I'll be in a Regal penthouse suite leaving this Sunday (3/26). This will be my first cruise in a suite and looking forward to it! I've looked at the list of full suite perks and have several questions:
1. Do you have to make advance reservations for the specialty dining on the 1st night? (medallion app not letting me make any reservations right now.)
2. Do you tip the concierge? How much?
3. How long to get your laundry back?
4. Do you get free access to the lotus spa thermal hydrotherapy pool?
5. How, when, where do you get the "welcome glass of champagne"?
6. Are the "chef's 'welcome goodies' on embarkation evening" the same as the canapes you can request on subsequent evenings?
Are these in your cabin or in the concierge lounge?
Thank you in advance for your help!

I understand the Sensation will go into dry dock in January. Has anyone heard what kind of updates/upgrades are planned?
-
Thanks to you both. I will be on the Sensation on Sept 28. This is one of the cuts that bothers me the most. I like real butter, not the fake stuff that I understand Carnival is now serving.
-
In the dining room and buffet, could you tell if they were serving real butter or not? Was it served individually, or in a communal "crock"?
-
That's what I thought. Thanks.
-
Do they have refrigerators?

I have 3 questions....1. What deck are you on when you first embark in Miami? 2. Which dining room was for any time dining? 3. Do you know where the smoking areas are?
Thanks in advance

THANKS for your reply ddgg...Is it a pain getting off and getting back on? I know you can stay in the same room if available when booking.
Not at all. They gather all the b2b people and an officer escorts you off the ship, through customs, and back on the ship. You won't have to take your luggage off or stand in long lines. You usually have an hour or so when you have the ship all to yourself before the next bunch of passengers board. It's great!
If you're sailing again in the same cabin, you don't have to pack anything. I usually tell the steward not to bother cleaning my cabin until last because they have a LOT of work getting the cabins ready for the new passengers. If you are changing cabins, pack everything except your hanging clothes. The steward will move everything to your new cabin.
I've done several b2b's on different ships, but never the Sensation until this year. I'm doing a b2b on her in September and then again in March. I'm in my 60's and I cruise solo. Sometimes the crowd can be rowdy, but I haven't encountered that very much. Plus, I love to sit with a drink and "people watch", so I'm prepared for any type of crowd.
Let me know if you have any other questions.

I've done several b2b's and I love them. Do you have any particular questions?
-
no offense taken, I was also joking

No. I didn't look under the bed, either.

Could be. All I know is that none of my cabins had fridges. Maybe they were installed after October 2018.

From Carnival's site:
The following ships have non-stocked mini bar units in all staterooms and suites: Carnival Breeze, Carnival Conquest, Carnival Dream, Carnival Elation, Carnival Freedom, Carnival Glory, Carnival Horizon, Carnival Legend, Carnival Liberty, Carnival Magic, Carnival Miracle, Carnival Paradise, Carnival Pride, Carnival Radiance, Carnival Spirit, Carnival Splendor, Carnival Sunrise, Carnival Valor, Carnival Victory and Carnival Vista.
I have sailed on the Elation, Legend, and Victory--always in a balcony cabin--and have never had a fridge.

I am elite, so I know most of the options available for the mini bar. However, will they allow a swap of soda /booze for tonic water?
-
I know this is an old post, but curious why you no longer like the aft view cabins?
Doug
I didn't like the fact that there was very little breeze. Also, I like to look forward and not just at the wake. Actually, an aft-wrap cabin would be perfect, but I travel alone and they are just too expensive when you're paying the 200% fare.

On my last cruise (I flew to the port), I forgot to switch the one bottle of wine from my checked bag to my carry on.
It was confiscated.
-
I would say no. You can't take in anything that "provides concealment". I will be going there as well, and I'm going to wear shorts with pockets to hold my wallet. I also have a small camera that will be on a lanyard around my neck.
Here's a link to a page that lists the restrictions.

I haven't been to a specialty restaurant in over 10 years. At the Crown Grill, is wine included in the cover price? If so, is it a glass or a bottle?

TriumphGuy....Which sailing are you on? I just booked Feb 25.
dcrow72...R746 was already booked, but I got R743 based on your recommendation.!

1)
4) I use to like rear facing cabins.
I had one aft facing cabin and decided I don't like them. Both cabins I'm considering are port/starboard cabins.

The Crown would not have Guy's Burger Joint.
Boy am I embarrassed! I know that. My only excuse is that my last few cruises have been on Carnival (that and my brain cells are deteriorating!)
-
I've never been on the Crown, but thinking of booking. I have a few questions I hope some of you can answer.
1. Does the Crown have Guy's Burger Joint?
2. Is there an adults only pool?
3. What is the difference between the horizon court and cafe caribe?
4. Which cabin would get your vote: far forward on Lido deck (15), or very far aft on Riviera deck (14) under rear portion of cafe caribe. (Don't refer to ship motion. I'm well aware these cabins will feel more movement than others, but I actually like that!)
Thanks for any information--especially from those who sailed after her dry dock.

Thank you to all. Great answers and very helpful!

I'm sailing to Hawaii on the Legend this September. All of the ship/private tours I've seen visit the Arizona Memorial. None of them just go to the USS Missouri.
I've never been to Hawaii before. Is there an easy way for me to go to the Missouri on my own? How far is it from the cruise pier? Are there taxis at the pier?
Any help you can give me is appreciated.
