A Danish airliner was getting ready to land at Stockholm's airport. The control tower contacted the pilot and asked for his position. This surprised the Danish pilot so he didn't say anything. So the air traffic controller in the tower contacted the Danish pilot again. "Please tell us your position." The Danish captain finally understood and replied: "I'm in the front seat on the left hand side, as always..."
John.....that's a good one!

Shame on me! 1000 apologies to you and all the other Norwegians!

No apology needed, John. By the way AndersEn, at least in my case, is Danish. But you can call me anything, as long as you don't call me late for dinner. OH.....that's so bad!

Prinsendam:
Capt. Halle Thon Gunderson
Capt. Chris Turner
Hey Copper, Captain Halle Thon GundersEn spells him last name with an E. I'm not being picky, but since my last name of Andersen is also spelled with an E, I am pretty particular:D

I assume that you realize that you will have to take a ferry that is operated by BC Ferries from the Tsawwassen terminal which is 45 min to an hour from downtown Vancouver. May 27 is a weekday so you will be dealing with the commuter rush however for the most part you will be going against the rush.
So your two practical alternatives, leaving aside transit and float plane service, are to rent a car or go by Pacific Coach Lines which specialize in trips between Vancouver and Victoria and they will pick up upon request from your hotel. I have attached a link for both Pacific Coach Lines and BC Ferries. No matter which mode you choose, the trip will take between 4 to 4 1/2 hrs each way.
Should you decide that you wish to rent a car and drive, I would recommend that you consider making a reservation for the sailing you select and that will cost you an extra $15 each way. With the reservation you are guaranteed a place on the sailing but you must arrive at the terminal a minimum of 30 mins before the sailing and not more than 1 hour before the sailing. I would add that the sailing to and from Victoria is a very picturesque trip thru the Gulf Islands.
Thank you so much for your help. I guess we won't have time for the Butterfly Garden. It was worth considering. I really appreciate your help.

Have any questions? Well so many of you have helped me when I visit your cities, so hopefully I can help you.
I know the city well and work as a transit driver. And if anyone else from Vancouver knows an answer feel free to help too.
I would appreciate some help in arranging transportation from Pan Pacific Hotel to Victoria Butterfly Gardens on May 27. I will be traveling with my son, daughter in law and 2 small grandchildren. Any help and approximate costs would be helpful. I assume a taxi would not work too well?

Last June we were in Stockholm docked at Frihammen and we took the bus to Vasa and then we took the ferry over to Gamla Stam (Old Town).....I had ordered the Stockholm card ahead - and it included transportation, and my entry to Vasa Museum, various venues at the Stockholm Palace in old town, and the city hall (fabulous!!!).....since we overnighted in Stockholm, we took the public transportation at night again to the Ice Bar (pre-reserved spots).....
Here is a guide to help you with using the public transportation if you decide to use it instead of a taxi - very well marked, easy to use, and English is widely spoken/understood...

Thanks for the link. I will use this tomorrow, when my eyes are fresher. Off to bed for now.

I am sailing on the Prinsendam and I think we will be docking at Frihamnen 638. Does anyone know what the approximate cost for a taxi from the port to the Vasa Museum? I don't want to take the ship tour, which includes a long bus tour around the city.
