Check out the Sea to Sky Gondola at http://www.seatoskygondola.com. It's an hour from downtown Vancouver and might be an option your family would enjoy.
-
Another option is Schokolade Artisan Chocolates & Cafe which does a High Tea.

Thanks, I appreciate the update. Will just have to see what's available the next time I'm in Vancouver.

When I was in Vancouver this past Jan there were a number of food trucks located in front of the Art Gallery. Are they no longer there? I was planning on having lunch there the next time I was in Vancouver.

Check out the Sea to Sky Gondola at http://www.seatoskygondola.com. It just opened last year.
It's about an hour from Vancouver and if you don't have a car you can easily take a bus tour.
Enjoy your visit.

My preference would be to take the Canada Line to Waterfront Station and at Waterfront transfer to the Expo/Millennium line to Burrard Station which is right by the Hyatt.
There probably isn't much difference in the distance you'll have to walk, from the Canada Line (Vancouver City Centre stop) north on Georgia Street to Burrard Street and the Hyatt or if you take the Canada Line to Waterfront Station and walk to the Expo Line departure point.
I'd rather tote my luggage through Waterfront Station between the Skytrain lines than down Georgia Street at night. Even during the day I think I'd prefer to transfer between the Skytrain lines. No trying to pull a heavy suitcase over sidewalks and across streets.
And thinking positively I won't even think about the possibility of hauling a suitcase down Georgia Street in the rain.
Wishing you sunshine and a wonderful vacation.

tutuwahineLV & leaving from Ballantyne Pier
We left from Ballantyne this year. It's about 2.7 km (just over 1 1/2 miles) from CP. Cab fare will be just under or over $10 depending on the traffic.
The area is certainly not as beautiful as CP, but embarkation is just as easy. My only problem was I arrived around 2 pm and the lines were very long. I arrived at the busiest time, but that can happen at either embarkation point.

You will need exact coin fare for the Translink (public) bus. On weekends the fare is $2.50. You can catch a bus on level one (arrival level) of the airport. You might have to transfer to another bus at the Airport Station, the bus exchange just a few minutes from the airport.
As I don't know which area of Vancouver you want to go to, I can't tell you which bus you'd take from the Airport Station exchange. You can check out the Translink bus system at http://www.translink.ca.
I've taken the bus with one piece of luggage and a carry on bag without any problem.
If you were coming a few weeks later you could take the new rapid transit Skytrain service, from the airport to downtown at Canada Place. I believe it's due to open around Labour Day.

I highly recommend Changing Tides at #203-175 Franklin in Juneau. I was short on time when I visited the shop on my last cruise and could only spend a few minutes there. It's going to be my first stop when I'm in Juneau this May.

3-4 Hour DIY Tour Suggestions for Juneau (No Car Rental, If Possible)

I highly recommend taking the bus to Mendenhall Glacier. Even on a rainy day (on my first visit there) it was worth it. The views from the Mount Roberts Tramway are wonderful especially if the weather is good. If this interests you, you can walk to Saint Nicolas Russian Orthodox Church. I enjoyed seeing some of Juneau on the walk to the Church. We had a whole day in Juneau so were able to do all of these things. If I could pick only one I would go to Mendenhall Glacier. Take the bus. You don't need to rent a car. Hope this helps and have a great time.
