  1. They are 1 liter bottles, so it's only half the rip off you thought it was! Still a rip off, though.

An alternative is to bring a sport drink bottle and get the filtered water from the buffet or ask your room steward to bring a pitcher of filtered drinking water to the cabin. Someone on here said they require you to order the water from room service now, but I'm not sure that's true. Some people are buying the portable Brita water bottles with filtration built in, but unless you like to fill your water bottle while sitting on the toilet, the filtered water from the buffet is probably OK.

Unless they have reinstateded it they stopped pitchers of water to the cabin with room service we used to order it for the cabin coffee machine. When they stopped it we asked the crew cheapest place for water in port. Now they have stopped that we shall have to order by the glass from the bar

  2. See this, NCL?

You get people into the Haven through upsells who say they will never pay the inflated full price.

Is it worth it? As long-time, dedicated NCL suite pax, like me, are looking at other options. I feel like you have taken me, and my dollars, for granted.

Used to be, I paid a lot, but felt like the value was there. Yes, there were upsells, but they were initiated by NCL, so it was not an "option for everyone" like it is now. It does change one's perspective. I do not want to book a balcony on the hopes of "winning the haven" without all the promotions... but on the flip side, I feel like NCL's current inflated pricing for booking a full suite is too much a disparity between those who upsell. Perhaps if NCL had slightly raised the prices I would look at it differently.... but it appears NCL wants it both to ways and perhaps takes their established suite customer for granted.

MSC gave me a loyalty match. Have cruised X and liked it. And almost cruised Azamara and want to. I thought I was a NCL suite pac for life but now I see myself checking other options.

    Sigh.

  3. I have an awful lot of food allergies and meet with the assistant maitre d on arrival in the dinning room I always have several copies of the food I have the allergies to-Because we tend to eat in the speciality restaurants on NCL I have known staff come to me AND SAY DONT EAT THAT ITS NOT FOR YOU

I also have p reordered the food the night before if you order and its not suitable they send something else.Last Chistmas they even made a special pudding for me as everything else was brought on board and they couldnt vouch for no peanuts.I also had a problem on HA we had a burger for lunch fortunately my husband had the same thing and as I was eating the first mouthful my husband said you do realise theres avocado in this salad I spAt it out but had a swollen mouth for 2 days I am only saying this as a message dont assume ask NCL do take this problem seriously as do celebrity and RCI

  4. We are also on this cruise and in the past we have found if the work is not completed the workmen sail with the cruise and this can be quite noisy and invasive. The last cruise we were on they were relaying the whole of the promenade deck so at least they wont be doing that this time!!!!!

  5. Thanks, everyone, for the information. We're sailing in our 1st Viking cruise next month.......Budapest to Amsterdam.

hi we are doing this cruise in October please posr relevant info

    Thanks Sue

  6. If you are on your own just 1(officially). Talk to your steward!!

Be careful with your choice of day. If you do it on a day when the "special" is offered it will take longer to go through the system.

    Hi

We are both platinum but have never used this facility however we are doing a b3b next year so could someone tell me does it come back ironed

    Thanks in advance

  7. Just left the Epic. There was some turkey with sides at lunch buffet. Manhattan had ham and turkey along with sides. Book early. We did cirque show on Xmas night - specialty doesn't change menus for Xmas

Yes they do we preordered Turkey in Le bistro 25th and very nice it was to.As I have food problems Chef made me a special bread and butter pudding for dessert served with toffee sauce and vanilla ice cream.

  8. Wait, what?

8500 GBP is $17,000 CAD. To upgrade to a Haven Suite? No way.

Somebody misunderstood something. Either you, or them. But somebody.

    .

Thankyou that is the point I have been trying to make but you seem to be the only one who can read numbers. No misunderstanding my travel agent rang twice because we are good customers approx 6 cruises per year and she was told twice and in an email this is the price for the upgrade

  9. There is certainly no discrimination!! You have choices. If you want to have whatever benefit you receive from booking in the UK, then book there. If you want the benefits from booking in the U.S., go ahead and book here. It's easy, make you choice.

It could be discrimination if they made all UK customers book inside rooms only and no other, or sleep on deck and not in a room! But making you choose how you book your cruise is not one of them.

Treating a person or persons of a particular group differently especially in a worse way Cambridge dictionary definition of discrimination

  10. Maybe I can't read properly anymore, or something...

But isn't this a complaint about NOT getting an upsell offer, which includes the details of the upsell offer they were given?

850GBP is not a bad upsell to a Haven Suite, from a Balcony. Typically the price difference would be 1500 - 2000 GBP.

I'm not sure how that's discrimination.

    .

Yes you arent reading it correctly it was £8500 UK pound at£850 I would have thought christmas had come early
  11. I am not looking to argue with anyone. The new policy was announced by both Celebrity and NCL and I was pointing out that the policy doesnt apply to Europe. So that means that we loose both ways.We dont get reductions and we dont get upsales because the pound is weak against the US dollar I booked in UK

  12. I am 2 weeks off my christmas back2back and tried to get an upsale was told by UK NCL they knew nothing about an upscale policy and was offered an upscale for £8500 pounds .Already in top balcon and offered haven 2 bed so we dont have to change cabins only cut price deals are for American customers "quote I didnt say that ,so why cant I have an upsell ,they are offered from seattle, can you get them to ring me no.This looks like discrimanation to UK passengers no thats not true"

  13. I lve in southern Spain and have done this cruise many times and the weather is very mixed We sail 19th doing B2B and we are not expecting much we always laugh as the people on the islands always say this is unusual. We have been having 25 27 but tomorrow the temp goes down and I would expect it to on islands
