  1. I was on the same cruise as the OP. I would be in agreement on most things. When we researched Celebrity - we read the food was outstanding. Maybe our expectations were high. I will say the menus were very uninspiring. There was no actual appetizers outside of Shrimp Cocktail or Escargot - only soup and salad. The food was not terrible - just rather bland or too salty I would rate it just ok. I think the buffet had a LOT of selection. I agree the Entertainment lacked, and some of the spaces they used just did not work.

I think an area they shined - the staff were outstanding. Probably the most friendly we have experienced. I will say we liked the bathroom which felt more spacious but to get that you give up a lot of closet/storage space which we really like. For 3 days it is not a huge issue but anything longer it would not be as doable.

I think some of you on this thread have said it best - you like what you like and there isnt anything wrong with that. We all choose different lines for different reasons!

Book what? Main dining with times. I could only do specialty dining times.

Yes main dining. The first option in the deck 5 dining room was traditional. Went to deck 6 midship and was basically able to select what I wanted in increments of 20 minutes. Either private or shared. Then asked if I wanted to sleep for duration of vouage

So would I do YC again on this ship?  Still not sure.  Here's why.

    1.  I like skipping lines.  Other than embarkation, always was in lines getting on ship at ports.  Even yesterday at Nassau, special YC area gone by the time we arrived.  Although it was late, we had 30 YC guests or 10% from Sun Cay.

    2.  Door for deck 18 and 19 broken the entire cruise.  Yes, was addressed not only by me but others.

    3.  Extremely disorganized staff in restaurant.  We never had same table, waiter...  Yes, I did talk to concierge to ask what I should do and commented to YC director yesterday before I got off ship in Nassau.  She offered a bottle of wine and I said no, we were treated as well as others like afterthoughts.  Only the big groups and b2b were replenished with water and drinks.  A bottle of wine is an insult.  Correct your staff.  My daughter told her we almost missed an excursion and were late for a show even after my mom said something because no one checked on us plus our food was cold once.  So based on the food, I wouldn't choose YC again.  It was not good.  Plus yesterday, again, we were downstairs for high tea in the TSL.  For 35 minutes everyone around us got attention, drink orders taken, tea poured...  We ordered originally from TSL bar when we walked in.  No drink.  My daughter got up to ask and the bar staff said what did you want again?  We asked the one waiter about the tea items and he said oh you wanted it?  I kid you not.  After this we went back to YC director.  I said look, this is getting ridiculous how we keep getting ignored.  This was an experience we both wanted to see and honestly your staff just ruined it by ignoring us.  People who came in after us were being fawned over.  My daughter said to her we were treated as if we didn't belong there or weren't good enough.  The YC director did apologize for that and asked if we wanted a special dinner or to go back in as we just left and I said no, the damage was done.  We just want you to know what happened and why this experience was subpar with the TSL.

The pool deck bar was much better and friendly.

    4.  Our room attendant and butler were nice but we never once got 1 bottle of alcohol other than my Diamond bottle.  No daily treats.  Just chocolate next to pillow.

In conclusion, I like YC but not on this ship.  May be the size of ship, the shorter itinerary?  We have the Magnifica in November and will probably cancel the Seashore YC in November as I honestly don't want to pay for an experience and have to jump through hoops to get what I want.

Hey! We were on this sailing - and recognize you from your photos. I can help but read your 3rd point in this thread and. Honestly my wife and I verbatim said a lot of the same things you did! We felt like we were after thoughts and the servers were treating others who were in big groups - or clearly repeat cruisers on this ship in the YC differently like everyone else!

  4. This is interesting. Last week our excursion in Montego Bay was 2.75 hours later then the published times. I was curious what if we left ourselves an hour or so and had a massage booked?

We also had a Panama Canal tour through the locks that was 2.5 hours late returning (I understand the tours are at the mercy of the canal authorities).

As they say. Ship does happen!

I am sorry for hijacking thread for a minute.  AND if someone already wrote about this tour I am sorry too as I have not read through everything yet.

We were able to do a tour called the Scavi tour but booked so far out as they only take a few people an hour.  It is an underground tour of the Vatican where we saw an area containing. St. Peter’s bones and so much more.  This was the highlight of our Vatican Day.  Planned it for first tour.  You write them on the “contact” heading with possible days.  Only 13 euro each.  THEN, the best part is that you can go immediately into the Basilica from end of tour.  No waiting in that line.  It may be already full or not work with your time, or you could be claustrophobic.  It was amazing.  The line for the Basilica was huge when we finished and came out.  Here is a link:  http://www.scavi.va/content/scavi/en/biglietto-di-ingresso.html

I can agree! We did this in the fall of 2019 and one of the most unique tours we have ever done.

  6. I had the same issues. Return from Barcelona on AA was ticketed with I requested early ticketing. My flight to Rome on United was not. Princess/EZAir kept saying that United was ticketed as well. I had previously called United and they assured me that it was not. After going through the process of speaking with a rep with Princess for 25 minutes they finally transferred me over to EZAir where I waited another 30 mins to speak with someone - then after an hour of being on the phone it was finally ticketed.

There are reports on multiple online media (here, Facebook, etc.) that virtually everyone is having issues with the app today, especially with their boarding group choices having disappeared. I feel especially sorry for those people who are boarding today. As I've mentioned elsewhere, we've been having multiple issues with the app for a few weeks. Our Princess Vacation Planner has been pushing the folks who run the app to remedy the issues and, miraculously, as of last evening all our issues seemed to have been fixed.  And then this morning, the app was freezing again and our boarding group selection had disappeared. We don't board for another couple of weeks, so can be patient for a while longer, but it is incredibly frustrating.

One thing someone else suggested, which we have now done, is if/when the app starts working again, take screenshots of your QR code, your "green lane" status, and even any Dine My Way reservations so that at least you'll have some record if the app crashes again before boarding.

Fingers crossed that they will get this fixed SOON! 🤞

Once it is up and running - I will do exactly that. I dont know call me crazy but when it comes to travel I prefer paper - it never lets you down.

Have to get there early to get one, tho'.

And careful, one of the seats has a "view" of a column. 😱

Yes! And despite us telling people who want to sit in that one that you can not see anything. They still insist! Then 30 seconds later leave.

jimbo, I sometimes don't agree with your posts, but in this case I think you're spot on! Either shut down all transportation or none! To focus on cruising is foolish and shortsighted!

Agreed! We been saying this for weeks. This industry is being attacked! When airlines were still flying, theme parks still open etc.

They do not have to report to the CDC
