As far as I remember the drinks package was never available on the Melbourne Cup cruise.

If you call P & O you can pick your own cabins.

While I don't believe this will happen, I would likely spend more time in the casino if it were smoke-free.
There is no smoking inside any ship sailing out of Australia

For #7, cruises to nowhere are not allowed any more. And those private destinations are part of other countries that may or may not be allowing cruise ships to dock.
They are in Australia, we can also cruise from state to state in Australia.

I dont disagree, all smoking should be banned.
Even from the casino (hear this might happen).
Already has when sailing out of Australia

We've already got some bad news, the amazing Solarium on the Quantum is ONLY for suite guests. We're sailing in veranda staterooms so looks like we won't have access to one of our favourite parts of the ship. We also tried booking the North Star for 4 of us, over a month to go for the cruise and there are no time slots available which can take 4 of us together. This inspite of the fact that you've got to pay $20 per person to try the North Star.
However, judging from our previous 4 cruises on Royal Caribbean, we're sure we will have a good time once we are onboard. 😊
Cheers!
Nick
We sailed on Quantum out of Shanghai to Japan in March this year, loved the ship and the cruise.
Very different to other RC cruises we have done, you are right about the Solarium it is for Diamond and above and silver suites and above and was pretty much empty every day.
We originally booked a balcony on deck 7 but when we discovered that we could not go in to the solarium we upgraded to a junior suite 7238 right on the hump starboard side, the cabin was great.

During embarkation day have they offer you to use a special lines ? (the silver/gold) ? have you got access to CK during nights ?
We were in a junior suite, silver card and were able to use the priority line for embarkation.
Coastal Kitchen was restricted to full suites only.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't casinos non smoking out of certain ports? Australia? Southampton?
Why is that? Local laws perhaps?

I like a good cigar at night when I cruise. I don't mind being relegated to an outdoor area away from the masses when I do care to lite up a stogie. Otherwise I do not smoke. I would like to see all cruise lines eliminate smoking from indoor areas, especially the casino. It can get toxic in there with the low ceilings and large numbers of people. Now RCL has gone a little down the road on the larger ships, having one side of the casino be non-smoking. It certainly helps, but surely doesn't eliminate the issue.
Already happened in Australia

Will be a pretty good effort to get a cruise ship to Mount Fuji

So here is a weird coincidence a woman fell off a ship half a world away at very close to the same local time

Video has shown she jumped off the ship, did not fall off the ship.

Hi All,
The following link is to a video of the Pacific Star coming into Noumea. It was taken from the Aloha deck of the Pacific Dawn on the 12/11/07.
