  1. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good hotel in Ft. Lauderdale? We didn't care for the one we stayed in last year,. It was close to the Boatyard restaurant, but that's the only positive we found.

  2. My husband and I received a certificate for onboard credit from our Celebrity cruise last September. We're leaving on another Celebrity cruise

in six weeks and I was wondering what we do with that certificate. Do we take it to the customer relations desk?

    Thank you

  3. We were on the Reflection last September in the Med. First time on Celebrity; we LOVED it! Food was way

better than our Oceania cruise the year before (though the food on Oceania was great two years before that)

We had absolutely no problem with anytime dining, and always got a great window seat or the next one in.

Never had to wait even though we were dining in peak times. We loved this ship so much we wanted to do it again in the Southern Caribbean but the dates didn't work for us so we're taking Celebrity Silhouette in September.

We've cruised Carnival, RCI NCL, Oceania, Silversea, Costa, Azamara, and Celebrity and honestly this was one of our BEST cruise experiences.

  4. Time before we used Native Choice and went to the Chachoben ruins. Last time, we took a taxi into Mahuahal, went to the lighthouse, saw the big Mahuahal sign right beside it then found a quiet, secluded beach not far from there.

    How did you get back?

  5. I experienced exactly the same as Sandbag7 on our Marina cruise last week. I giant slab of pink meat,

no marbling or taste, in fact I couldn't cut it.( I ordered it medium rare) The potato experience was just as dismal. Very

    disappointing!

  6. I just had the same experience as Sandbag 7 on the Marina last week. I ordered the Queen's cut,

medium rare, and got a pink slab of meat, no marbling, no flavor, absolutely the worst piece of prime

rib I've had in my life...such a disappointment!!

  7. Hello,

We are looking to book a family vacation - a European cruise, my brother and I are late 20s and my parents are both 60 and fairly active.

I sailed on Norwegian last year with a friend and we got to take a quick peek at The Haven on the Getaway, and thought it was incredible.

Has anyone here had any experience with NCL's Haven and can provide a comparison between Oceania and The Haven, in terms of cabins, service, food, entertainment, amenities, etc? I'm a bit concerned we might be bored on a small ship, given that we're looking at possibly sailing in October. We are looking at the 2-br family villa and honestly the bathroom itself is enough to sell me on it (:hearteyes::hearteyes:) but I'd love to hear what others have to say who have experienced both!

    Thanks!

We have cruised in a Haven 2 bed, 2 bath suite once, and we have also cruised on some small ships, Oceania, Silversea, Azamara.. The Haven experience was fantastic. It should be a great fit for you and your parents, as you and your friend will have plenty to do, and you have a peaceful private place to escape to when you want to get away from the crowds! In the Haven we had butler that brought us a hot breakfast every morning, concierge service to escort us down the employee elevator to be the first on the tender, and more. We also had the sundeck on the very top of the ship with incredible views, and a small workout area next to the private pool.

You're right, the bathroom was INCREDIBLE! For this trip, go on NCL, you'll have plenty of time to enjoy the food and service and peace and quiet on the small ships when you're old like us, lol. Have a great trip!

  8. We really enjoyed this event. It was easy to tender to shore where they had tables set up in front of a stage. The tables were set with carafes of wine, and Greek desserts. The music and dancing, combined with the setting on the water was really special. Some people joined in a wedding 'conga line'. A highlight was the fireworks display over the Quest. Much more fun than wandering the town, imo. Have a great time!

  9. My husband and I have stayed at the Continental Palacete Hotel twice, the second time about 4 years ago. We'd like to stay at the Continental Hotel on Las Ramblas this time. We really liked the Continental Palacete both times, but the beds were SO UNCOMFORTABLE, very hard like boards.

Has any one stayed at the Continental Hotel in the past year or two and can tell me how comfortable the beds are? Thanks so much in advance!

  10. We just got off the Quest, our first Azamara cruise, and loved it, with the exception of the internet service about which I commented in another post earlier. I was expecting, however, for the staff to be AMAZING! They were fine, but no different from our other cruises, though we loved captain Carl, and the CD, Russ, must be the hardest working cruise director in the business.

Food on board was the best we've ever had. Itinerary our favorite of 14 cruises. We will definitely cruise her again if the itinerary suits us.

PS, We enjoyed our Azamazing evening, a Greek wedding, in the port of Chania and the white party ( actually the after party in the Looking Glass)

  11. Someone mentioned why internet is so important, that they never use the internet...well, some of us are still employed, some are business owners or independent contractors who MUST stay connected. After taking 14 cruises with 6 different ships, the cruise on Azamara which we just completed had absolutely the WORST internet service of all!! It's painful enough having to use vacation time to do work, but when you sit, sit, sit, waiting for a connection, or have to reconnect and do all your work over, it's more than annoying!! We understand that the internet on board is not going to be what one has at home or the office, but it can be much improved! It is possible, other lines have done it! That was our biggest complaint, but even with the extra cost in minutes of waiting, and aggravation, we still will cruise Azamara again.

  12. We had our return flights cancelled about a week ago, six weeks out from our cruise. It was a great itinerary, found by ourselves, and booked through Choice Air. We needed to rebook that part of the air, but were told we would need to 'erase' both going and coming and rebook to change it. In doing that, we were warned, we risked losing what we had, seat assignments, 'premium' seats, etc., so we left things as they were. Disappointing, but that is the way it is with airlines any more.

  13. Enjoyed a cruise on the Silver Spirit in 2011 and, for the most part, enjoyed the trip; however, we found the passengers and crew to be rather aloof, and the food to be mediocre. The ship is pretty, though was in need at the time of some new carpet in places. We recently took a trip on the Oceania Nautica which we liked much better than the Silver Spirit. We are booked for our first Azamara Cruise in August..would have taken another Oceania cruise, but they didn't have the itinerary we wanted. We are looking forward to our Azamara experience!! BTW, there weren't many tuxedos/gowns on our cruise, though people dressed up more than other cruises we've taken, including Oceania.
