So now their handing out tickets !

Since it only seats 250 people max, there must have been quite a line up.

    What times were the shows?

Our tickets are for 9:30, not sure if there's another. And now it's Thursday not Friday, per new Patter notice.

Yeah, that banana split- is it still there?

Yes.  Went there this morning for pancakes and bacon.  They even made me gluten free pancakes.  A dinner selection chosen from last night's Italian night was on the menu... probably changes every night.  Rest of menu stays the same.  No line to get in 10:30 AM.  Deck 7 dining room reservation for 4 at 7:20 PM...no line or a short line only.  Food very good, including one dinner at Rudi's.  Alfredo's lunch on sea day...no line around 11:30...good GF pizza.  One odd thing, no OJ on ship in Americana Diner today or last 2 days on in-room breakfast.

Ship has higher energy vibe.  Stood in line for Dome show but now we have tickets for next one there, Patter told where to go to get them, DH got 4...hallway outside a bar, don't know which one.

cant stress this enough and they do read these and take these seriously. Just filled this out for our January Regal cruise. DW has a dairy, egg and gluten allergy. Within 72 hours of submission someone reached out directly to DW to ask if she would prefer Rice or Soy milk (they do not offer almond milk FYI). I think this is fantastic customer service.

This has worked well for me (celiac). When we did anytime dining, I made sure to get the head waiter's name who took my order for the next day.  If we went to a different dining room, it was easy for them to locate the information.  I often ordered breakfast items on the hangtag in the cabin or with the app and specified gluten free toast, which they brought.

We bought air through Viking and paid the $50 to pick our flights.  With Viking's air promotion is was still several hundred dollars less than anything we saw on our own.

Agree; did the same, then dealt with airline to upgrade to premium economy.  Viking rep met us in Amsterdam at 6 AM and with another couple on same flight took us directly to ship, had breakfast, took a canal cruise and our cabin was ready.

Has any one experienced   the coordination of their dining times with seeing the main shows  ?

We are particularly interested in using the 7:15PM last dining ;but ,we do not know when the last show will be seen ?

We were on the CB over Thanksgiving and tried traditional late dining as opposed to anytime, which we have been doing.  Table for 2, but got to know those at the table for 2 on each side of us (they are close together).  Although pre-cruise info said 7:15 PM, onboard it was 7:45, which worked fine.  Elite/Platinum Lounge open from 5-7, then show at 6:45 (usually), then dinner.

Used to go with Anytime Dinning but the lines started to get to long so switched to Early Traditional.  Now they are changing Traditional Dining times to earlier 5:00 and 7:15.  On next cruise have chosen Late Traditional but will see what happens on ships that are sailing now and seeing if the ships actually change their times.

As far as late port days.  In the past the ship has gone to all anytime dining on those days.  No Early or Late Traditional, just show up when you want and hope to get in

We are also again trying Traditional Dining (7:15) on the CB after doing Anytime on the Regal and Royal several times with mixed results (mostly okay and table for two usually available, sometimes able to make a reservation and sometimes not, some nights long lines and slow service).  On a port intensive cruise like Alaska, we'd go with Anytime, though.

  7. Princess has been great for me as a celiac (gluten-free required). I have signed up ahead of time and have had anytime dining. One thing I would recommend is getting the name of the head waiter who takes your order the night before for the next day. With ATD we were not always in the same dining room, and this was extremely helpful to the staff. As others have said, a chef advised me what to eat in HC. They do have gluten-free bread, with a separate toaster; I also ordered GF toast with room service breakfast with no problem.

  8. Is this close to the cruise ship port? Do you recommend it for a day trip? Do you just turn up at a stop and board the boat? And finally for now if you don't get off at any of the stops do you end up at your starting point and how long would this take?

    Thanks

Highly recommended! Just a few blocks from Terminal 2 to under the bridge where "taxi" boat stops. Like a Hop On Hop Off -- entertaining narrative and lots to see. We did this on a B2B in November on our FLL port day.

  9. Well we just took our first cruise with Princess on the Regal Dec.7th of this month, but we did gamble some in the casino so perhaps it is the casino rate. However we didn't spend that much money so it maybe worthwhile to put $40 or $50 in the slots in order to get these good rates. IDK I'm new at this, haven't been on a cruise since Carnival in 2003 so I'm thrilled to get these offers and hope they keep 'em coming. [emoji1]

Good idea! We were on a Regal B2B beginning Thanksgiving and received (for the first time) the casino rate offer via e-mail a few weeks later...booked the GTY balcony for 299 on the 2/18 cruise, got our cabin today on mid forward Riviera deck. We play craps and blackjack, but don't spend much more than that (did give them our cards when asked this last time). Looks like we will be meeting quite a few "gamblers" on the cruise next month.

  10. Also on the Feb 18 sailing. My niece will be traveling with us and she is gluten free. Would love to hear how your friend is managing?

Also will be on the February 18 sailing; we did B2B on the Regal beginning Thanksgiving week. I eat gluten free (celiac) and did not have any issues with anytime dining, room service, or buffet. On the Cruise Personalizer, I noted my dietary requirements and received e-mail confirmation. The head waiter will take your order for the next evening and accommodate your preferences; if you go to a different dining room, they can still find your order. At the buffet where I sometimes had lunch, I asked a chef to show me what is gluten free. On the room service breakfast card, I requested gluten-free toast and received it every time. I did bring my own cereal and some Kind bars. There was really nothing for me to eat at the Pub Lunch, but I did enjoy gluten-free pizza at Alfredo's (no need to order a day ahead, as on some cruises). The poolside grill has French fries using a dedicated fryer, so I enjoyed those. All in all, an easy way to deal with special diets.

  11. Recently returned from a land tour in Cuba with Collette Tours -- we were required to have medical travel insurance...thought this was a condition of our visa. Our tour guide told us that the major export of Cuba today is medical care -- to Brazil, Ecuador and Venezuela.

  12. Alfredo's on Regal has very good GF pizza, but you have to order a day in advance. When I was on the Caribbean Princess, I had not yet been diagnosed as celiac. On the Regal, you meet with the maitre'd the night before to pick the next day's dining room dinner. The buffet has a wide selection, and someone will come out and explain to you what is GF that day. I noticed they had a separate toaster for breakfast...all in all, they seem to be aware of cross contamination issues. You can also request GF pancakes in the dining room for breakfast. They will bring GF toast for room service breakfast. I did bring my own cereal...not sure if they have GF cereal. I have seen it on cruises, but I think that was in Europe/Australia/NZ.

  13. I have to be both gluten and dairy free how is Princess in providing me with food items for my special dietary needs?

I have to follow a gluten-free diet...entered this in the cruise personalizer and called the 800 number. They require a fax to the dietary coordinator indicating your special dietary needs.

A cruise this past January on the Celebrity Solstice was the first cruise I've taken since being diagnosed. It seemed to be no trouble for them (having notified them ahead of time)...they even had made-to-order pizzas at the buffet...used separate utensils. So, in a few weeks I'll see how it goes on Princess.
