Over a month to refund a deposit is ridiculous. Even three weeks is way too long.  With other lines I usually get a refund within 48 hours.

I asked for for my refund on 2/12.  The itineraries don’t appeal to me and I don’t think I’m the right demographic for the ship (floating Fyre Festival).  I expected the refund would have posted by now and was going to ask for others experiences when I found this thread.  Guess I’ll wait another week or two before I reach out.

Update:   It’s been 8 days since refund request. No refund yet.

  3. The port and main tourist areas were not impacted.  Blexie posted on Facebook that he and his team are ok and everything that has to do with his Havana tours is fine.

  4. I've used Park 'n Go a few times.  At first I was very happy with them.  I think they've become a victim of their own success.  The last time I used them the lot was very crowded, I had to leave my car keys with them (which I'm not all that comfortable with).  When picking up the car, the shuttle driver had to circle around the lot a few time before he was able to find some of the cars he was looking for (they had been moved).

This time I'm going to just park at the pier.  The difference in cost isn't that great.

Fascinating book on the whole Chandris/Celebrity story I just bought from an Australian publisher, saving it and going to read it on my next cruise

If I were you, I'd put on some gloves, seal that book in a baggie and lock it in the safe.

Quick search online showed sellers asking $800 - $1500+!

Not something I'd use to reserve a deck chair. :classic_rolleyes:

The book was discussed on Cruise Critic in 2009 when people were wondering whether is was worth the then price of $40.

  6. Bonnie,

Do you know when the Azamazing Evening will be for the February 2, 2019 Cuba sailing? We have an early departure from Santiago de Cuba so it won’t be there.

We have 2 overnights in Havana so I’m assuming it will be one of those nights. Trying to look at options for whichever night of the two is not the Azamazing Evening.

    Thanks!

  7. I think it was mentioned recently that the ship is going to drydock

good news you have over a year to find another cruise

The drydock was reportedly going to be in April, 2019, this cruise was September, 2019.

With all the recent comments about the Regatta I'm a little relieved actually. Maybe they are planning a major overhaul to address some of the issues that have been coming up, maybe they got a Charter. They're telling my TA that there was an issue with docking availability that caused them to cancel.

Right now there's nothing on their website for the Regatta between September 6, 2019 and September 24, 2019. They're offering $1,000 cruise credit which would allow me to book an earlier cruise with a less attractive itinerary for only a few $100 more per person than what I was paying. I think I'll pass.

Trying Azamara in February for a Cuba cruise, we'll see how that goes.

  8. Visited the O website today to check on pricing of the September, 2019 Alaska cruise I booked and was surprised to see that the sailing was not listed.

Logged in to my account and the sailing did not show under booked cruises. When I tried to add it, I got an error message that the booking was cancelled. :o

Had my TA check and she says she was just informed that the sailing was cancelled. Waiting for her to get back to me on details.

Guess O didn't want me back.

  9. Glad to see they added Barristas and the Grill in Terrace Cafe. Good improvements.

Is what used to be the cabanas area used for something else or is it open space?

On a 9 day sailing, do Concierge cabins get 1 or 2 guaranteed reservations in each of the 2 specialties?

Went ahead and booked. Now have 16 months to lurk here and get up to speed.

    Thanks all!

  10. First time I was on Regatta I had a PH and loved it. Can’t justify the cost for this trip but I’m thinking of a concierge. Cost is not much more than balcony and the laundry perk is nice to have.

  11. Looking at booking an Alaska cruise on the Regatta in September 2019.

I’ve been on the Regatta before so I’m familiar with the ship. But It’s been a few years since I’ve sailed on O. My Last O cruise was on the Marina in 2011.

So what, if anything, has changed in the last 7 years? When I used to frequent the O board here on CC, there were lots of discussion on the calamities that would befall the line due to NCL ownership. How has that turned out?

I see Regatta is scheduled for dry dock in April 2019 so she should be in good shape.

Are the cabanas still there? Might be nice for scenic cruising if the weather is good.

Is the alcohol policy still the same?

Looking forward to returning to O.

  12. Thank you for your timely and informative reply! I hope that the above website will be updated soon, to show the 2018 schedule! Even Celebrity could not tell my TA which pier the Millennium will be docked at. It is difficult to book private tours or transfers when such information is not available.

Aomori is not a big city. Your private tour or transfer will know where the Millennium is and meet you at he right pier.

  13. Hi there. We have cruised before, mostly with P&O but we are particularly keen on an itinerary on the Millennium. We are confused about some stuff - can anyone help?

    1. Do you pay an additional charge of 18% each time you order a beverage on the Classic Package?

    2. If you have the Classic Package, can you order anything above US$9 per glass? If you can, do you pay the full amount for that particular beverage, or just the difference?

    3. Do Celebrity ships carry Jameson Irish Whisky?

    4. Does the Classic Package include any South African wines?

    5. Are there any charges for Room Service?

    6. Is it possible to have just coffee from Room Service when I wake up, i.e. no food?

    Thanks.

    1. No

    2. I believe the current policy is you just pay the difference between the price of the drink above $9 plus 18% of the difference.

3 & 4. Will vary from ship to ship / itinerary to itinerary but probably.

    5. No but people usually tip a dollar or two or more depending on the order.

    6. Yes.

  14. There are still no excursions listed for Kochi Japan, where our cruise docks in September.

The port is located in Urado Bay - which is far from sights that we will want to see. From what I can tell, neither of the two tram lines or the tourist bus have stops near the port.

Does anyone know if Celebrity will offer a shuttle to town or tours of Kochi?

    Sandy

I'm on a Celebrity cruise with a stop in Kochi this September.

Since your post is over a year old, I'm assuming your cruise is over.

Can you tell me what the deal was in Kochi? Did the port provide transportation, were cabs available?

    Thanks.
