What happens if you want one of you to go to bar to get drinks for both of us (the other being elsewhere), do you have to take both medallions to buy them or will they both get put on the one account?

    From another topic -

Some bartenders are willing to split the drink order between 2 medallions and some will say they are and still charge just one.  Based on that, my hubby plans to rotate which person gets charged for 2 and check our balance regularly.  We won't get to 15 alcoholic drinks, but might if they include specialty coffees and juices and charge just one medallion every time.  We'd rather keep checking than deal with Guest Services...

  2. Thanks for the warnings! Hoping the Meraviglia issues are mostly transition problems from moving from Europe to Florida.  Please keep posting, particularly if you have any hints. We've been on 20+ cruises on other lines - November will be our first MSC cruise. Glad we only booked 4 days!

  3. Thanks to everyone who posted! Hubby has tried to convince me to cruise to Alaska and I've been hesitant - until I read many of your comments.

If value is a consideration (it is with me as well) and driving not a problem, you might consider a driving vacation to New England. We went to Maine - Acadia and Bar Harbor were our destinations, but we stopped along our drive to/from DC.  I love cruising, but enjoyed this trip as much.  We went late August/early September. Lobster, hiking, star gazing, whale watching, strolling quaint New England towns...

    Good Luck with your decsion.

  4. Now that most locations post Nursing Home deaths, check those when you make decisions. In my county, 67% of deaths have been in nursing homes.  My 80 year old insulin dependent Mom will never cruise again.  I have already booked my 2021 cruise and pray the cruise lines make it through.

As to masks - a private conversation with THE expert in this field yielded this advice: an important reason to wear a mask is to provide a barrier between your hands and your face, which will help keep you safe. Wearing a mask has made me conscious of how often I touch my face and hopefully, I will learn better habits for when we can cruise again (hopefully without masks).

  5. My cousin died in NYC on April 14 from Coronavirus.  He and 5 other cousins were on this Celebrity Eclipse sailing. At least 4 tested positive. I don’t know if the other 2 were tested.  Out of respect for his family’s privacy, I can’t answer any additional questions.

If you got off the ship without getting sick, say a prayer of thanksgiving.  And please add a prayer for all those who came in contact with passengers who were asymptomatic, yet still contagious, as they traveled home.

See you on my 21st cruise once a better treatment or vaccine is ready. Until then, please take care.
