I think $40 for two chairs and an umbrella is a little steep. I know its a vacation, but jeez. Guess they got the monopoly there.

I actually just called RCCL today to change our dining to the Classic-first seating for our cruise in October. They were able to do it without any problems. Hope it works out for you!

199 are you outta your mind!!!!

Im pretty sure you have to use them for a new booking, and within 30 days.

There is one thing I like to mention in chair hog threads hoping Royal will catch on. Sometimes I like to use the pool for an hour and don't need a chair, but I need someplace to put my shirt, towel, and shoes where they won't get wet or stepped on. If they had a cubby nearby, like a lot of gyms do, that might free up some chairs.
I think that same thing sometimes! Me and my DH sometimes just want to use the pool for a bit, and there is never anywhere just to put "stuff." This is such a great idea, I hope Royal does catch on.:)

Seeing that the windjammer serves food until breakfast time, makes me happy! No worries, mon! :D

So I checked this out and it appears to only be good for new bookings. Can you confirm this or can I use it on my already booked cruise later this year?
No, its only good for new bookings, must be redeemed when you book, and is only good for 30 day, so virtually impossible to use for some.....

I have been in touch with him and see seems very nice. Let me know how your tour goes.
We had our tour Sunday. Despite the federal shutdown. Ellis still made this tour happen. We werent able to go to the main tourist area in the rainforest, but he took us on two other trails that he said is mostly frequented by locals. He indicated that the locals would revolt if they tried to keep them off these trails. Both trails led to a nice water area, fed fish, and saw some brave souls climbing rocks and swinging out a rope to dive and jump into the water. After both hikes he then took us to a local small place to eat. We had pork, rice and beans. It was a good day. He even stopped twice for us, to get drinks, use restroom, and pick up some beer for our night at the hotel. He was a very nice gentleman. He is originally from PA, but has lives in PR for almost 35 years. You should have a great time! :)

We used SXM Deals. Their website is: http://www.st-maarten.com/index.php/recommended-activities-water2/sxm-deals1
I'll get into more details about our day with them in St. Martin, but I don't know if I'll have this finished before you leave. To sum it up, I highly recommend them. They are very organized and have set times to assure you will be back at the ship with time to spare. Great communication and very friendly people. Pinel Island is BEAUTIFUL!!! If you go there, I don't think you'll be disappointed. I hope you have a wonderful cruise. :)
Thank you!!!

Great Review so far, we leave in a little over a week to go on the Valor. I have a question about your St Martin excursion, Who did you use? can you give a website? We were thinking about Pinel.
Thanks!

Anybody use him? Any thoughts? We will have all day Saturday before we sail. DH is having second thoughts about the rental car. Thinking about doing this:
I have a tour set up w/ him for 10/6. I will let you know how it is. He has a facebook page as well. You might want to touch base w/ him to see if he is available.

We flew out of Knoxville at 11am on US. this would put us in San Juan right about 5pm. Just enough time to drop everything off to the hotel and then head out for lunch.
We got a great rate on the Ciqala hotel. Be warned, it's in a bit of a sketchy neighborhood, but the rooms are clean and the beds were some of the most comfortable i've ever slept on away from home.
My mom is a big research person, like myself. She had reviewed some other trip sites and knew immediately that there was going to be an issue when they put her in 702. She had previously read that this particular room had issues with the air conditioner. She was totally right. Her room was like a sauna.
The front desk promptly moved my folks to the only other room they had available. The Penthouse Suite....at no extra charge! Their room was huuuuuge. It also had a large jacuzzi, a full kitchen and fridge, as well as a rainforest shower head. It was pretty amazing.
Can u elaborate on sketchy? We r staying there in oct. and would like to get more info, ty!
