Does anyone know if you can just walk to the dolphin encounter in Costa Maya? (it says a 5 min. walk) We just want to watch the grandchildren. We don't want to swim. Or do we have to pay for it all? I'm willing to pay to get in to watch but not to swim.

NCL doesn't give you much flexibility to pick anything other than your desired dates of travel (per the conditions in the promotion) and your starting airport.  They pick the flight times and any connections.  You may get a very early morning flight or a late flight on your travel days.  You do not get to pick your airline or your seats.  Once NCL books your tickets and notifies you, you can then contact the airline and PERHAPS change seats, upgrade, etc. if that airline permits such things.  If they don't, then you are stuck with what NCL purchased for you.  

 

It is a nice offer when you're open to being fully flexible in what NCL might set you up with.  However, if you're going to be miserable if you are stuck in middle seats for a return flight from Miami that doesn't leave until 6pm and have to make a connection somewhere rather than a direct flight, then you might consider just booking on your own.  That's just an example, of course.  

 

Roll the dice or not.  Many people take advantage of the offer and have been very happy.  Some have a different opinion.

We just got our air fair from NCL that was the promotional air. Well we leave at 5:15 am the day before and coming home we don't leave till 9:35pm. Not very happy. To sit at the airport that long is crazy. They will not change things. I will NEVER do that again

I'm from Wisconsin so I leave from port Canaveral and return to port Canaveral.  Fly home from Orlando.  

  When we get on the ship we have to have a covid test 48 hours before. Do we have to be tested when we get off the ship to go home? We are flying home and my husband thought we needed a test when we get back to the states. I haven't seen that. Can anybody help me please. Thank you

Does NCL sell distilled water for people with CPAP machines? When you fly down it's hard to carry water with you, any suggestions? Thanks

If we are staying in Tampa before our cruise out of Miami,  is it ok to drive to the POM the day of the cruise? Is there enough time to get there? Or do we take a hotel the night before closer to the port? 

How easy is the parking of our car at the cruise terminal? Or do we find a hotel that we can leave our car there and then shuttle to port?   Thanks in advance for any advice.

Where do we find the golf carts to rent? Should we try and reserve one and do you remember how much? Thanks

Can anyone give me some helpful tips on parking at port of Tampa.  Is there shuttles from the garage or  would it be better to do valet parking. We have a couple that have walking issues, how far to walk to terminal for carnival ship? Thank you in advance

We had a sticker that says DX on our sea pass card when we picked it up. Then just go to any bar and order your drink. No charge. (up to $13) Don't forget to get bottled water from any bar also.

Day 8 - Disembarkation

 

Woke up around 6:30 and we were already docked. Turned my phone off airplane mode and got a bunch of non imessages. With VOOM I was well connected all trip. Don't know if that's good or bad. Got ready and went up to windjammer for breakfast. It was already pretty busy. I think it closed at 8am. Lot of people already making their way off the ship. Since we had the latest time, we took our time. But we had to be out of our cabin around 9am. So we went back down to our cabins and packed up our carry on bags. Left our cabins by 9am and went to the Silk dining room to wait with the rest of my family.

 

It was a little bittersweet sitting around talking about the cruise and trying to figure out when we'd see each other again since we rarely do. Finally by aunt, uncle and family had their numbers called and we had to say goodbye. My parents and I were left to wait for another 10 minutes before we were called. We were literally the last ones called. They basically said "Ok, everyone else, get out now!". Exited the ship on the Royal Promenade level, down the ramps and into the terminal. Had to wait on line to get down to the main level where the luggage and customs were. Finally made it down and we could see our luggage from the escalator as they were by our number and there weren't many bags left. Grabbed bags and got on the customs/exit line. Took about 20 minutes. You could probably call your uber when you're close to the end of the line. I waited until we were through customs and exited the building so we waited 15 minutes for our uber. Customs was quick and painless. They didn't open anything or look through any bags. As soon as we exited the building the pickup area was right in front. I ran into my cousins there waiting for their uber. Since we were the last ones off (there were literally nobody behind us on the customs line) the waiting areas weren't that full. Just waited at curb for a few minutes and the car was there. Got the the airport within 15 minutes and off to the Delta Sky Club for a few hours before we could board.

 

Well that ends my trip on the Allure. It really was a great time. The boat is great and so big with so much to do. The crew was amazing. Very helpful and friendly. The food was above average, just wish there were hot items available past 9pm, other than Sorrentos pizza. Entertainment was very good. I did the survey that RCL wants you to do after I got home and I more or less gave them solid 8, 9 and 10's. Though they weren't too happy with the few 8's I gave because they asked for follow up.

 

Thanks to everyone who followed and I hope you found my review informative and not too boring. It was nice having you along for the ride. I'm actually going on a cruise to Alaska on July 14 but on Norwegian this time. Don't know if I'll have time for that in depth of a review but I would like to compare and contrast. Plus I'll definitely take pics of menus and food again. I'll also be on excursions at every stop unlike this trip. Well look me up on the NCL board next month if you want to hear about it. ;)

Just wondering if you called uber before your trip to set things up or just when you called after getting your luggage. Never have done uber, but I am set up with the app. Thanks. We leave in 13 days.

Excuse my ignorance, but have they started including wifi in with the drinks packages?

The deluxe package with voom. $54 a day when I was looking or you could order it without it at $48

My hubby and I have ordered the drink packages and only the one with voom. I know it says 1 device, but can you switch devices back and forth? I have a tablet and a phone, I didn't want to carry my tablet around to take pictures to send back home or post it. Thanks for any answers.

We are going on the Allure in July, I have a question about the comedians. Are there 2 different ones or are they the same person, just on different nights. I really don't want to see the same person twice in 7 days.

Can anyone please tell me how far out you can reserve My time dining? I thought I read 120 days out but then I heard only 60 days out. We are on the allure and there is 9 of us and would like to sit together, so it is important to reserve.

Also...this internet package is awesome! 7th deck and no issues at all!

Would like to rent a car for 1 day from Fll and drop off in Mia for cruise out of the port of Miami. Do any car rental places have a shuttle to POM. I think that would be cheaper then a taxi. We are staying at a hotel with no shuttles, or would it be cheaper to take a taxi. Thanks for any info.

We are going on the Glory in Jan. and it leaves out of MIA and we get off in San Juan. What is the best way to get to the airport from the ship. Taxi, or shuttle? Also if we site see alittle what do we do with our suitcases? Can we send them to the airport somehow?

I was just wondering if everyone buys the travel insurance that carnival offers or do you buy your own from some where else?

We were on the Pride last April. We paid for gaurntee ov and upgraded to a 7a balcony, room 5153. We were more then happy with it. The view wasn't all that bad. The life boats are there, but you can see over them to the ocean, you just can't see the water looking down. It was still nice sitting outside drinking coffee in you pjs. (order room service). We were in between boats also which might make a difference from being directly in front of.
