    Tours

I know ships tours are easiest to set up, but.. We are on the Millennium next March to Taiwan, Japan, So Korea, Beijing, and Shanghai. Anyone heave any experience they can share with booking tours in these areas? Would prefer in Beijing to take the train back to ship every night, and not have to get a hotel in City .

    Thanks in advance!!

When you start checking thing out, I think you will find it much to your advantage to spend the night in a hotel in Beijing. From what I understand its a long taxi ride to the train station and than a something like 45 miles, and than a half hour train ride . You can get a hotel cheaper there are over 5000 hotels in Beijing.

  1. Does anybody know if there is a place close to the Prime Hotel in Beijing that we can get breakfast, seems like the hotel is charging about 50 USA for breakfast for 2, a little pricey for me. Thanks

  2. Question for Travel, more and more

Going to be in Beijing first part of Novemeber, will probably stay at a hotel close to Forbidden City . Do we need to take a professional tour or can one do most tourist sights on ones own. Also can you suggest , we would like to go and see the TerraCotta warriors .

Any info you can give me would be appreciated thanks

  3. seems like most hotels on Beijing are one the cheaper side , Have been looking at the Marriott the wall, just don't know if that is a good location prices running around 150 USD and I like that, can you suggest something may be closer to most big tourist things

  4. We are thinking about doing a Back to Back on the Nordam, Will the entertainment be the same for both Cruises, Also will the food in the dining room be the same or different ,, this is a 10 and 11 night cruise, both for 2i nights

  5. Putterdude, bit confused on the last post you gave me, I was all set to buy a Fair Saver Book at the the 7,11 at the airport. But you are telling me I should get something else. Our plans are to take the sky train and walk to the Marriot on Hastings. The next day we plan to go to Grouse Mountain Tram. if the weather permits. plan on walking to the seabus on the waterfront and take the 136 bus to grouse mountain. and the reverse, Maybe going to the Cap Supension Bridge. hoping I can figure out how to get there from Grouse Mountain. On Friday before we board the Radiance we plan to get the Pender street bus and go to Stanley park, and take the Horse Carriage through the park. Plan to Board the Radiance around 1 30 or 2pm Hoping the Marriot will hold our luggage , or give us a late check out. will probably walk to the cruise terminal,,, if its too much we will just take a cab. If we don't do the Grouse Mountain Tram because of weather will probable go to Grandville Island and check out the Market there. Or.

if possible will go to the market before we go to the Grouse Mountain Tram.

So back to my question, what do I buy at the 7 11, remember we are both seniors.

If our ship leaves Canada Place 6PM what time do you think we will go by your place, would love to give you a wave. you have been so helpful Thanks again.

  6. Just 6 more days and we will be in Vancouver. great can hardly wait. I do have a few more questions. We plan to purchase the Fair Saver Book at the 7/11when we arrive at the airport, Is this still a good thing because my wife and I are both seniors. and I understand the fairs are less for seniors.

One other question we are staying at the Marriott Pinnacle on Hastings, we are going to be tired after a long flight, can anybody recommend a restaurant close to the hotel. Seafood is good, A lot of people seem to like Cardraroes or something like that. Would that be a far walk ?

  7. Can any one tell me how far the walk is from the skytrain station to the Marriot . which stop do I get off, are there stairs to walk up or down, Would I be walking up hill. Will be handling luggage, or am I better off just to take a cab

I plan to purchase a fair saver book, and use the tickets to go to Stanley Park, and maybe to the Cap... suspension bridge.

Going to Stanley Park. I understand I take the Pender street bus, where do I get off to catch the horse and buggy ride through the park,,
