If they've got your number, the reservation will be in the Marriott App and in your account on Marriott.com. Easy check.

Yep and I check yesterday, they have our requests for early check in both the day before the cruise and the day we get back from the cruise. so keep your fingers crossed

  2. We are staying at the Residence Inn in Newark/Elizabeth but before the cruise and after.. my question is because we dock so early in the morning and we can leave pretty much anytime we want, then what do we do between the time we get off of the ship and the time we can check in? Has anyone called the hotel and asked to check in early?

  3. I'm not sure I understand what you are saying here.

Were you not comfortable because everyone dressed up and you didn't?

Or because you dressed up and no one else did?

or you and everyone else dressed up and you just weren't comfortable in dressy close?

Also, what cruise line were you on?

We were on RCI and we are just not the type of people that want to dress up. We did as everyone else did but just were not comfortable. We are from Cheyenne WY and even in the most fancy restaurants u wear jeans for both and a nice polo for a man and a nice blouse for a woman...

  4. The last time my husband and I cruised to Alaska we just didn't feel comfortable dressing "up" for dinner. Is there anyone out there that feels the same.. We would just want to bring our jeans a few nice shirts and hoodies with our rain coat and or winter coat if we choose to go at the beginning or the end of the season.

  5. My husband and I have only been on one cruise to Alaska and we were not at all comfortable with the formal night on our cruise. We just want to dress comfortably and enjoy the views. Does anyone else feel this same way? We are thinking of going back to Alaska in 2017 for our 20th Aniversary.

  6. You're just fine. Nothing wrong with not wanting to bring special clothes just to wear for 2-3 hours at night. Your jeans-Tshirts-hiking boots are perfectly fine for Alaska. I bet that is the common "dress code" in Cheyenne for anywhere. It's the same where I live. "Western formal" is clean jeans, a nice shirt and boots with all the muck cleaned off ;)

That is a very correct statement. There is no eating establishment in Cheyenne that a pair of jeans is not excepted.. That is all we ever wear out, of course work we have to wear business casual but jeans on Fridays..

  7. I am going to take a cruise to Alaska in may/june timeframe. I was wondering if it is worth the money to get a room with a balcony. I plan on doing the Inside Glacier cruise but also a lot of excursions. can anyone help?

For us it was the only cruise we have been on. I wanted a balcony and we did have some extra money, but as others have said it has to be up to you.

We are going back to Alaska in 2017 and will be getting an Oceanview instead of a balcony for me as long as I have natural light then I am good.. I would rather spend my money on other parts of my vacation.

    Good luck with your choice.:)

  8. We have only been on one cruise but we are going again in 2017, just can't afford a cruise every year, but we brought nice clothes and for the most part we were very uncomfortable. This next cruise we will be going back to Alaska and we will be bringing only jeans t-shirts/sweatshirts and hiking boots.. we will bring one nice outfit, but still nothing fancy as it will be our 20th Anniversary on one of the days we are cruising, so we will be going to the dinning room that night.. but the rest of the time will be spent on other dinning areas.. we just aren't the kind of people that like to dress up, but we love to travel and sight see...:)
