We waited almost 2 months for our refund and that is after calling NCL several times.

We have stayed at the Hampton Inn LaGuardia for one night before the cruise and got a cab in the morning to the pier. No Problem except that the Hampton has no restaurant or room service. We ordered out at a place that had delivery to the hotel.

MOMMYTO2GIRLS I could be happy just smoking on my balcony after all its not like on a ship it is unusable at times. I was just saying I booked on line and it asked about smoking and non smoking. We have planned our trip for my birthday 11/9 and we got business class air for less than our cruise.

I am happy.

We are holding onto our cruise on the Spirit for Jan 2016 but if things don't change we will be cancelling that one too and will return to Hard Rock.

My money is good anywhere.

GERI C I can live with just smoking on my balcony. I spend most of my time in the casino so its not a problem. Just like to have one with my coffee in the morning and one with a drink at night. Also when I made my reservation they asked if I wanted a smoking or non smoking room so we will wait and see.

Looking forward to not having BIG BROTHER telling me what I can do.

We were on the Gem in March and went to the pool deck since there has always been smoking on one side . When I asked which side was smoking I was told they changed their smoking policy and smoking on the pool deck was no longer allowed. Only smoking was at the Bali Hai that was 2 decks up and very small. Told them I would go back to my suite and smoke on my balcony(would make a drink from my bar setup and they lost a few drink sales).

Apparently they were changing their policies then.

No problem I have cancelled my suite for February on the Gem and going to Hard Rock Punta Cana DR.

It seems not everyone received the email concerning the smoking policy changes since as I stated in an earlier post I did not receive one and we had

suites booked for 3 different cruises and we didn't receive one.

It seems the reformed smokers have the say about what smokers rights should be.

I hope you all enjoy your cruises and we will enjoy our AI stay in Punta Cana.

The old saying is "Reformed smokers and drinkers are the worse". Looks like this is the case here.

We have suites booked for a cruise on the Gem, Feb 2015 and Spirit, B2B Jan 2016 and we haven't received email either. We are seriously considering cancelling and doing AI at Hard Rock Punta Cana.

Hopefully NCL doesn't change their policy or we will be looking at land vacations.

We have stayed in the aft facing penthouses on the Dawn. We have been on the 8, 9, & 10th deck. The largest balconies are on the 10th deck.

I am still waiting for a South Pacific cruise with NCL. Was hoping for it in 2015 but it seems its a no go. We have done enough of the Caribbean and we have done Europe. Guess we may be looking at another cruiseline for the South Pacific or Australia. We love NCL but need some new destinations.

Well I guess it was because you were VIP or maybe it depends on the casino host.

I did receive a cupcake with Happy Birthday from the hotel director.

Well I was onboard the Dawn for my birthday last November and told the casino host it was my birthday during the cruise and all I received was a CAS tote(which was given to all the participants of the Slot Pull). I was HOT at the time; did not receive anything else.

Another passenger I was speaking to said the birthday offer does not apply if you booked with CAS and received a comp room(which is what I had).

I did it via email with the group event coordinator for our upcoming cruise on the Gem. No problem.

Never had a problem connecting with my laptop in the cabin but it was slow.

We give our steward an envelope with $50 on the last night of the cruise. He is always appreciative. We also fill out cards for all the crew members we feel deserve them.

I got the CAS bag also.

Our first cruise was in 1993 on Sovereign of the Seas; I booked the cruise and hubby didn't want to go(he said "What am I going to do on a cruise?) Well, he went and has been hooked since.

Did several more RCCL cruises but am now a NCL cruiser.

We have eaten at the Italian restaurants on all the ships we have sailed(Dawn, Star, Majesty & Pride of Aloha) and have love the food. The carpaccio is terrific and so is the chicken parm. We plan on eating there again at least 3 times on the Dawn repo Nov 1st.

Everything I loved to order ( oysters, prime rib & asparagus) are gone. Will probably pass on Cagney"s too.
