  1. I wonder if the schedule/compasses will change once Freedom goes to Port Canaveral...........other than the home port of course. :p

I am sure they will. Doesn't the itinerary change as well? I think the Eastern from Port Canaveral is going to either Labadee or Coco Cay - correct? So that right there is a change.

  2. Quick question for those who recently sailed on FOS.....

(I'm sorry if this question has been posted......I quickly skimmed through the post)

Last year we took our first RCCL cruise on The Liberty. We LOVED the DECT phones for keeping intouch with our 2 teenagers.

We convinced our friends to try The Freedom, and they sailed out on Sunday. She sent me a text message that RCCL no longer has DECT phones. (GASP!)

Does anyone know about this????? They were perfect for keeping tabs on 2 kids who are old enough to not have to stay with mom and dad......but gave us the piece of mind that we could contact them and let them know about changes in plans.

    Any information is appreciated.

    Fran

Dect phones were available on the 3/22 sailing of FOS. I saw many people with them. But I have also heard that they can run out.

  3. I'm going on the western cruise next week and promise to bring home all the current compasses and scan them. Not sure where I'll be able to put them (website) but be sure I will find a way. I have had no luck finding anyone to post current ones. The only ones I have found are a year old.

Photobucket is free - and pretty easy to use. I just scanned all of the compasses and uploaded them into an album on Photobucket. They have a url link that you click on and it copies it for you to paste into a post. Very easy.

Enjoy your cruise! Freedom is a fabulous ship.

  4. Thanks for doing this. I'm sure it took some time and it is well appreciated.

No problem! I really wanted to see some current compasses before I went on my cruise - but none were to be had. It was only right for me to post what I had asked sooooo many times about! :D

You guys are just lucky I figured out how to use photobucket (um, and my scanner )!!

  5. I can remember a few questions that I have read along the way on this thread that I have answers to now that we are back from our cruise.

    1. Yes, you can still have your balcony opened up to another balcony. Our room steward did this between my balcony and my sister's balcony. He did have to check to make sure that it was OK before he opened it up.

    2. The curtain in a D1 cabin does not go all the way across the room to separate the couch/bed from the regular bed. Someone asked that a long time ago.

Can't remember any of the other stuff off the top of my head, but if you have a question I will try to answer. :)

  6. I thought I would try to post this here and see if I get any response...

DH and I are thinking of booking an Eastern Caribbean cruise on FOS in the next few months, but I'm wanting to look at a copy of a recent Compass from this cruise and get a better idea of what kind of activities they have during the cruising days.

I know the Compass won't be the same, but it will give me an idea of what to expect.

    Thanks a bunch!!

We will be on the Eastern FOS next week and I am planning on bringing back copies of the compasses to scan and upload. I have asked several times for recent FOS Eastern compasses with no luck. Maybe someone that was on last week will post them. If not, I will post mine when I get back.

  7. Cuizer2 - Thanks for those pix!!! Only 25 more days to go for me and you are helping them go by faster with all of those great pix!!!

I can't see how people say they cannot find a pool chair - it looks like there are SOOOO many. And I do not mind at all being "above" the pool. Oh well, I guess I will find out for myself in a few weeks. We will be on Freedom during Prime Spring Break time here in the midwest. So I think the ship will be pretty full with LOTS of kids (mine included ;))

  8. If I tell you it will be too easy to get the bridge picture for the scavenger hunt. :p

There are two ways to get there. However, I can only explain one way (I know both ways - but I can't explain the other way).

Go all the way forward on deck four. I've only done this on the starboard side, but it should work on the port side also. You will then come to a flight of stairs up. Go up. Walk forward. You should now be on the helicopter pad.

    Cool - Thanks! And don't worry - I won't tell anyone else! :D

  9. Hi -

Just off the 2/8 Eastern sailing. I do not have a scanner, but i can relay any info from the compasses for you. Ask away!

I asked on your other post (promenade cafe food, ice show tickets). Thanks!

I just like to look at the compasses and dream :D!! Only a few more weeks for me.
