  1. I will simplify the figures in my hypothetical example so as not to confuse (famous last words). The example is hypothetical but it may be real life in the cruise I am looking at. Ok, so I see a sail away balcony for $1500 a person but I want to pick my balcony so I click on category BF, 8th deck. $1800 a person. However, I don't get a map to choose from because they are presumably "sold out". I complete my booking anyway and am sitting with $3600 owing as opposed to $3000. So for the extra $600 where could my balcony be? Have I thrown away the extra money or is it good only for the perks which I wouldn't get with the sail away choice. Why would they not say "sold out - choose another category"? Anybody else ever encounter this?

With the balcony catagory BF you will be able to get to choose two of the free at sea promotions example: Ultimate beverage package (value $89.00 per day per person guest 1 & 2 only)Speciality dining package (3 or 4 meals depending on the length of your sailing) (value 69.00 per person 3 meal package guests 1 & 2 only),250 minutes of WI-FI time, or $50.00 of shore-excursions credit for each port per cabin not per person. Your location of you cabin is chosen by the ship. The sailaway balcony guest will not get to choose the promotions. Here is the link to the promotions https://www.ncl.com/cruise-deals/choice. I hope this helps in your selection or call NCL 866-234-0292 they are very helpful :-)

  2. I noticed a notation on my vacation summary at NCL.....it said, "Due to security reasons, all guests must be on board 2 hours before sailing".Wondering if this is just for the first day of boarding or is that for coming back to the ship after each port? We don't have much time as it is for the ports ...most ports on our cruise sail-away at 5PM. Seems a 3 PM return is really limiting our time in port so I hope this rule is just for the first boarding day.

That is only for the first day. The time you need to be back on board will be posted at the gangway when you disembark at the individual ports of call.

  3. Hello all,

We are considering a cruise on the Norwegian Getaway. This is our first Norwegian cruise, so we are new to the class of ship. Coming from Carnival, we like quiet corridors and the least rocking of the ship. We can pick from decks 8, 11, and 13. Which deck would be best to pick from?

    Thanks in advance! :)

Deck 13 is a nice quiet deck mid section :-) this deck is sandwiched between cabin decks so you will be far away from public spaces.

  4. If you booked online through NCL.COM I would give Norwegian Cruise Line a call and have them check your reservation as a lot of times it will default to the 250 WIFI minutes. There number is 1-866-234-7350 and they will be able to add the package for you. Make sure you do it before 7/31/15 as that is when the promotion ends

  5. If you booked your reservation through a travel agent contact your agent and have him/her contact Norwegian Cruise Line to let them know of the assistance you will need, or if you booked direct with Norwegian call their office with your reservation number and let them know of the assistance you will need. Their number is 866-234-0292
