  1. When comparing Oceania and MSC Yacht Club, it's clear that they offer very different experiences. Oceania provides a quiet, adult atmosphere with limited entertainment. The food is consistently excellent, creating a calming and wonderful overall experience. It's ideal if you plan to explore ports during the day and return to a relaxing evening on the ship.

In contrast, while the Yacht Club offers a relaxing enclave, the rest of the MSC ship can be overcrowded, loud, and busy. The overall experience differs significantly. Although MSC offers more activities, navigating through the crowds can be challenging. The food is satisfactory but doesn't match the exceptional quality of Oceania's meals.

However, MSC does serve the best pizza I've had on any of the 57 ships I've sailed on. But let's be honest, I don't cruise just for the pizza...LOL.

How did you like the Haven as I am considering a transatlantic cruise and though I like Oceana for a port intensive cruise I feel it may be too boring for a transatlantic cruise with many back to back sea days.

Some Haven's are better than others.  The newer ships have a nicer set up.   Look at the deck plans and design of the ship to see if the Haven is one of the good ones.

For a TA I am not sure of the Haven because it depends on the ship.

As for Oceania, I would not like a TA since food isn't everything I enjoy on a ship.  I found the entertainment severely lacking.  Oceania is wonderful for a new port every day cruise in Europe.

The NCL Escape and the Encore have a great show called the Choir of Man just for an FYI.

  3. I have been on Oceania twice.  I have been in the Haven 8 times, the Retreat, and had MANY suites on Oasis class ships with Royal.  I have also been on Princess, and Carnival years ago.

I just went on my first MSC Yacht club cruise on Seascape in July.  I really enjoyed the YC.  The rest of the ship is a Zoo.  I would go on MSC again but I would not go if the YC rooms were not available.

I would cruise in any room on Oceania.  While it was a boring crowd, it was a polite crowd with great food.  Oceania is not my first choice for cruising!  I really like the Genie concept with Royal for entertainment and food.

With that said, MSC YC is great for an inexpensive cruise.  The entertainment is just OK.  The food was fine but nothing to rave about like the food on Oceania when I cruised with them before covid.

  4. We brought an HDMI to HDMI cord and attached the TV to our computer.  Then changed the source button on the remote.  We pulled up xfinity but we could have pulled up netflix.  It was easy.  Sometimes the wifi did slow down a few times, but still was fine.

  5. I just got off the seascape last week.  We were charged $112 each on the second day of the cruise for a total of $224.  It was not a daily per day charge like I usually see on other cruise lines. We were told this was a charge for the whole ship and did nor really cover the tip to the waiter, asst. waiter, room attendant, and Butler, etc.  I was really shocked.  We always tip them extra, but we were told they really get very little of that money so large tips were expected?  So another few hundred dollars to all the staff.......

  6. Have you priced getting 2 rooms?  2 people in each room?  It may pay to just enjoy two bathrooms instead of 4 people in one cruise ship room.  Sometimes the price savings is not much more to just have the two rooms instead of crowding into one room.  Then you can get the 4 wifi connections too.

  7. MSC is different from the 5 other cruise lines I have been on.  You need to be 21 to be in Casino instead of 18.  Sorry I mentioned that.

  8. Give him money to try the Casino.  Our kids loved turning 18 and trying their luck.  My oldest was angry when he tripled his money.  He kept saying it should not work this way.  I should have lost my money...  We kept laughing and said next time you might not be as lucky...LOL...  We taught are 3 young adults to have a limit they planned to lose on the cruise and then STOP.

  9. My husband just did the same thing 15 minutes ago.  He was setting up his account since we log in for check in tomorrow.

We called and were told it would take 5+ days to correct it.  Or we could just set up with a new email address.  He has 3 email addresses so he used a less checked email and all is now working and his reservation now works.

  10. Are daily tips charged to the room for the waiters, room steward, etc.?  We always give extra above those room charged tips.  We are planning our first MSC cruise soon so I am not sure how it works on this ship.  The butler was never charged as a daily charge to our room so we know what we are doing with that.

  11. Thanks.  I was hoping they had water that was not spring water on the ships.  Other cruise lines always have multiple types of water because of this issue.   If they have the Nestle Pure Life, then that works.  You sure that brand is on the ship?

  12. "Acqua Panna is an Italian brand of bottled water and one of the world's largest bottled water brands. Acqua Panna takes its name from Villa Panna in the hills of Tuscany, where the natural spring was first discovered. "

This water is natural spring water that naturally has many minerals in it.  What other types of water do they have on the ship?

  13. What type of PURIFIED WATER (reverse osmosis) does MSC carry on the ship?  I don't mean tap water.

I definitely do NOT mean mineral water or SPRING water.  I want CLEAN, mineral free water.  I drink about 6 bottles a day a day of reverse osmosis purified water.  It is all I drink all day.  Aquafina, Dasani, and other brands of purified water are fine but I can't find any listed in the drink menu's  Please if anyone can check for me what brand of  purified water do they offer on the ship?  Thanks so much.

We can attest to that !  On a recent MSC cruise somehow our cruise card was used to ring up fifty drinks on the first night in the casino.  We informed guest services the first four were ours, and not the rest, but they weren't bothered at all.  By the end of a seven day cruise we had 350 drinks on our all-inclusive account for no charge...

That is crazy!  MSC was not concerned with who was charging on your card?

We have cabin 19018 next month.

I just youtubed a bunch of that category cabin on the Seascape.

While watching one in particular...it showed the sofa bed out. The cabin seemed so spacious with the bed out that

I actually wondered if it was a handicapped cabin.. It was not.

BUT,,,at the end of that video, they said that cabin did NOT have the walkin closet !  Then there was another video with the same thing.

The main reason I got this cabin instead of the YC1 was because of the closet.

Has anyone stayed in 19018 & can tell me ???   not that I can do anything now because there are no more available.

I would just rather find out now the when I board. I was under the impression they all had the walkin closet.

    thanks

Did you end up having a walk in closet in cabin 19018 on the Seascape.  We are booked in this room for one of out upcoming cruises.  I did not see that room number on the list of YC rooms with the large closet

  16. Not sure what a CLS is?  But you can order some of your meals to be delivered from Coastal Kitchen if you are in a Suite.  They are open for every meal so why would you need food from the MDR.  If CLS stands for Crown Loft suite, then why wouldn't you spend your time in concierge and Coastal Kitchen for your meals?  They do deliver

  17. We did our check in this morning.  We did ours and I had a picture rejected and then resubmitted the same picture and it was accepted.  Then we did my in laws check in for the same cruise.  My mother in laws picture would not work.  We did many pictures, logged in and logged out.  Did all this over and over like a crazy person, sometimes trying the same thing.  Spent two hours on just getting her checked in, since tech support does not work on the weekends.  Then I went back to the first picture and all of a sudden it was accepted.  NCL has a broken system.  You need to log in and out over and over and keep trying a few different pictures and  then suddenly it will work.  This system sucks.
