I booked an all inclusive day pass at Breezes.

    $80 food and drinks included.

I trying to get info on the taxis and pricing to get there.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Did you book directly with Breezes

  2. I'm sort of in the same boat, no pun intended.     Actually the American flights I wanted both left at 10 a.m.   I know the ship schedule says 6:30 but everything else I see says 6 am.   I found a United flight I booked in Business that leaves at noon.   I'm planning to self depart (meaning carry my own luggage), walk to the train station and God willing be at the airport by 8.   This is assuming they do allow people to self depart, which is done in the states all the time.    My worry is the Covid test, I'll be using the emed test and hope the connection is good the day prior.   If not I'm not sure.

  3. I don't mind paying and I do know Royal was testing passengers flying home internationally from Florida on both my November and April cruise for free.      I was really hoping they would just at least have that option even if paying.  I can't imagine the stress that last day.   I will bring an emed test from Royal with me, but being at sea that last day, just concerned about how good the wifi signal will be.      I have purchased surf & stream.

Notice the OP has not come back in almost a month now...

Thats okay.   I found this by doing a search before I was going to ask the same question, so I'm sure its helping many other than the OP.    I'm to the point I'm just trying to figure out the best option each way as I may purchase my tickets that way.   I'd really like a non stop from Orlando to AMS a few days early which doesn't seem to be.  I'm considering Lufthansa that goes MCO-FRA, then spend a day or two there, then the fast train into Amsterdam Central in 3 1/2 hours.   Returning, I just want to fly out of AMS.

I would say definitely No. We wanted a NS flight at 10:50am but knew it would be impossible so we are staying 1 night in a hotel and and taking that same flight the next day when we have better control of the time we arrive at the airport.

But right now we need a one day prior negative covid test, its my understanding the ship will test those flying home the day before we disembark.    decisions decisions.

What is the earliest you can get off ship in Amsterdam.  Can I make a 10:00am flight .

I wish.   The AA flight I want takes off at 10, even a 10:50.   My ship docks at 6:30, even if I knew I could self disembark immediately, would there be a taxi/uber/would there be rush hour traffic.  I know the airport isn't far.    too many unknowns.   Other airlines I'm not crazy about I'll have to wait until late afternoon.   ugh.

They arranged testing, for a fee, at the pier in Amsterdam on May 13th our transatlantic.  We stayed in Amsterdam for 5 nights and using my laptop did the emed tests the day before flying home.

Thats good to know that they accept the emed test for flying back into the US.  I still have two left.  I bought the three pack.   The flight I really wanted to take home is at 10 or one at 11.  Even if I self disembark that is too tight, i'd rather stay one night.  I read yesterday someone flying out of Amsterdam said it took them three hours to get through AMS check in and security.    It was a mess they said.   ugh.

  8. I used this on my last trip out of Florida.    Can I use this test and contact emed via Navica on my next sailing, but this time out of Amsterdam.   I'm not sure if I'm going in a couple days early, but might.   I think I also need a test to fly into Amsterdam.

Also if we fly home from Europe the day of disembarkation, is Royal testing us for the U.S. entry while still on board (typically the day before)????    Please say yes.

I have a question re the Vacation Protection Plan cost.

If I were to bid on a Junior Suite and Grand Suite 1BR.... the Vacation Protection Plan costs more. We paid $118.00 for our Ocean View Large Balcony reservation.  For the Junior Suite it's $298 and for the Grand Suite it's $378.00.  If you win your RoyalUp bid - do they also charge you for the additional cost of the Vacation Protection Plan?

Yes they will charge you the extra and it will tell you that when you bid up.   Also know that Junior Suite, from my perspective is just a bathtub/shower instead of a shower.    (I'm not a fan).  You also do not get access to the suite lounge, nor will you get the double points because its a royal up.    Now if you get the Grand Suite that would be awesome, except for the insurance cost added.

Lady Berard, consider the Cozumel BarHop......its a tour for $75-80US it takes you over to east side and to 4 bars, you get a drink or shot at each stop, buy your food as you choose.  We've done it a couple of times, fun, not crowded, they will take you close or all the way back to ship.

