  1. We have a cabin with three people in our cabin.  If we select the perk with the free dinning, I know it is only for the first two people in our room.  However, if all three of us dine at one of the ala carte specialty restaurants, can we just use the free dinning for the two of us, and then have the third person only order one item off the menu, or even just have the three of us share the two meals at a place like the Q? I wasn't sure if they were strict if the third person doesn't order much, or doesn't even order at all.

    Thanks for your help.

  2. Has anyone recently done the Sled Dog Discovery & Musher's Camp excursion in Juneau through NCL, and if so, what are your thoughts? I really want to do a sled dog excursion on this cruise. I was planning on seeing the sled dogs in the Yukon Territory on our drive, but recently found out they are likely to be closed since we aren't cruising until September 15th. The price is pretty high for this excursion, so I want to make sure it's worth it, but could only find very old reviews on it.

    Thank you for your help!

  3. We will be first time cruisers and can't decide between the Pearl or the Bliss for Alaska this May 2018. We're specifically looking at the roundtrip from Seattle and definitely don't want to miss Glacier Bay (both offer it) but just can't decide which ship to book! On the Pearl we can get a forward balcony for about $900 cheaper than any other option as the best deal but afraid of the wind factor in May, or a mini suit aft for an additional $700, Or go on the Bliss aft balcony for only $200 more than the Pearl's mini suite's rate.. so undecided. By the way, we're a young couple (early 30s) with 4 year old. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! :D

Personally, I would go with the Bliss; which I am this year! I sailed the Pearl last year to Alaska, and while I enjoyed the trip, I found there wasn't always a lot going on around the ship. I also wasn't impressed with the shows. However, I do love mega ships, which I know a lot of people don't. I haven't had a problem with big crowds on the mega ships though, and I love that there is always something going on if I feel like doing something.

  4. We just got an acceptance of our upgrade offer. We leave Sunday on the Pearl. We originally had an ocean view cabin, and in the last few days upped our offer to the max of $350.00, and got a balcony. It would have cost us approximately $1,000.00 extra for a balcony if we booked it, so I'm happy to only pay $700.00. I am a little nervous though as it's a PrivaSea balcony, and I've never had one of those, but I'm just happy to have a balcony!

  5. I'm booking on the Pearl today and I have a question regarding Bid Advantage. I've been reading the boards, but am a little confused about it. If I decide to book an ocean view room, and then bid on a balcony, will I not know if I get the balcony until 48 hours prior to sailing, or do you know sooner? I really want a balcony, but at an extra almost $1,000 for the room, that's a lot!!!

    Thank you for your help.

  6. So people can see you on all the aft balconies? I don't think we want that then. I like to just be able to relax on my balcony without people looking down at me.

Is the spa balcony worth an extra $100 a person, or should we just stick with a regular balcony? I noticed for $30 more you could get a large balcony? Is the balcony itself larger, and can people look down on you since it is larger?

  7. I'm a little confused, which deck do people think is best for an aft balcony and why? I realize it hasn't sailed so no one knows for sure, but I can't really tell which is best by looking at the website.

Should we book an aft balcony or a spa balcony? They are both the same price.

  8. I'm looking into booking a room on the Breakaway, and I was wondering if it was worth it to spend an extra $100 a person for an aft balcony. I've never had an aft balcony, so I didn't know if they are worth the extra money or not.

Thank you for your help in making the decision.
