good food good main theater entertainment.

You should do it QE is a lovely ship. We did the Alaska trip this year. However main theater entertainment is not always Cunard's best attraction.

I guess I'm on the same Cunard cruise ( departing 1st Oct 2022)

Excursions for Santorini  ( Oct 10th) are now available in My Cunard. I have just booked a trip that will take me up to Fira by coach rather than  battling the crowds for the cable Car.

I understand there will be five ships in port that day.

sorry our trip is may 2023

@moses0 Be sure to be in a good spot on the ship so you can watch the sail in. The houses on the crest are white and it looks like snow from a distance. Really beautiful.

    thank you will remember that

  6. Just to let you know no problem. Checked in by a lovely lady she was just sorry  one of us couldn’t sail. We got through in no time at all. Sailing out if Southampton right now on a beautiful English late summer evening

  7. We were set to cross Sept 4th with another couple. Unfortunately the husband has to fly home early now and cannot sail. The wife still wants to sail back with us. All are fully paid. Does anyone know if there will be any issues with her sailing without him. Do we have to  report that he is not sailing . Will that affect her being able to sail?

  8. Thank you all for the replies. My TA who is also my daughter is on it. She called them but sadly the folks on the phone don't always have the answer. Or we get conflicting answers.  Although she loves cruising with Cunard she does not like dealing with them

  9. We are crossing soon with another couple. After a time in the UK we sail back. The husband of the couple has just found out he has to fly back to USA for an urgent meeting. His wife still wants to doing the crossing back to New York with us. Does anyone know if that will be a problem. Both ways are already paid for. Any help is greatly appreciated.