I have done the bar hop soooooooooooooo many times because I love the east side.  I'm not necessarily a big drinker.    I look at the bar hop more as a beach hop and have enjoyed many times although I went in September and it was so different.   Previously the bus was large, maybe up to 30 of us.  Taking the free shot or not, was never a problem with so many people.   My last tour only had five of us and the bars were pretty empty.    They certainly do expect you to buy another drink or food, so I felt obligated to purchase a drink   I usualy wait until Coconuts to buy a lunch.   My bill was extremelty high, so they have for sure jacked up the prices.    As usual the tour was great and the weater perfect.   I loved the gang of ladies I met as I was traveling solo.    instead of the typical T-shirt, I opted for one of their face masks.   I think the tour was under $60 though.

With taxes etc I only look at the final price not the daily.  I paid 77 even for the entire 7 days vs 82.95 posted on the web site.

So this is premiere parking.   I liked their reviews, however, I saw their first shuttle doesn't leave for the port until 11.   My NCL wellness check has me checking in at 10-10:30.    Maybe I should call and see how accurate that is.  I would assume they would be picking up passengers still at 9.

  12. I'm booked as a solo on the Gem in later this month. I booked that about a month ago. I got a fairly decent inside (free at sea) cabin on deck 11.   I then bid $250 (fair bid) (but remember I have to pay double, so in reality $500.    I happened to see that the price for family balcony cabins were slashed in half.  I called yesterday to see about repricing me in one of those cabins.   I paid an additional $419 and have a confirmed (i was able to choose any family cabin, mid, aft or forward).   The rep was extremely patient encouraging me to pull the deck plan up and choose my own location.  I kept all the discounts and past cruise extra points when I initially booked.   So no need to bid  now.

  13. It’s a scam if nothing else.  Bashing NCL and the insurance company and consulate.    Insurance would have covered her and a good portion of ncl medical.  Once she refused to go to the hospital insurance can tell her to pound sand.    She didn’t need to be airlifted because she was docked at Cozumel where there are good doctors most who speak English.   Many ex-pats live there.      How many suckers were scammed into thinking their donations were going to get this boy airlifted off the ship.   I believe Cozumel was the only port of call.     She set up this go fund me instead of getting off the ship and was talking to reporters.  And we take her word and embellishments. She should be sued to return the money.  Outrageous

  14. Most travel insurance will cover you transported to the nearest qualified facility so I think that’s why she doesn’t think they will cover her sons infection.  She refused to go to the hospital.   But to start a go fund me page that I’ve heard is well over 50k just rubs me the wrong way.   Her son had the cut before boarding but initially she did allude it happened on board.   She probably quickly realized they had video of them boarding.  I totally feel this is nothing more than a money grab.   What’s wrong with people that were scammed by her.  Did they really think they were giving money towards her son being medavaced?    Child protective service should have a sit down and get her some counseling.  Poor baby boy

That's the price I get for solo with the 150% supplement on the 5 night Nov 9th-  It was $600 plus for refundable.  Same sailing balcony for 2 comes to a bit oer $1900 with only $99 for refundable.

I just booked this quickly.   Studio balcony.   The discount they applied was my C&A D+ balcony disount and the BOGO50 discount.    I have over 340 C&A points now.   Am I also eligible for the 150% single supplement?     That would be awesome if I could apply that as well.  I have heard you have to call them to apply that discount.

    Thanks.

Riding a  bus with a carryon bag works fine as you can put it in the space next to you or stand with it in the area set aside for prams (which is what we did).  But, if you have anything larger than a carryon suitcase, you need to arrange for a taxi.  It’s just too unwieldy to try to manouver a large suitcase on a crowded city bus.

I don't know too many cruisers who sail with "a" carry on bag.  But thanks for the clarification.

  17. when I read the website about taking bus 25 or 27, they do say these public buses are not equipped with luggage racks, so where does one put their luggage if they are leaving the cruise port heading to the airport.  I can only imagine that wouldn't work, a busload of passengers disembarking with luggage.

  18. I've done the cozumel bar hop 5 or 6 times. At least 3 as a solo.  You aren't really at any bar long enough to have to sit alone at the bar.  Actually at the bars is where you will likely inter-act more with your fellow passengers, chit-chat and the like.  For me, I have a routine, know my favorite places to sit after my free shot, feel the sun on my face,, or get my feet wet, in Coconuts get up to the top quickly and choose a seat above the cliff to enjoy the view, order nachos and a drink and just take in the view.    I feel extremely safe in Cozumel regardless what I do, but especially on the bar hop, which is really more of a beach hop without swimming.
