Our ship arrives in Lima the morning before disembarkation. With most of the flights to the US departing around midnight, instead of spending the next day touring and being dropped at the airport (been to Lima a few times already) we will be leaving the ship the night before disembarkation and catching a flight home. I have already notified Oceania of our plans and they said it would be no problem. Has anyone done this at port Callao in Lima? How long does the ship's shuttle operate into the evening? I am considering booking with isouthamerica.com or should I wait until I am on the ship and see what they can arrange for us?

Any help or advice would be appreciated.

We booked the Singapore to Los Angeles flights also. Our flights are not until Jan. 22. We're on Cathay Pacific leaving Singapore at 10 am, connecting in Hong Kong and arriving in LA at 1:15 pm. That flight won't work for you unless you spend an extra day in Singapore. Cathay Pacific has flights at 12:55 pm, 4:35 pm and 6:15 pm that connect in Hong Kong to the same LA flight which arrives at 8:35 pm. These flights have from two to seven hour layovers in Hong Kong. I would take the afternoon or early evening flight and do some sightseeing in Singapore before the flight. There are also flights on Singapore Airlines although I don't think the flight times would work as well for you as the Cathay Pacific flights.

Thanks for the information. I've looked at all the flights and found limited availability in the afternoon so we might have to follow your suggestions. Glad to hear that Regent was okay with your choices.

David Fr, did you book Singapore LAX on Jan 18 yet? Wondering how they handle that since most flights are early morning. (we're looking at leaving out of PHX and returning to TUS - same cruise)

In terms of whether or not Regent and Oceania offer identical excursions, this will be easy to check soon. Regent's Mariner and Oceania's Nautica both leave on the same itinerary on November 24th. We will be on Regent and will book excursions next week. Oceania excursions are not yet listed (or were not two days ago). It will be interesting to learn if the excursions offered are the same. Choices may be limited in Africa so it is very possible they will be the same but obviously not the price.

I have a question about booking Regent excursions. A week after booking with my TA, I logged into my Regent account to make sure I was registered, etc., and I was able to access all the shore excursions. After that day, I couldn't find them anywhere (just the calendar) so I sent myself the pdf so I could review the excursions. I can book excursions at the end of April - will they show up on my "booked cruise" page on the appropriate date or will I have to do something else? (I took one other Regent cruise but booked after the deadline and booking the excursions was easy).
