  1. YOU ARE WONDERFUL~!!!!! They say laughter is the best medicine....well honey I am taking this article to the nursing home tomorrow. Hopefully if they are having problems with their pacemakers, this will start them up or I can go on e-bay and buy one of those batteries.

here I've been complaining about missing St Thomas and Tropical storm Olga that "THE CAPTAIN NEVER TOLD US ABOUT" We couldn't figure out why no one was telling us anything. Just posting signs stating keep doors closed due to high winds. The TV had a run of writing across the top of the screen from the captains log 18ft waves and high winds. Duh Then the following morning feeling I was part of the new band the headbangers.... I not the captain but the Cruise Director saying that for our safty we would not be going to St Thomas but to Puerto Rico instead. hum...wonder where the captain was and why he wasn't telling us....go figure. Needless to say after so much talk we find out from our late night comedian that he took a plane from St Thomas where he was suppose to come aboard to San Juan. He didn't understand why we didn't dock there since it was pretty and sunny.... The rest of the cruise everyone was sining the song "Don't Rock the boat baby". And all of a sudden the rest of the cruise the captain came on every morning giving us all a Good Morning and a weather report of sunny skys. Oh I came back with Viral menegitis. But your article made me forget all the bad. My husband got Bell's Palsy and he couldn't stand laughing so hard when only one side of his face would move. What was worse it caused his eyes not to tear so when I was laughing at your article with tears rolling down my face he was with red-burning eyes for a visine commercial.

Thank you for bringing laughter into the hearts of many.

  2. Just this morning we had to leave our lovely cruise ship... as we were driving away from the port (and watching the ship fading in the rearveiw mirror) I suddenly got this sinking feeling in my tummy.

I asked my cabin-mate if she had by any chance picked up my daughters little bear from her bed and put it in one of our bags... her answer? NO!

OH CRAP!!! (please note that "crap" is NOT the word / language I was using) I didn't even think to pick it up out of her bed this morning to put it in our luggage.

Here's a little background info on "Baby Bear" it's a Ty Beanie Bear, he's Tan with a plaid ribbon around his neck... and she got him from her daddy when she was just a year old. When she was 18 months old, we lost her daddy in a tragic accident. This bear is VERY special to us... its one of only a few items that we've got to remember him by (that he gave to her personally, that is) she sleeps with Baby Bear (and one other stuffed animal, also from her daddy) every night.

Okay, after I realized that we had left Baby Bear in our cabin, I did a quick U-turn (probably illegally) and headed back to the ship... I told my friend that we weren't going to tell my daughter what had happened until we knew what the outcome was going to be...

I parked in the bus parking and left them in the car as I ran back to the terminal... I got stopped before I could go inside and I had to explain to the lady that my daughter had left her bear in the cabin (I said "my daughter" but I think it was just as much my fault!!) and we were quite upset about it. The lady got on the radio to the lost and found department... she told them that we were looking for a lost BROWN teddy bear that was left on the FLOOR of our cabin... OMG!!! I kept telling the lady "he's tan, not brown and he wasn't on the floor... he was in her bed... he'd be mixed in with the covers!" but that woman wouldn't call the lost and found person back...

so then she tells me that I can't wait there, that I have to walk across the road and wait on the other side... and she'll signal me when she finds something out. Okay, so I walk over there shaking my head, just knowing that they aren't going to find our precious little Baby Bear because she gave the wrong information.

15 minutes go by... I'm pacing... fretting...

FINALLY!! The lady waves me back over... I walk up to her and she says "They found the bear, they are bringing it down now" YIPPEE!! yAHOOO!!!! And what do I do?? I start crying like a baby! geez!!!! I'm sure the people around me were thinking I was some kind of mental person because I was crying about a silly bear...

They made me go back across the road to wait again... and after another 5 minutes she calls me over again and hands me our little Baby Bear.

I go back to the car and get in and then hand Baby Bear to my daughter... it takes a minute, but then her eyes get great big, and she takes a sudden intake of breath... and says "Momma, did we leave Baby Bear on the ship?" I told her we did and she just hugs him and hugs him.

"Momma, he was probably scared when he saw us leaving our room without him... he was probably saying to us "wait, wait, what about me?" but we didn't hear him and then when we didn't come back he probably got very sad thinking we were gone forever" (she's 4 by the way)

she got me tearing up again...

The rest of the cruise was AWESOME!

Hi that was great. I took your story and changed it as if a little girl were writing about her trip she and teddy had with mommy made it as if it were the eyes of a child childrens story. I think you will like it but it got moved from carnival forum where your story originally appeared to the floataway lounge forum. If you go there you can read it. Also even though it said moved I think you can still read it on the original board I addressed it For Angelsfort. I hope you enjoy it.

  4. the stairs lead to the outside deck--which are public area.

For the same money I would take the 9203 or 9302 (as long as it dont have a * inside the cabin which denotes that the beds cane bepushed together.

these cabins are obstructed-- you get a wall that is on the public deck.

My problem is the rooms on the sides 9203 that look larger are handicap. maybe the stairs won't be too noisy. It was this or down on rivera or main not knowing what could be and being that low on the ship I opted for the lido I like being out and we are usually out more then in to sleep or change. I figured a few feet back is the buffet and pool. Hope I can live with it. The wall does have the stairs there and you can stand there and see out can't you?
